Accountability Team/Friends Needed!
Hi everyone, it's been a long time since I've been on myfitnesspal so hopefully this is the right place to post this. What I really need on my weight loss journey right now is a small group of people, even one person, to be in touch with daily for accountability and motivation. I'm happy to be that for others obviously as…

Newbie and looking for friends
Hi everyone, I think this app is great for helping to monitor ourselves without being alone, it's just great to have a thread and be part of a thread that helps to motivate not only me, but others as well, it's a long hall thing, for all of us. Success is a journey, not a destination, - someone great said that I am sure,…

Keto
I’m trying to follow a Keto diet 5%net carbs 20% protein 75% good fats … however MFP doesn’t seem to be able to calculate net carbs so I technically go over my carb allowance really easily - am I missing something ?

How can I stick with low carb, but still try to get to my calorie goal?
I"m not doing keto per se, just trying to stay under 40-50 carbs daily. I can never seem to get to my calorie goal though. I don't know what other items to add to my diet that have enough calories, but not any carbs! Bacon is the first thing that came to my mind, but I can't have that every day......

New to the group
Hello everyone! I am new to myfitnesspal. I am using the tools to track food and exercise. I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I know from past experience that if I don't track what I do things get away from me. I used the WW program on and off for many years. It took a long time to stop looking at food and…

Postpartum and General Weight Loss
Hi everyone! So I just gave birth to my 3rd baby two weeks ago. The weight I gained pretty much came off after giving birth. But I was well overweight before becoming pregnant. I’ve tried everything in the past. What worked best for me, was a keto approach. I wasn’t extremely strict, because it wasn’t realistic for me and…

Back on MFP
Hello. It has been a while since I have been on MFP, but here I am. I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes a couple years ago, and have managed to lose 40 lbs after than keep that off mostly, but I am still on a low dose of medicine to control the diabetes. I am now working to lower my A1C even lower by modifying my diet and…

Back at it Again
I love life, but life has been kinda crazy the last few years. Lost track of my eating and exercise and felt the results. Six weeks ago I started a 16:8 diet and started lifting weights, but did not track what I ate. I’m much stronger and regained my self discipline, but have not lost any weight. Yep, I know I’m looking…

Today was picture day
Oh goodness 🙈 today was my initial “before-picture” day. I also calculated my BMI. Yikies 😳. But all is good. It served as a motivation and helped me realize that this is a life long commitment to health, myself and awareness 💕🥰. Today I also wrote my top 5 self love promises that I plan to keep. Here is to this new…

Calorie Cycling
I took several WOE concepts and worked them into this new idea. It has been very successful for me. As I said in another thread I weigh less than what I weighed in 1974. My blood pressure and blood sugars are normal (type 2 diabetes). I have lost 143 lbs from my heaviest and in the last 5 weeks I have lost weight every…

Midnight Bacon for Weight Loss & Budgeting/Recipe Ideas
Hi everyone! I am Angie and before we begin I apologize for my math as it is only meant to be ballpark and not really approximations. But on to why you clicked this.... When I lost the biggest amount of weight, I was keto and eating bacon at midnight. Yup, midnight bacon was a common term in my household at the time. By…

Updates will not save
Hi everyone, we are new to my fitness pal and are having a little bit of a struggle. We are trying to edit our settings to reflect 10% carbs, 70% fat, and 20% protein. We save the changes but it automatically resets us back to 50% carb etc. Does anyone have any insight as to how we can make these changes reflect what we…

2022 Intermittent Fasting Anyone?
Hi there, I am 80 lbs overweight and just started focusing on keto low carb and intermittent fasting. I have been learning the science by Dr. Jason Fung and also a member of the Diet-Doctors website for the low carb lifestyle. So far, since January 2, 2022 I've lost 13 lbs. I have been doing OMAD during the week and on…

G'Day from Down Under!
I just discovered this site and I love it! I live on Bribie Island in Australia. I am retired and have been off and on diets since I was 8 years old. I have learned a lot about myself and nutrition. When I was 14 I developed my own diet and lost 20 lbs in two weeks! But we all know you can't keep that up. I have set myself…

An Apology
I apologize for any of my posts that seem to imply that the way I've found to lose weight, get healthy and not put the weight back on is for everyone. Looking over what I've written, I have to agree that it DOES seem to imply that. I guess after 60 years of yo-yo dieting and gaining more weight afterwards each time to the…

Losing Weight
I was 404 lbs a couple of days before the new year and now it’s the 2nd and I’m 396 lbs which encouraging but I’ve definitely got to do physical activity and not just rely on Keto.
