@SummerSkier it almost seems backwards that for the same person, similar efforts, it would be lower with age, since that would suggest that age makes you more efficient at oxygen consumption if the 20 year younger version pumped that volume to achieve the same effort. I'm sure there's probably a good explanation, just at face value seems backwards to me. I like how you changed that setting to test it. Fascinating.

Haha. The higher the # the better. It just says that regardless of how fit age plays a huge factor in the fitness equations.

21 Nov total 133.34 out of 150 goal. 151 left for run the year so need to avg 3.8 the rest of the year to complete on time. Has anyone started thinking about their goals for 2022 yet? I do not think I am going to repeat run the year. Too many miles.

My goals for 2022 are to improve my half and full marathon times. I have a half in January, but I plan to run the Wineglass full next October.

It was a nice 32F this morning when I headed out. It was nice to be able to wait for daylight to run. I got my booster vaccine later in the morning, grocery shopped and visited with my parents. Planning to work from home tomorrow just in case I feel bad.

@rheddmobile – Great score on the shoes!! I think the colors are nice.
@shanaber – love the descriptions of Hobbes and Beaux. We need pictures!
    Thanks @tramboman!
@SummerSkier – We are mileage twins today!
I only saw 1 deer @quilteryoyo. I see more in my yard on any given day! Glad your back feels better today.
Wow @polskagirl01 – life has really been hitting you with a whammy lately. Did you pass the kidney stone?

@polskagirl01 gosh, that is more than you needed for sure. Hope you are doing ok now and the stone has passed.

@quilteryoyo sorry about your back having a bit of a flare up again. Glad it seems better. No more leaf raking! That is hard work, and hard on the back. I just did that for over 2 hours today and my back is a little complainy about that too.

I got back from DC last night. I only got the one run in while I was there. It turned a lot cooler and I was busy with conference stuff, plus I prioritized going out to breakfast with a friend. I ate way too much on this trip, it was great. This morning I met up with a big group of running friends who have been trying to get everyone together on Sundays and get some people who have not been running very often back. It's more social than anything but it was a fun time and we got 4 miles done.

@katharmonic I hope your back is okay. Nice running.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes for my back. I hope it's about over it too.

@summerskier - I have been thinking about my goals... I went back and forth on run the year. I can't run that many miles any longer. My goal this year was to run 2021 km which was doable but instead I will have one of my lowest mileage years and won't be close to making it.
So I went a head and signed up for it again and hopefully can do 2022 km and maybe 2022 miles on a team again. I hope to contribute more this next year as I only got in about 60% of what @eleanorhawkins contributed.
Now that I am mostly healthy and uninjured my aim is to run consistently and stay healthy and uninjured.

@SummerSkier I think that's hilarious blaming your unknown injuries on the cat. I think I will start doing that. I don't trust our cats. One's too haughty, and one's so nice I bet she's hiding something.

@kgirlhart So sad about the pet dog.

@Scott6255 glad your shins are feeling better!

@shanaber I love the puppy pics. They both seem to have such fun personalities.

@rheddmobile those ARE some ugly shoes. I'd wear them too, though, if they were comfortable. I also wouldn't call your afghan ugly, but it definitely clashes with the shoes, haha.

Mostly cloudy, mid 30s F, with a strong west wind. Saw about 100 snow geese, some Canada geese, a few squirrels, and a pair of mallards.

@quilteryoyo You should know by now that wind's purpose is to blow the leaves from your yard into your neighbor's yard. Raking is unnecessary.

Won't be hard for me to figure out 2022 goals -- just renumber my failed goals from 2021.

When you pop in here claiming your December 2021 mileage, what accomplishments will you have made?

PUT THE FUN BACK IN THE RUN!
Return to a good running weight of 175 lbs (second attempt)

    2021 Races:

    6/26 Direction Up 5k, Solon, OH 31:48 chip; 31:59 Garmin; 53d overall; 2d male 65 and over
7/17 Run of the Ox 5k, Mantua, OH 32:19 Garmin; 44th overall; 3d place male 60 and over

@shanaber love the pics of Hobbes and Beaux. Hobbes will be so tired by the end of the 10 day sleepover. Or maybe he is adjusting and wants a permanent buddy :)

Ha, I did enjoy my vacation over-indulgence. I didn't overstuff myself at any one meal, but I certainly didn't take my chances on ever getting too hungry. :D

    @marisap2010 - Happy race runniversary!

@Teresa502 - Love the shirt from your turkey trot. I also like the smaller races sometimes. It's nice to just line up and go instead of corrals and lots of waiting around. And people seem more friendly.

@rheddmobile Looks like a great find for used shoes. Altras are so ugly but I kind of love their ugliness. I gravitate towards shoes that just scream at you.

@scott6255 So glad you had a pain free run!

@polskagirl01 Hope you continue to feel better and the kidney stone doesn't give you any more issues.

@quilteryoyo Sorry to hear you had a set back after the leaf raking. Stupid leaves!

@kgirlhart I saw a news story about that accident this morning. So tragic and I hope his wife will be ok.

22 Nov. 138.42 out of 150 done. 145.9 left to go for 2021 miles. @kgirlhart I did not know that bus crash was in your area. How very sad. And yes the weather matched the mood I think. I have been thinking the weatherman has been totally off the past few days. I looked Sat night and it said lows in the 40's so I put a blanket on Bandit. It never got lower than 68. And then last night the weather said it was going to stay warm so I left him with just a light sheet on and it ended up in the 40's.... We must be right on the edge of some systems so they have no clue.

@shanaber I was noticing that collar on Beaux. He must be just starting his training as it looks like a very controlling one! I did not sign up for run the year again altho I liked filling out the passport it really is too many miles or Kms for my old legs....

@Orphia congrats on building up your stamina this month and meeting your goal!

@polskagirl01 HOLY SMOKES you go from being ill to having a kidney stone!! what a run of bad luck. I think you need to burn some incense or something. Hope this is a better week for you. wow. :(
