Letting go after confusing body comments
TLDR: I'm struggling with his comments about my body even though I'm trying so hard to shake them off. I wrote a long post but it was too much. I'll just say that I just see myself lifting less and less, forcing fewer workouts, taking extra rest days, really internalizing this crap when I'm trying so hard not to! I tell…

Thinning hair
If you’ve lost hair with weight loss and/or stress, has anything helped it regrow? I lost a few pounds kind of fast in the fall, and at the same time had some intense job stress. Now a few months later, I think my hair is thinning out and I’m wondering if I can help prevent more or help it regrow. I’m taking a multi, iron,…

Saying hello
I’ve lurked all July and finally saying hi. Lowered my carbs when I joined and have felt SO much better almost immediately. I played around with more standard macros for a year. My life struggle is binge eating and binge/restrictive cycles. Also fatigue issues. It’s just tentative success but I dropped 5-6 pounds of mostly…

Recomp success stories?
I haven’t posted in a while. I’m a great maintainer, suck at keeping a big deficit, but I’m happy with my weight and size. I got back under pre-preg weight and size and now I just want to lose a little more fat. So I decided to recomp, keep a tiny deficit and lean out. I had some great results in the first 9 months but…

Anyone feeling overwhelmed and just wondering how to manage it? Do you have things you do that help when you feel this way? I used to stress eat all day when I felt like this. I know I have to deal with the feelings if the stress eating urge is ever going to go away!

Primal meal planning for the whole family
I'm looking for ideas and solidarity! Are you the only primal or paleo eater in your family or social group and are you in charge of feeding others? I feed a family who eat grains and dairy; my husband and teenager live for ice cream, pizza and fries. I quietly did two Whole30s in the last year and have the meal planning…

Temptation - does it ever get easier?
Does constantly being around temptation EVER get easier? I'm six months into this and I still have trouble around my family's snacks and takeout. I expected that once I had some success it might get easier but - maybe I'm at a low point here - but it hasn't gotten easier, in fact I am exhausted from cooking wholesome meals…

Kombucha
I'm curious about kombucha after trying it last week and loving it. Does anyone drink it regularly? Does anyone make it? I'm just learning about fermented foods and have always enjoyed them; anyone have opinions on the benefits as a probiotic?

How much caffeine do you drink?
How much caffeine do you drink and do you find it helps or hiders your weight loss (or other goals)? Does it interrupt your hunger in any good or bad ways? Need advice about my activity level and cal goals
I'm confused about whether to be "lightly active" or "active" for my activity level. I work four days a week on my feet. I work out 5 days a week for 30-90 minutes (probably 45 minutes on average) jogging or resistance training. I also walk my dogs a few days a week and I have a toddler and lots of housework. My calorie…

What does this new "woo" button mean?
So we have a new button to click to respond to comments. It is a smiley face that says "woo." Is this "woo" like in quack ideas as I've seen them called here on MFP? Is the face laughing? Or is the face smiling and saying "woo" as in "woo hoo?"

Living w/ less added sugar
Does anyone want support and accountability for living a life with fewer or no added sugars? Some of us feel better and achieve our goals more easily when we're not consuming added sugars. For others, it's a medical necessity. I'm looking for support and accountability, and also to share tips and success stories here!

20-Day Sugar Free Challenge - June
Hi all, some of us did this in May and there was interest for a June group, so here we go! Anyone want to challenge themselves to try cutting added sugars and artificial sweeteners out for the next 20 days? Edit: I just saw there's a June group similar to ours - maybe we should combine instead.

Spinning (cycling class) and knee pain
I'm looking for advice for taking care of my knees in spin class. I have moderate tendinitis from patelofemoral joint overload. In the past Spinning has sometimes been fine for my knees and has sometimes made them hurt. Any thoughts? Another question: when I had SI joint issues Spin was not great for this either. It's no…

Weight loss alternating with inches lost?
I'm fairly new here and could us some insight. I seem to alternate weeks when I lose inches and feel stronger in my workouts with no weight lost, and I have weeks when I lose weight a little more steadily. Is my this a natural recomposition happening? I have never formally tried to do this and don't particularly want to, I…

Support for learning to eat regularly to lose the last 10 lbs
Hi all, I am kind of new here. I have real trouble eating during the day. Right now I am actually feeling scared to eat. Sometimes once I start eating I just can't stop! I was a successful intermittent faster but my weight plateaued and I started eating too much in the evenings, hitting a plateau. A Whole30 forced me to…
