  • I wish i had seen this earlier. 5 weeks ago i decided to start walking, in the beginning i walked 2.5 miles for the first 3 days and then upped it to 4 miles 5 days a week. I now enjoy it so much that i have trouble settling in the eve if i haven't had my walk. I can walk about 4.5 - 5 miles and on weekends i do 6-7 miles…
  • i was on it for about 3 months. Stay away from KFC, McD's, burger king and Dominoes and don't eat anything with more than 5g of fat. When you get to day 3 then don't go too far away from a ladies, drink loads of water and carry sanitary towels and spare clothes just in case. If you take oral contraception then reconsider…
  • thanks for that, There's one in the Arndale, i'll check it out.
  • well my training has been brought to a halt due to a cold. I have not felt well since wednesday, i tried to go out on friday but could only mange a walk. It means when i get better i'll have to start week 4 again. I'm not a happy bunny. Hope everyone has a good weekend though.
  • Hello from across the pond. i'm a 35 year old mom of 3 and i'm also a mature student just finished my first year. the kids are 10, 5 and 3. I have lost 17 lbs since my journey started in nov, still have about 40lbs left to go. you can add me if you wish,
  • i think you are running 5 miles, it takes me 50 to walk 5km and i can jog it in 40 min. Double check with an instructor what the units are, but i'm quite sure it's in mile not km.
  • I agree, also, add some strength training to your routine that might just make the difference. I found that after a while walking alone was not as effective as it was in the beggining so i added some weights to build muscle and help burn more fat.
  • i use calipers, they are easy to use and much more accurate than my scales. You can get one on ebay for under $5 and they don't take up space. Together with my good old tape, i am never disappointed. i am currently at 30% down from 35%, I'm aiming for 20% or under.
  •
  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Jaffa cakes. I think i'll go pick up another packet from Tesco seeing as i ate the last one :)
  • WHAAAT! now what kind of country doesn't have Jaffa cakes! I wanted to move to the states, but i don't think i could live somewhere with no Jaffa cakes. Maybe i'll just visit then.
  • W4D1 done, the first interval was ok but i struggled with the second. I had to take a 10sec breather during the last 5 min run, but i did it. I couldn't go out yesterday coz the skies opened up and it poured all day. I haven't bought a waterproof Kagool yet but i might have to invest in one. Can't wait for day 2, tho my…
  • Weekend was good, i did W3D4 on saturday. I did an extra day coz i didn't feel ready to move to week 4. I rested sunday and yesterday but it's pouring out today and i really wanted to get started with week 4. I'll see if the rain lets up later and i'll go out this eveing. The 5 min run has me a bit scared though, wish me…
  • i don't want to measure my BMI as i don't hold much stock in it , i prefer to reduce how much fat i carry therefore i prefer to measure my body fat %.
  • I've not run at all but i did my W3D1 yesterday and the second interval floored me and i kept thinking "i'm not doing this again". But i finished it and when i woke up today i felt pretty good, so good that i decided to go out again today. I figured if i needed to get back on that horse before i give up. As i was running i…
  • Hi I know i went for my run yesterday and did W3D1, but i felt pretty good this morning that i decided to go out again today. I didn't struggle as much on the second interval as yesterday and i think i went further than i did too. If the weather is good tomorrow i might do it again. Am I getting obsesses? I'm loving it…

  • is it too late to join? I just did W3D1. The first half of the workout was ok but i really had to push on the second interval.
  • Rooibos Vanilla Tea, it tastes great anytime of day. either by Tetley or tick Tock.
  • i agree, use a jug just to be on the safe side. i mean, if you need 400ml of milk then you use a container not scales, right? so just find a container with 10ml or 20ml increments and use that instead.
  • Thinks K-Fed with sovereign madalions and burberry cap, jacket shoes and anything else that u can get in burberry, and that is a chav.

  • of course, invite on the way
  • Hagen Daz Dolce leche icecream and pringles(once you pop, you can't stop)
  • I have the same problem. I bought a kilner jar and filled it with sunflower and pumpkin seeds, almonds, hazelnuts and brazil nuts and a few peanuts and some raisins. I keep it on my kitchen counter and near the kids cookie jar, so when i try to reach for the biscuits (which is my weakness) i get blocked by the seeds and i…
  • i'm thinking when i finish mine, i'll go on to the c210k programme. That's if i survive this one.
  • Yes, it actually tells you to do that in the notes under the table so that it gives you a better reading.
  • I use this site: http://www.triathlontrainingblog.com/calculators/calories-burned-calculator-based-on-average-heart-rate/ i input the details and use the results to log my excercise.

  • I do that as well, my fav is apple an blackcurrent. i make it very weak just to give the water a bit of flavour. Otherwise i'd only drink tea, i like redbush tea with smimmed milk and cologran sweetners they have no cals.
