Hello from Idaho
I had gastric bypass in Nov 2003 when I weighed 260. May 2004 I was down to 160 and found out I was pregnant. I had a healthy baby girl and gained 15lbs and then quickly lost the weight and then some, I kept my weight around 140 for about 6 years and the last few years have gained back up to 165. I had a tummy tuck Nov…

Moving on
So has any one else had to let go of old friends because they are not supportive and want you to fail? I have had to let several people go as they seem to want me to stay the same. I am not willing to let them stop me. I never thought this would happen but I do not need people tempting me with food. Or I have asked some of…

Chronic diarrhea 6 weeks post-op
Sorry for the yucky subject, but have any of you had issues with diarrhea about 6 weeks post op? I have had it for about a week now. The stomach flu has been going around, but I wasn't sure how that would affect us post op RNY. My tummy is constantly churning. I called the doc and they think it is dairy, although I have…

Learning that I will have good and bad days.
I'm learning I will have good and bad days, but the bad days aren't all that bad. I'm thinking that some of it has to do with changes in weight and medications. I have been tiring out pretty easy, but I seem to bounce back after a short nap or resting. Thinking my body is still learning how to deal with everything. Try to…

Calories since surgery
Ok now I am confused! How many calories should we consume? If we go by the indicators here my BMR should be 1783 and TdEE 2139, which to me sounds very high. I have been here for almost 2 weeks now, I am down 8-10 lbs since watching what I am doing closely but I have lost and gained the same 1 lb for 2 days now. I am still…

Can't Wait to Get off all liquids and add some soft foods
I think it's the aspect of not chewing, but I really want to start adding some soft foods, like Greek yogurt, cottage cheese. The jello helps, but it's bad when you start craving protein and not necessarily meat. Any suggestions?

Weird ache to the left of my pouch
Hi there -- I have had an intermittent dull ache just to the left of where my pouch is. (FYI RNY 2/8/12). I called the doc and they didn't seem to be concerned. Anyone have this? It is on and off and I can't seem to trace it back to one event (eating, drinking, etc.). It doesn't hurt per se, it is just disconcerting....

Hi everyone! I am 2 years & 2 months post-op gastric bypass surgery and have lost a total of 131 pounds. I weighed 165 in December 2010 (11 months post-op) and was at my thinnest/happiest. Unfortunately, I have allowed my emotional eating to undermine my success and have since allowed my weight to creep back up to 179. I…
