  • I started Monday- more so for health reasons- but will be tracking my macros closely to lose some body fat too! Feel free to friend me!
  • I am 14 months out from having my 3rd baby and am still carrying around a good 20 extra pounds- having said that- I teach fitness classes (zumba, pump, pound) and I think people often find it comforting that I am not a "barbie doll" instructor and someone they can relate too- I tell them to come get fit WITH me! You got…
  • I like to make the batter as directed (adding egg, a little vanilla, cinnamon, and almond milk) then I take my muffin pan and make breakfast muffins with turkey breakfast sausage. Put your muffin cups in the pan, add a little sausage, a little batter, and top with a little more sausage. Bake and I batch cook them for the…
  • I have been teaching Zumba for 5 years- and the other ladies are 100% correct! It is TOTALLY a judgement free zone and appropriate for ALL levels! My advice: 1. Wear comfy clothes and take water 2. Try not to hide too far in the back- being able to see the instructor is SO helpful! 3. If you don't love it- give it a few…
  • Eat & lift heavy- you cannot build muscle while in a calorie deficit Barbell squats, deadlifts, glute bridges, donkey kicks on the smith machine, cable pull throughs, good mornings are some of my favs.
  • I noticed at Wal-Mart the other day they had a generic version called Omnihealth- it said on the box "compare to Shakeology" you might check that out! I love a blended protein shake in the mornings! Helps me meet my protein for the day with few fats/carbs.
  • DItto on Spotify- you can make your own playlists- I have multiple playlists for different activities & moods.
  • ^^^ This. I set my calorie and macro goals and eat what I want as long as they fit my goals!

  • This is AWESOME! Congrats! I am a flexible dieter! I have been for about a year and a half now. No more obsessing, feeling guilty, feeling restricted, and making progress. You hear this line all the time about "diets" but this REALLY is a life style! I cannot imagine ever going back! I *USED* to be a "clean" eater (cringe)…
  • I love them both and make them both fit into my daily calorie/macro goal. Unless you have high cholesterol I wouldn't worry about it! I eat them both very often along with lots of meat and jerky and my last chol test was 142
  • I would take a changing body over a scale change any day! That scale can be a lying deceiver! How are your macros? You may not be getting enough if you are struggling with fatigue! Lowering calories should ALWAYS be the last option! Have you considered incorporating lifting into your exercise regiment?
  • Ditto on the early morning work outs- I am NOT a morning person- but being a single mom with 2 boys, FT job, commuting, Baseball, Scouts, housework, etc etc etc- getting up before they do and getting it in is the only way. Food prep on the weekends is a MUST for me- I throw a few lbs of chicken in the crock pot- season it…
  • Definitely ditto on the food scale- you would be AMAZED at the difference between eye balling a measurement and the actual weight! Also- I agree with playing around with your macros- it can make a huge difference! Also, are you eating enough? Are your calories appropriate for your lifestyle and body? How much water are you…
  • I LOVE Spark by Advocare- it helps me get more water in and it gives me energy and has amino acids. It does have some carbs tho- 11 per serving. It helped me get off all soda :)
  • When I first started counting macros- I would sit down the night before and pre-log everything. Here I am almost a year later and I hardly ever pre-log. I have a feel for what I need to eat to meet my macros. Usually I just fill my snacks to fill the voids! it can be overwhelming at first- just give yourself some grace and…
  • There are also a couple of good Facebook groups- Female Flexible Dieters and IIFYM Women's Exclusive- there is a LOT of info in these groups and great info in the pinned posts!
  • Me!! Whoop! My diary is open and I log every day! Been flexible dieting/IIFYM for almost a year now! I am on a cut right now- but feel free to friend me! I LOVE looking at other diaries to get meal and snack ideas that are macro friendly! I try to eat a doughnut at least once a week! haha!!
  • I can relate to your post in so many ways- I know that seeking counsel and OA are often recommended- but I simply do not have access to that in the small rural town I live in. Having said that- I have found a lot of help in flexible dieting/iifym. Before- I "dieted" my way into obesity- eating "clean" and I would do great…
  • ^ This- it is a mental thing for me. I lift Mon-Fri add a couple of cardio sessions in there- work,kids,ball,church,gym-ACK! So- when the weekend comes it is let's have fun-relax and play! I deserve a break! I usually don't go over calories much- especially if I am am on maintenance- but my macros are a hot mess. My…
  • My goal is 150 g/per day- so I don't need NEARLY as much as you do! I thought I would share some of my go-to snacks in case you don't incorporate these already: Peppered beef jerky (30 g/per 1 oz) Kodiak Power Cakes Pancake mix Greek Yogurt Chia Seeds Quest Bars & Chips Combat Bars Cottage Cheese String Cheese Turkey…
  • Psssh- He probably has severe brain fog from his years of "bro-science" diet of grilled chicken, tilapia, and broccoli .... eat them chips girl!!! If it fits!! Holla!!!!
  • ^^^ This- I do also keep an eye on my micros to see if I am lacking something on a consistent basis. I would definitely not ditch watching your fats for sugar- if you are already watching your carbs then I wouldn't worry about it. You want to be sure you are balanced in your fats (enough/too much)
  • OP- I drink a protein shake daily to hit my protein goal. If you are not paying attention to your protein daily- I would start! I lost 90 lbs as well- and how I wish I would have been lifting and watching my macros back when I started- I would be strong and fit instead of "skinny fat" I am working on fixing that now! My…
  • I am old- I had to Google what "420" is
  • Tamelakaye79- thanks :) and I added you as a friend if that's ok![/quote] Absolutely!
  • This is SO wrong on so many levels and is a great way to create an eating disorder. Log your pizza (I LOVE pizza, btw) and adjust the rest of your day. What a sad sad life if you can't have pizza- or ANYTHING you enjoy. I think getting your mind right and creating a HEALTHY relationship with food is the largest battle with…
  • I am a newbie lifter, too! I LOVE it and the changes I am seeing in my body and in my strength!! I lift 4 x's per week- 2 Upper body days and 2 lower body days- squats and deadlifts are my FAV!!!!!
  • I think she meant you cannot spot reduce- which is true. Great job on your weight loss! I think after getting into that weight room and lifting heavy you will see a big change in your physique- even if a little skin is left- a "mom's badge of honor" There are great ST programs online- Simply Shredded for women in addition…
