Running & Dinner
Hi. I'm trying to run twice a week (maybe 3 times eventually). So once on the weekend and once during the week. Problem right now with during the week is I can only run at 7pm once hubby is home re the kids. But what do I do about dinner? Eat at 5 and hope I've digested enough so that I don't feel nauseous? But what about…

HRM shows funny numbers
Hi. I've had a Polar HRM and watch for nearly a year now, FT4. The past month while I'm exercising my watch (HRM) shows the HR "00" or else "69" quite often. This is obviously not my rate and its distracting me from doing my exercises properly as I keep pausing it and then pressing the continue button. Then the rate seems…

DVD - all rounder?
Hi. Does anyone have any suggestions for an exercise DVD that sort of targets all areas? Or as many as possible? I have a good selection of DVD;s, but they all really just target one thing... so its great doing them, but when I move from one DVD to the next I'm huffing and puffing or else can feel the strain on my muscles…

Does green tea make you pee alot?
About 18 months ago I was drinking alot of green tea, at least 2 cups a day at work. Then I stopped. I started again about 3 weeks ago and I have to go to pee so often! And soooo much! I have no pain and its not a few drops at a time, so can't be an infection. During the night I can easily get up 10 times. Its driving me…

Slow cooker
Hi. Anyone have any healthy slow cooker recipes for me please? Mine usually include things like cream and wine... Hubby is finally trying to lose weight, so I want to help him as much as possible with nice, but healthy dinners. Also fed up of cooking, so would like to do large batches and into freezer - hence slow cooker.…

Saving Calories?
Hi, how does that actually work? I get that it means not eating all of your calories for e.g. during the week, so that on the weekend you can maybe go out to dinner. But I thought we were meant to eat our calories each day to maintain/lose weight? So how does it work? Thanks

Protein shake or protein bar?
Hi. I would like to increase my protein with some herbalife - which is best do you think? Protein shake or protein bar? I'm also looking at value for money. Thanks. xxx

Should I go on Herbalife
Morning. I'm fed up, fed up of seeing the same horrible weight on my scales (I might lose a kg after alot of hard work, but it comes right back again). I recently increased my calorie intake from 1200 to 1400 (+/-). I only just did it about 4 days ago (yesterday ate way too much) and people say it takes a couple weeks for…

Do I need to chop off a leg?
To see progress? Or actual weight loss? I keep seeing everyone losing anything from 0.5 pounds a week to much more. I would be happy with 0.5 pounds. I'm lucky if I lose that in a month and for the past 6 weeks I have been at the same weight... I'm doing my best to exercise, eat healthy... so why is the weight not coming…

Stopping MFP

HRM - disappointed (confused)
Hi. I got my HRM last week and was so excited to use it today for first time at gym. I thought my calorie amount would increase... It didn't. I first did my warm up of 8min cycling - the calorie loss on my HRM was equal to the one of the bike. Then I did 30min of rotex - alternating between fast and slow. Slow heartbeat…

Bad back
HI. Does anyone have a bad back? I really want to garden (first time we've had one) and after doing 20min my back is in AGONY. I seriously could just cry. I had chronic back pain for about 14 years - had every test under the sun done, nothing found wrong. End 2009 I fell pg and back pain completely disappered and stayed…

HRM recommendation
Hi. Can anyone recommend a good, but not crazy expensive HRM for me please? Had a look at amazon UK and they vary from about 30 pounds to over 200 pounds! I'm more the 30 pound end... Don't mind spending money on something like this, but must be within reason. Is the watch type best? Also saw finger ones, can't believe…

Calculation on food package
Hi. My brain has gone totally blank on me... How do I adjust the nutrition data on the back of food packets, so that it matches what I eat? E.g (totally made up example) the package is 300gram of 8 cookies. 25 cal per 100 gram. How do I calculate what 1 cookie would be? Believe it or not, I work in finance..... My brain is…

Whats with the green tea?
Hi. I'm confused.... I just added 'green tea - green tea, 100g' to my afternoon snacks. But it is showing the nutrition differently. But its the same one I always use. You can see that I had it earlier today. How can it change? I've searched and there is only one 'green tea - green tea, 100g'. But if I change the date to…

Which calories to use?
Hi. I'm cooking salmon - 292gram. Going to eat half tonight and half tomorrow. Now the packet says 100gram is 235 calories. But if I enter 146 gram (half) into MFP, it comes up with 159 calories. According to the packet the salmon came in, it should be about 335 calories, give or take a few. Which one should I use? That is…

Cooking without skin
Hi. How come its better to cook your chicken without the skin? I don't eat the skin, but its so much easier to grill it with the skin on and then remove it. Does it make such a difference? We don't do skinless meats here and I LOVE chicken legs. Thanks.

Stress eating
Hi. I was wondering if any of you are stress eaters? I'm so jealous of the people that stop eating when stressed or sick! That is so not me. With just abit of stress - I want to eat. Basically things like chips, biscuits (can eat tons of those!), any snack kind of thing that I can get my hands onto. How do you stop? Thanks.

I've lost it...
Hi. I've been reading some old posts about how the calorie number never changes - you need to go back and input your new weight in your settings. But I can't find mine.... Where on earth did I input my weight and my goal weight|? I've checked my profile, weigh in etc... :-( Sorry, maybe its still too early in the morning…

What is the MFP journey?
Hi. I've read alot of success stories here and about the MFP journey and how MFP helped you. But is it all just about taking note of what you eat and exercise? Or am I missing something? I'm asking cos I don't really feel like much of a success at the moment or even like I'm going to lose anymore weight or that it will…

BMI query
Hi. According to the BMI calculator here my BMI target weight range is 47.4kg - 64kg. I'm 160m and 64.6kg. 64kg to me is overweight, but 47.4kg? Honestly, I would disappear if I weighed that. So how do they make that judgement? Ultimately I would like to be about 56kg. Thanks.

17 Day Diet
Hi. I've been reading through some of the posts and pretty much everyone (of the posts I read) is mentioning that losing weight slowly is the best way. But I've just started reading the 17 Day Diet book and in there it says losing quickly (in a correct way) is also actually good. What do you think? Is this true? I would…
