Think I injured a muscle in my leg
Hi there, I think I injured or strained a muscle in my leg - and I think it might be the one that starts in the lower back, goes around your front, and down the inside the thigh. It really yelled when I tried to do dead lifts today. Anyone have experience with this? It's hard to stretch it out, and it feels tense most of…

Okay Routine for Injured Beginner?
Up until now, I have taken a kind of ad-hoc approach to exercise: trying to work out most days of the week, doing stuff that is fun and feels a little challenging, etc. But the last time I had a true STRUCTURED fitness plan was back in late 2011 when I trained for my first half marathon. I loved knowing what I needed to do…

Injury - Nervous About Restarts
I hurt my shoulder/back a couple weeks ago lifting weights. The pain is gone but I am seriously scared to restart. I love lifting (well used too) and seem to be making or finding every excuse in the book not to resume. The pain was intense but I think more than that, I wasn't even lifting to my max. I need to pull up my…

Hello everyone! I'm fairly 'new' to weight lifting. I've only been lifting heavy for about 2 months and doing a 3 day split with cardio day between and one rest day. I am totally hooked. I started to hum "I've got a Golden Ticket..." to myself after every lifting day, I love it that much. What I'm trying to ask is for a…

Lifting with Achilles Tendonitis?
This fall I really increased my time on the elliptical in addition to my lifting to help offset the amount of sitting in grad school. Body composition monitoring
I've been looking into different methods of monitoring my body composition, and was wondering what people thought of products like Omron scales ( e.g. http://www.amazon.com/Omron-HBF-514C-Composition-Sensing-Monitor/dp/B0020MMCDE/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top ) as a method of tracking changes in body composition? I've also…

Looking for "workout buddies"
So I started doing weight/strength training in November and am really loving it. However, it's pretty hard to find friends (in life and on here) that have the same goals that I do. I'd like to lose the body fat and build the muscle (not BIG, but noticeably defined). Everyone I find started off thin and are currently…
