  • I usually have vodka & diet cola, its like 105 calories if you only have 1 shot in it. (I do realise im 18 - but I live in the UK so I'm legal)
  • I'm not trying to maintain, but I do weigh myself every day. I only log once a week though, otherwise I get caught up in 1/2 and 1/4lbs, which are really worthless in the long-term.
  • I'm ill at the moment but the moment I feel fully better, I will be doing C25K. as I spur-of-the-mement signed up for a 5k on the cancer research website (I was looking to see if I could sponsor someone - it was advertised for next year - I went "ooh") Since cancer research is a charity that I have always valued to work of…
  • I have bookmarked the page and promise to put £1 in when I get paid (I'm a student, hence me not having £1 to spare unless I plan EVERYTHING I spend money on!) And as a way of saying "sorry" for not being able to put in more, I have also said I am "interested" in the Sheffield 5k fun run next year (eek!) and will sign up…
  • I'm trying to look into buying a pedometer watch too, I'd like one that does HRM at the same time so I dont need two machines but I think it is really confusing! Have you tried just going to amazon and reading the reviews? It is probably a more reliable view than what is on an independant website which can delete negatives.
  • When it looks like all you're t-shirts have turned into tents because you just can't afford to buy more!
  • Is it too late to say "I'm in!", I have a few walks that are 10miles+ planned for this month =) (I want to be able to make my way through the peak district while at university!)
  • FINALLY!! I can reply!!! I posted my reply in my blog so that I wouldn't forget what I wanted to say so I'll C&P it back I've always been a bit sceptical over articles like this; I think people are trying to put too much science behind weight-loss, which always ends up with conflicting evidence that can be very confusing…
  • I have no tips, I start my first year of university at the end of September, I just wanted to bump this for later =)
  • Well this explains why I am always picking up stomach bugs, coughs and colds from the gym! (I'm just glad I've not got anything worse) I'm normally quite good with my hygene while i'm there, I wash my hands before, take a clean towel, wipe down machines before and after use (not just the obvious bits but the buttons, the…
  • Bump for when I'm on my pc not my phone
  • Walk, bike & run =) It's working for me at the moment, I'm getting ankles for the first time in years, and losing some good inches from the mono-thigh!
  • A stone = 14lbs OR about 6.35 KG.
  • Do it the healthy way, Eat sensibly (do the whole chew slowly and stop eating when full - not at the end of the meal). Don't eat junk food/processed food/sugary snacks if you can avoid them! Don't drink alcohol, it slows down your metabolism. If you HAVE TO try Spritzers or vodka & Diet coke/lemonade. Drink LOTS and LOTS…
  • Bump for when I'm on a computer not my phone! x
  • I start university (or college or whatever you call it) this year. I've chosen Self-catered accomedation because the food that they offered looked REALLY unhealthy when I went to visit (asin, the healthiest thing I saw was chips, other than the salad bar but that didnt have much choice). I think if I start out as I mean to…
  • bump! I've never understood this termionlogy =)
  • Everyones doing amazingly, I hope one day I can look back and say the same things you're all saying now. Small celebrations - I've lost 2 inches off my thighs that I once thought were "hopeless lumps of fat that would never change", meaning my once too-small jeans fit perfectly.(though I will never admit that they were too…
  • I use mapmywalk.com though it works for runing, cycling, hiking and well, pretty much any activity that involves moving!
  • You put you're time at work under "lifestyle" in the profile settings, It would probably count as an "active" lifestyle. As for tiredness, could you get a power-nap between shifts? Just an hour or so should make you feel a little more energetic.
  • Barely any! I usually walk to my gym (an hours walk away) as my warm-up then walk back home as my cool-down. I occasionally do 15-20 minutes on a treadmill or rowing-machine in the middle of my strength training, but only if I feel like I am cooling down too much, or if I'm there that long that I needed a break. x
  • I took a look at your diary, it seems like you are eating quite well but maybe add more fruit and vegetables and try to keep to lower carbs? It looks like you need lots more water (unless you just aren't logging water). Other than that all I can suggest is to change you're workouts a little, maybe do more strength training…
  • You look amazing, well done :)
  • I'm in, I can never stop myself at "a little treat", so a few squares of chocolate turns into the whole 300g bar by the end of the night, and probably thousands of calories too, I've never had the guts to try and log it! I'd like to be able to buy chocolate again, without the risk of me eating ALL of it at once.
  • haha I've started buying clothes a size too small, and gift-wrapping them myself so I can open them when I have lost the inches =)
  • I weighed myself early, because Fridays always used to be my weigh-in day, so it was either today or a week away. I lost 6lbs! I cheated once. The day I went on holiday last sunday, but I was the same then as at the start of the month! I think I may repeat this next month, but less strictly =)
  • I have heard something about laying on your back with your leg held up in the air and writing your name/the alphabet with your foot helps the pain. Not sure how true it is because I'm more of a cyclist/walker than a runner, but It could help you being able to get up and running again sooner!
  • Well done! I quit last year, it is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. You will see the benefits soon and, as much as you wont believe me, it gets easier! Good luck =)
  • I've only recently got back into my attempted new lifestyle, and even more recently back on here! Yet, I've learnt... 1) as good as chocolate/cake/bread/cheese is (and that sentance alone made my mouth water!) sometimes, it isn't worth the hour at the gym! 2) I can't deprive myself though, small amounts of "the good stuff"…
  • I've been on the pill for about two years and gained about 20lbs! (though that was partly due to it causing a hormonal imbalance and making me have symptoms of depression which lead to me excersising less and eating more). As long as you stay on track with eating and excersise any gain will be minimal, and I'm sure it's…
