  • I just finished day 4 of insanity. I've tried several times to do P90X, but I honestly got a little bored with it. Insanity has definitely been a great change. As for Turbo Fire, I need to learn more. We just got insanity, so I'll probably have to hold off for a bit before I rush out to buy a new program. I did see an…
  • My husband and I just finished day 5 and we can already tell a difference from day 1. On day 1, we couldn't make it through the 9 minute warm up without breaks. Today, we were actually able to go faster each round. I can say it gets easier, but we have also been working out pretty regularly for almost a year now. We did…
  • Go for it! Doing different workouts on different days isn't a bad thing. If it keeps you moving and keeps you from getting bored, you'll lose the weight. I use workout DVDs for almost all my exercise, and I alternate my workouts all the time. Not to mention, if you get into all 3 and find out 1 is your favorite, you can…
  • I'm actually the opposite of most people on here. I have the DVDs, and I love them, but I've never been to a live Zumba class before. (I'm not the most coordinated, and the fear of falling on my face in front of others terrifies me!) I don't use Zumba everyday, but I do incorporate them into my workouts as a fun day…
  • bump for now. I have a few recipes to add later!
  • Welcome from TN! I'm from White House! You'll love this site and how easy it makes it to track your food and exercise! The message boards are also a wonderful tool to use to get feedback, advice, or just to vent. Welcome and good luck!:drinker:
  • I like P90X for any fitness level. The workouts are longer, but there are stretching and water breaks factored in. When I did it before, I just modified the moves. Also, some of the DVDs were easier for me than others. I'm good at Yoga but not so much at push ups. I also don't have a pull up bar since my husband and I work…
  • I'm struggling in that area too! My husband and I just recently invested in P90X and the ab ripper X looks killer. We haven't tried it yet, but I"ll keep you posted. It's an expensive system, so if you're only looking for abs, I can tell you the moves after I start working the program.
  • That's awesome! I have an iPhone and had no idea I could find an app for it. I'll have to start the program again and use my own music this time. I'm guessing it would be much more motivating! Thanks for the tip!
  • I have the 30 day shred and the Biggest Loser Cardio Max. I alternate both since they both work different areas. I prefer the 30 day shred for the ab workout, but cardio max is great for the legs! I haven't tried the Leslie Sansone videos, but the feedback from others on this site say that she's great too. I think that…
  • If you decide to do this program, I recommend downloading the free podcasts. The music isn't my favorite, but it is completely worth it to not worry about timing myself!
  • Wow this thread is hilarious! Anyone with this kind of sense of humor is a person I need on my team! :drinker:
  • My husband is currently using them and has had good results so far. They are a temporary means to get over his mental hurdle (he hasn't been under 265 in about 9 years) and then he's done with them. They work, but you need to be strict on the diet. He hasn't had any of the complications you hear about in the horror…
  • Welcome!! We have a very similar goal! I'm going on vacation to Disney this year for my daughter's birthday and I'm determined to be fit when we get there. This site is great for support and motivation. Good luck!!:drinker:
  • Zachary Thomas-Douglas (7) Zoe Rae (4) The middle name was to honor both of our fathers and we were afraid we would only have 1 boy. Turned out to be a good idea afterall.
  • My next purchase will be No More Trouble Zones. I have a friend that alternates 30DS with this one and she loves it. She says that it is circuit training similar to the 30DS, but more intense. If you're looking to step it up a notch, I'd recommend this one. It is about 40-45 minutes, but she swears by it!
  • I run in Mizuno Wave Riders and I love them. I bought them on sale for under $100 at a running store that fitted me out first. I've tried several, and Saucony is good if you're looking to stay under $50, but the most important thing is to make sure the shoe works for you. Everyone is different, and getting fitted makes all…
  • I'll be starting the Shred today! I've done it in the past, but I tend to get bored easily and I end up trading it out for another DVD. Hopefully, since there's a group to keep me accountable, I'll be able to get through the full 30 days. I'm definitely going to measure since it seems that I'll lose more inches than…
  • I completely understand how you feel! I'm a full time student, have a full time job, and have 2 kids. Luckily, I have a husband who shares the workload with the kids, but it's still a busy day in my house. Usually, I do the 25 minute Jillian Michaels 30DS during the week with Wednesdays off for church. I leave my big…
  • I just found this thread, and I'm SO glad I did! I'm not a teacher yet, but I'm currently working as a sign language interpreter in a day treatment program in my county. I've been in education for 5 years, and this is probably the best placement so far. I'm slowly working my way through school to become a special ed…
  • I love it! I use it 3 times a week and then I mix in some other videos the other 3 days, but the shred is my favorite. It's tough the first few days, but if you stick with it, you'll feel a difference by the end of the first week.
  • Aww honey I'm so sorry! I know that sometimes the scale can be a punk, but just think about all the good things you did for yourself while on vacation. You had fun, but you also kept working out. Just think of how good you'll feel when you get back to the gym and you pick right up where you left off! It's just 1 week;…
  • I just made the switch to Greek yogurt and I love it too! I get the Dannon with the fruit on the bottom and then I mix in 2 tablespoons of organic oats and honey granola. The granola helps if you don't like the texture of the yogurt alone.
  • I'm at 1200 a day before exercise. I have days where I eat more, but seldom eat less. I do eat my exercise calories for now since the website encourages it, but I normally drink them in a protein shake rather than eat them. I'm always looking for friends and definitely food ideas, so feel free to friend me and we can work…
  • You're on the right track! It will get easier once you start to get an idea of calorie content. One thing I did in the beginning was to plan my entire day the night before. I'd go in and key in my breakfast, lunch, dinner and 2 snacks while I packed lunches for me and the kids. The way I did it, I'd key in foods…
  • bumping this for later!
  • Where did you download this?
  • Have you thought about drinking your calories in a healthy way? I have problems with eating foods that have too few calories. I love salads, and so my entire lunch is usually only around 200 calories, but it's a huge salad! One thing I do is drink a slimfast shake WITH my breakfast. I don't use them for meal replacement,…
  • We made pizzas on Monday night that weren't too bad. I have a Biggest Loser cookbook that uses portobella mushroom caps as a crust. Flip the mushroom over, pour in your sauce, add your toppings and cook for 7-10 minutes at 375. We added turkey pepperoni and canadian bacon slices with fat free mozzarella. You have to eat…
  • I prefer the cafe steamers from Healthy Choice. You need to watch the sodium, especially in the asian inspired meals, but they are more filling for fewer calories. I use the Smart Ones and Lean Cuisine meals as my cheat foods. I love Mexican food and Pizza, and Lean Cuisine has the best tasting cheat foods that are still…
