I remember the list of complications that overweight women can have during pregnancy and labor/delivery.

I remember I'm doing this for myself, but I also want it to be a big SCREW YOU to all the people who never gave me a chance because I was FAT.

I remember how depressed I am at my weight and how much I want to be happier, healthier, and a better role model for my kids.

I look at my before pictures..... Always helps me!!
  • I think of my kids and grand kids and how I want to make sure that I do my part by taking care of my body, to be around for them. To run and play with them and be healthy enough to enjoy them.

...I remember, "oh yeah, I'm not actually on a restrictive diet but just enjoying a healthy lifestyle that includes the foods I most want to eat anyhow."

Look up the definition of diet or better yet actually read the first page.
  • I look at pictures of myself from a few years ago, when I had a much smaller and nicer body!

    LOL

Mine is a little less harsh. I just look at my progress pictures and remember how much better I feel mentally and physically.
  • I look at my clothes and how much better they fit.

I remembered that I don't want to be one of those people that complain about their weight & don't do anything about it.
  • You should do so. Diet is wrong approach. Its a lifestyle choice.

I remember that I'll be one of the first ones they eat first!
  • I don't diet, I eat anything that I want but just control the portion size. Sometimes, I don't portion control. I have eaten the entire 1.75 quart container of ice cream and still lost weight that week; I just don't lose as much. This is a lifestyle change that overall is healthy but I can still work in treats from time to time.

I never think of giving up.
There are days when I don't eat as well as I'd like, and there are days when I wish I had the energy to do more weight training than I've been doing, but I know tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow and the day after that and on and on..I'll still be trying.
I wish it wasn't going so freaking, excruciatingly slow sometimes, but I'll keep working on it.

I think of Chris Jones - who went from *kitten* to fit.
I think of my old self, eating for no reason, and feeling enclosed.
I think of maybe finding someone who loves me, ... Cause everyone needs someone to love and be loved :)
..and maybe I think of someday being cut like Dana L Bailey but a tad milder to fit me. :)

I look at my 3 beautiful kids, and decide which I'd rather have, a long wonderful life with them and my husband, or all I want to eat and an early grave from diabetes (which I already take meds for) and heart disease (which runs in my family.)

When I think about giving up on my diet, I remember all the times I've given up on myself before, and where that has got me..

Well when I thought about quitting I think about all the times I did before and just came to realize the only thing I have on my side right now is time...........I should stay the course instead of just saying screw it and having to start all over :))
