Teacher, too! We've been out 1.5 weeks and I am already bonkers! Working out at the gym helps a lot. Went on a family bike ride tonight - great fun! I feel crazy when people ask me if I"m glad to be out for summer because I am really not! Would love support!

From what I understand, not much on the Paleo plan goes in the "pantry", per say. Sounds like it's mostly about fresh veg and lean meats. No dairy, wheat, potatoes or legumes (beans). Google it, there's lots of info out there. I have seen people have great results on it, lowering body fat and increasing muscle. I have…

Oh, the tyranny of the "or".... Nutella AND peanut butter! I eat it twice a day on flatbread!

If I'm reading correctly, it looks like you have been at this for only a few days. Will take much longer to see real results. Weight fluctuates due to lots of things including sodium intake. Also, sometimes the body temporarily holds onto water after hard workouts as the muscles repair. Most of the people on this sight are…

You're def not eating enough. Set your activity level to active or very active, which you are!!! Loss to 1/2 lb per week. If you give your body the cals it needs you won't blow it every few days.

It's all terribly confusing, but you might want to check out the group Eat More to Lose Weight here on MFP, also on facebook & youtube. They can explain how increasing calories and adding weight training can increase metabolism and get you back to losing. Then again, lots of people have results with MFPs allotted calories.…

No, but turning 40 is a bit daunting! I think the key is exercising and eating right. We can look good for many, many years to come as we gain control of taking care of ourselves. I think you will enjoy your 30s!

Miso soup is loaded with sodium, so I would skip it. You can get a salad with ginger dressing or edamame beans (steamed soy beans) with no salt for starters. Then just pick a roll that lists ingredients you like. Many have items such as avocado, cucumber, or roe (tiny fish eggs). Smoked eel is often in rolls, it's mild &…

Toast with peanut butter & about 16 oz of water about an hour before the race. That will give you time to use the bathroom before it starts. Go for a banana after your run. Have fun! Hopefully its the first of many runs to come!

Runner and mother of 3! Training for my first marathon - St. Jude's in Memphis, December 1. Also struggling to lose weight while training.

I've kind of noticed my tummy looking less flat since increasing my workout schedule. I assume it's just my body getting used to the new plan, and maybe muscle toning under the fat. I intend to keep on my current path, expecting the fat to decrease and the muscle to show through at some point. Also, taking measurements can…

Quakes rice cake snacks come in cheddar, ranch, bbq, apple cinnamon, chocolate and caramel corn. Individual bags are 100 calories or less, and fairly low carbs or sugar, but big on flavor and crunch! Fiber one 90 calorie bars are yummy and fairly guilt free. I've seen a brand of candy at Walgreens called, Unjunked. They…

Please don't give up! Keep doing what you're doing and you will continue to see results. I finally listened to all the suggestions about figuring out your TDEE and eating 500 below that. I had to set my goal as "active" in order to get enough calories, plus eat back my exercise calories. I also added workouts - I increased…

Remember, pictures from this day will hopefully be around your home for the rest of your life! Drink water, water, then more water! Good luck, marriage is an adventure! Worth it, but tough sometimes.

Same thing is happening to me! I guess we need to keep doing exercising and eating at deficit & hope it will all pay off! Lil frustrating tho!

My husband is a youth pastor and I struggle all the time with how the teenage girls dress. Skirts get shorter and shoes get taller. I can't believe what I see some times. And these are pretty good kids! I applaud you for having standards that may not be popular. I agree with those who have said you need to pick your…

Used to suffer with anxiety quite a bit a few years ago, depression too. Finally talked to a counselor after trying for a long time to trudge through it on my own. Was on antidepressant for about 2 years. Anxiety got better, but I gained about 20 lbs. Was also on birth control pill to control pain of endometriosis.…

I buy them at Walmart in the power bar/ vitamins section. I just ordered some online though: cookies & creme and peanut butter fudge. They are sweetened with stevia. They have only 10 carbs per 200 calories. Little high in fat, 12 grams, but if you are going lower carb, higher protein & fat, they fit right in and are…

Proper fitting, good running shoes are among the MOST important things about running. It is very likely that your shoes are the cause of your ankle pain.

"I love C25K! I'm on week 4 right now. My advice: go to a running store and get fitted for proper shoes, stretch after your run, and don't feel badly if you need to repeat weeks." This!!! Great advice. I did C25K two years ago. Still running strong. So far, i've completed a 12k, currently training for 1/2 marathon. Proper…
