  • I don't eat breakfast and have a light lunch at 1pm during my work break. I finish work at 5pm and tend to eat an apple around 4:30pm so that when I get home I'm not tempted to snack for the sake of it. It helps keep my hunger at bay until I make dinner.

  • That's amazing that we completed Run The World! Thank you @quilteryoyo.
  • Final run of 2021 complete: 7 mile trail run. 2021 Stats: 1,112 miles & 111,755 feet of Elevation. It doesn't look like we'll make the Run The World 2021 challenge. We are currently 259 miles behind pace. Happy New Year to everyone tomorrow 🎉
  • Short 3.6 mile run, with youngest Son and his friend riding along on their new bikes. Boys enjoyed and hopefully I can get them to do this more often. December total: 67 miles & 6,255 feet of elevation
  • 5.3 miles this morning. Hoping to do a long run in between Christmas and New Year. December total: 52 miles & 4,790 feet of elevation.
  • Short 3.1 miles during my work lunch break. Will do a longer run tomorrow as I have a day off work. December cumulative: 26 miles & 2,644 feet of elevation
  • 4.1 mile trail run this morning. Got soaked as it was heavy drizzle, but not cold. There's something refreshing about running in the rain. December cumulative: 22.8 miles & 2,347 feet of elevation
  • First post for December - this thread moves so fast I can't keep up! As usual, no running goals for me as I can only run a few times a week and it's difficult to predict how far I will run in the month. Just happy plodding along and running when I can/want to rather than running to chase a goal. 01/12 - 3.1 miles - pace…
  • 4.5 mile cross country race, average pace of 8:21 min per mile - representing my running club in a local league. I usually run trails up the mountain, but this was something different and there was of course plenty of mud, so I enjoyed. November cumulative: 84.6 miles & 6,245 feet of elevation
  • 5 mile run yesterday with running club. Did a sprint work session and had an average pace of 8:20 min per mile, but was mostly running 8:06 during the efforts. I don't like sprinting, but I enjoyed it and sometimes I need to go out of my comfort zone. November cumulative: 80 miles & 5,830 feet of elevation
  • Early morning fasted 12 mile trail run, average pace of 10:03 min per mile with 1,477 feet of elevation. It was dry but very windy and cold up the top of the mountain. Felt good though and hope to do some speed work tomorrow/Wednesday.
  • When my Garmin was linked I used to disable the negative calorie adjustment. I've always exercised to be healthy, to aid weight loss and for enjoyment and never to 'earn' calories to eat more foods. I don't 'eat back' exercise calories, therefore, I no longer link my Garmin as I like to keep my exercise completely separate…
  • 6.5 miles in between finishing work and picking up the youngest from school. Average pace of 9:12 min per mile and 510 feet of elevation. I incorporated some 30 secs of Tempo running during my run as I'm not doing enough sprint work. I surprisingly enjoyed it and it made the run more interesting. November cumulative: 62.9…
  • Short 3.5 mile run to redeem myself after a dreadful run yesterday. I was faster today with an average pace of 9:23 min per mile. November cumulative: 56.4 miles & 3,811 feet of elevation
  • Short 4 mile run whilst eldest Son was at Karate training, very slow pace of 10:40 min per mile and 319 feet of elevation. Just 'not feeling it' today where every step from the start felt like hard work. Also, now that it's dark at 4:30pm I hate running in the evenings. Just can't seem to get used to it and it just feels a…
  • 7.1 mile trail run, average pace of 9:32 min per mile with 686 feet of elevation. Ran 5 of those miles running at 8 minute miles, as I'm trying to incorporate some speedwork into training. Also, tested out my new trail shoes: Saucony Peregrine 11 which are nice, sturdy and comfortable. November cumulative: 48.9 miles &…
  • Not sure what's going on with MFP, but can't access Community on the mobile app, only web browser. Anyway...5.5 mile run, easy 9:39 min per mile pace with 360 feet of elevation. First run since last Sunday's ultra and legs still a little achy, but getting back to normal. Going to try something new in terms of my training,…
  • Thanks for the info @rheddmobile. Buying shoes online is always a challenge as I don't have any proper running shoe shops close to me. As always, it's going to be a case of trial and error.
  • Thanks @SummerSkier. I'll try and find ones that have a 30 day return offer, if I do get them. I'm also looking at Salomon Wildcross 2, which look like they have a lot of grip and are quite light.
  • Thanks for all your comments 😊. Has anyone got experience of running in Hoka One One Speedgoat 4's? I'm thinking of changing my trail shoes and my usual shoes are Decathlon which I have used the same brand for almost 3 years. They have been good up until now but at 288g are a bit heavy and my toes are now hurting in them.…
  • Sounds like you are on the mend @Scott6255. Glad your back is getting better @quilteryoyo. Well done on your race @kgirlhart, great time, a PB and first in AG. Brilliant 👍 31.2 mile trail run (50.2k) today, average pace of 11:33 min per mile ans 1,865 feet of elevation. Got a 50k PB of 05:58:41 and just (by the skin of my…
  • First run of the month: 5.1 miles, average pace of 9:55 min per mile with 581 feet of elevation. Due to work and family commitments I can only run 2-3 times a week. I struggle with this as running is my 'me time' and what I used to switch off from everything. Got a 7 hour timed trail race on Sunday. Hoping to run ultra…
  • 10 mile trail run, average pace of 11:03 min per mile with 1,590 feet of elevation. October cumulative: 67 miles 6,941 feet of elevation
  • Short 3.2 mile run - hill repeats. Trying to catch up with the posts! @quilteryoyo hope your back gets better and that was a lovely photo of you and your mum. Impressive distance @CarsonSurfs and @johnisrunning - that is a lot of mileage in one month. October cumulative 56.9 miles 5,352 feet of elevation
  • Slow recovery run: 6.3 miles, average pace of 10:13 min per mile with 522 feet of elevation. October cumulative: 53.7 miles 4,937 feet of elevation
  • Thanks @Scott6255, I really enjoyed it. I also needed to do a long run as I have an ultra marathon in 2 weeks, partly to get used to running on tired legs and also to see if there were any signs of my knee injury returning. Pleased to say no niggles at all and enjoying being able to run injury-free.
