  • I totally blew it. From perfect goal weight and 55 year old abs I logged a surplus for a few months and was getting stronger with heavy lifting. But......I'd occasionally miss a workout or have an abysmal food day. But I was only 2-3 pounds heavier than the previous month so I didn't really get too worried. Broke a rib…
  • Someone wanted a kilt pic re-take .
  • Eleven months ago I was drafted into a Whole30 group through bountiful baskets. I was already eating quite well for the previous six months so it wasn't a huge change. I felt so good that I continued my original W30 for a total of 90 days and then only added back in the occasional adult beverage. I have a huge camping…
  • I do 90 days of whole30 twice a year (three months on and three months off). I do weigh and log calories on W30 so I can see how foods influence my weight loss (data). I only go off so I can have a few adult beverages at an annual camping trip and my birthday. I've logged for 480 days and have lost 118 pounds. I have two…
  • Try them upside down. I have to eat the entire foot long at once because leftover subway is funky.

  • Always, I end up logging about 200 miles a week, 25-45 miles a day. I wear fluorescent t-shirts. My commute is 12.6 miles and It only takes me 15 minutes longer than driving. I enjoy the free workout and gas savings of at least $200 a month. I gave away my stationary bike, hated it.
  • I ride my bicycle to work. It only adds an extra half hour to my day and I get about two hours of cardio a day. I also save over a hundred dollars a week in fuel. Weights in the house, it's easy to whip out a few reps while water boils etc...
  • I shared a Quinoa Buckwheat Pancake recipe on another thread. 235 Calories, 35 carbs, 6 fats, 10 protein, 3 fiber, 2 saturated fat http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/356003-any-low-calorie-breakfast-lunch?
  • Quinoa Buckwheat Pancakes (gluten free) Quinoa Flour (3/8 cup, 42 grams, or 1/4 cup milled quinoa) Buckwheat Flour (1/4 cup, 28 grams, or two tablespoons milled buckwheat groats) 1 tablespoon pure cane sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon corn starch 1 extra large egg 1/2 cup milk 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1/8…
  • +1 for Endomondo for smart phones. I use it mostly for cycling but it has walking and running modes as well. I use the pro version that cost a whopping 49 cents.
  • It's not often I find something truly helpful online. I'm going to make falafel flavored chickpeas from your recipe. I can't wait for tomorrow to try it. Thank you so much.
  • I only have two kilts I can wear. My smaller kilts won't see daylight for another thirty pounds. Good to see someone I know here.
  • It's probably not your ears. Could be TMJ disorder (your jaw joint). The jaw forms part of the ear canal and the brain can't figure out where the pain originates. Sharp stabbing pain is almost always related to the jaw.
  • I make them in a thermos. They always come out perfect and it saves a lot of energy. I preheat my thermos for a minute before I pour it out and add the oats and water.
  • That's because it's for the entire 8 glasses of Ice water so less than ten calories per glass.
  • Thanks for the article. "We must educate the public that participation in moderate doses of exercise will not burn more fat unless changes are made to energy or fat intake." I like it.
  • I'm on Week Three of my fist time. I've noticed a increase in my pull-ups from 12 to 17, in that time and I've noticed a big change in shoulder muscularity, 2 inch waist reduction, and lost 7.5 pounds. I've also seen a steady increase in weight lifted or reps for every exercise. It's pretty fulfilling for only 3 weeks.
  • I make falafel with fresh or canned chickpeas. It's quite simple 1 can chickpeas 1/2 onion (I caramelize mine and add the garlic towards the end, They come out sweeter and less harsh) 1 clove garlic minced 1 teaspoon ground coriander 1 teaspoon cumin 1/2 cup cooked quinoa (instead of flour) 1 tbsp flax seed meal. 1/2…
  • I've always hated treadmills, they remind me of hamster wheels, they are noisy and I can run anywhere. For indoors I love the elliptical. It's quiet and gets my heart rate up and the sweat going quickly. I like to jump on while the kids are playing video games. That way I can give them unwanted gaming advice while I'm…
  • Isn't that a great feeling? I love it when my belt goes down a notch even though I only showed a slight weight loss. Luckily I never had to go to a big and tall shop but was pushing the aesthetics of conventional apparel. I passed on buying a new suit for a meeting because they would have had to take in the belly by 10 or…
  • There are a few at our second hand sports equipment store in town. There are some bottoming out issues with heavier individuals and of course there is the "marketing" name change to increase sales and the machine is the exact same as the old version. Just google "problems with tread climber" and you'll be able to see some…

  • Yep, you no longer have that thigh bulge. Your legs go from bum to knee now.
  • Three olives is ridiculous. I'd have walked out. I have before when the sandwich stuffer was uppity! Our local Safeway deli has a better selection and the price per oz. is about half of Subway.
  • First week will be completed tonight! Those squats kinda tear up the legs don't they?
  • Falafel, cucumber, tomato, greek yogurt, and salsa.
  • I'm not a SCA member but I haven't missed Estrella War for years. A lot of us get together for probably one of the best camping weeks known to man.
  • Just remember that veg haggis is terrible. I allow myself a little of the good stuff every Burn's night or Twelfth Night.
  • That's great, I was lucky enough to have gained my weight in a short amount of time, after an injury, so I still have all my good clothes and very few big guy clothes. I tried to buy a suit in my current size but they just don't make big guy suits that could even be altered to fit someone who was still proportional only…
