2 years later...original goal met (135lbs gone) PICS included. Still working
2 years ago I made a decision to live my life healthier. Joined weight watchers and later on just continued on my own with you guys here at myfitnesspal. 135lbs later, I reached my original goal weight. I am still a work in progress with a new revised goal weight. But I never thought I would get here. To those that think…

Comparison pics, 2 years and 125lbs lighter...
Still very much so a work-in-progress. But I was blown away by family comments about my weight loss this weekend. I still see myself as the 320lb person I was 2 years ago. Technically, I didn't start attempting to lose weight until Sept 2013, so I am almost 2 years out. Diet/exercise. Still some weight to lose, plus A LOT…

Obesity bucket list
I have no created a "bucket list" per se. But I have had several things in my mind that I have wanted to accomplish along this journey. To me this list is something that: I was scared to try, physically couldn't do, too self conscious, or afraid to fail bc of my size limitations. I have recently completed 2 of these. I…

My original goal weight has been met!!!
Began Sept. 18, 2013 at 322lbs. Today I weighed in at 189.4lbs  ahead of schedule HOLY CRAPOLA!!!! I revised my goal weight a few weeks ago to 175lbs by the first of the year. But never in a gazillion years did I think I would get here.

Excess skin after major weight loss...please be kind
Hey everyone! I was hoping to hear success stories about 100+ lbs lost and how you dealt with the excess skin. I truly think I will be headed towards surgery for it but I hope not. About me, started at 320lbs in Sept 2013 (6 months postpartum from my twins) , currently at 196lbs. My goal weight was/is 190. Even though this…

A disturbing look into my head about my success so far....
So I feel like I am in self-sabotage mood again. It comes and goes, I usually kick it so I know I will. Just not quite there yet. My activity level has been ok so no major issues, just bad bad food choices. I met with a plastic surgeon about 2 weeks ago in regards to a panniculectomy. I have lost 125lbs so far and have a…

Decent comparison pics...2 years, 125lbs gone.
I am still a work in progress. Still have quite a bit longer to go, and A LOT of toning needs to be done. But these pics are the closest in yearly timeframe that I have. Each year we have "Decoration", for those of you that aren't southerners, it can be called Homecoming sometimes as well. Its basically a get-together with…

First blog post...FEAR of success. Fear of failure. Fear of the #fatgirlbrain. 109lbs down and tryin
Hey everyone! I felt like I need some type of release. I am not sure what exactly it is that will help and maybe this feeling will just pass. I am hoping that others feel the same way about "fear". If you are interested, take a glance. Probably not well written but I am tense and not sure where to go right now.

I'm back!
Not sure where I went but I am back now. Wanted to update though I am friends with a lot of you outside the group. I truly missed reading the posts in this group while I was away. I have hit my 100lbs gone goal and currently sit at 106lbs gone. Though I believe this past week was a great one and my check-in will be…

a slap of reality.
Hi all! I have been lurking and present but not actively logging the last few weeks. My best friend lost her aunt at age 46. This was like her 2nd mom. Someone that I've known for the 20 years we've been friends. She was truly a selfless person that could brighten your day with a smile. The cause of death is unknown but…

Challenge Group
Hey guys! I have now completed 2 "challenges" in other groups on here. Both times I have been successful with reaching my goal. I really enjoyed the competition and consistency of logging with team mates. I also think, the current challenge that ends tomorrow I might be in the top 10 of weight loss! I submitted to be a…

Back from Vacation!
Man oh man, am I tired!!! Vacation with twin toddlers is exhausting and so much fun. We ate horribly with minimal water intake each day. I feel like my body was run over by multiple trucks. I think I gained seriously 5-6 lbs, but I don't think that is so bad considering what we ate. Plus I know some of it is water…

August 24th, 2014. Topic
Good morning everyone! Sundays are usually everyone's rest day around here, quiet :) . We had my husbands company picnic yesterday and it has shown me that the loss I have sustained is great. Our kids literally ran nonstop for 3 hours lol. By the end of the picnic we both just sat in the car for a bit to be still before…

Healthy recipe swap
Good afternoon everyone! I am in a rut lately trying to think of healthy eating recipes. So I thought, what are some of your favorite recipes or a go-to meal. We are currently in a ground turkey taco/nacho (high fiber tortillas), tuna patties/tuna salad rotation. Getting old, quickly.

This was brought to my attention
Several friends/family have commented recently on my weight loss. 71lbs. I started last Sept. So not quite a 100 in a year which was my hope but still better damn good. I still see myself the 320lb girl in the first photo. My husband convinced me to take a selfie when recently trying on "normal" girl jeans. Yeah theyre…

Stalled
I have been maintaining the same weight for several weeks now. Increased exercised and still eating about 1600-1700 calories a day (as suggested on here). Any suggestions on how to break this and start trending down again? I have increased fiber and water intake as well.

July 19, 2014
Good morning everyone! It's a early rainy Saturday morning here. My daughter woke up way to early and I'm hoping she'll go back to sleep soon lol. I was going to avoid it at all costs but decided I probably needed to see it in the numbers. I had a great am yesterday and really a good day but I ended up binging again. I ate…

c25k
It looks like Patrick is starting this program soon, but I have contemplated doing this for a long while. I have several friends who are big into doing 5k and I always feel slightly jealous :) . Has anyone else tried this and were you able to keep up with the recommended times each week? I keep thinking, there is no way I…

Exercise
I am having a hard time getting back with regular exercise. The last few weeks have been extremely stressful with my step-daughter moving back to her bio-moms...Now that, that is over and things are going well (a week in), I was hopeful to adjust to our new normal with just our twins. The local fitness group classes that I…

Feeling rough
Last week, I was super motivated to work out more and eat great. I accomplished both and maybe worked out too much for my current activity level...I was/am so sore that I can barely walk lol. I try to go to a local fitness group when I can to do classes but they have started a 10 min. daily workout challenge, it started 6…

Swimming
Hi all! I have been contemplating going swimming laps for cardio prior to work (0530-0630ish). I am obese and enjoy swimming, years ago was a pretty decent swimmer. My question is, is this a truly good source of cardio if I am not the fastest or greatest swimmer yet? My PCP advised me to add some weight training or…

Lunch time workout
We had several patients cancel their appts this morning so it left us with a longer lunch time. Though technically I only get 30 minutes :) . We have to clock in/out for lunch. So I decided to do a quick 10 minute circuit type work-out from that our local fitness club posted on facebook this morning then went for a 1 mile…

swimming
AHHH!! Such a topic among the obese :) , the do's and don'ts... Anyways, at my physical the other day my PCP suggested swimming laps for cardio. I broke my arm several years trying to snow-ski, and still have some residual nerve damage/weakness mostly in my hand and stiffness in upperarm. I would say its back to 90%…

Recumbant bike vs. stationary bike
Hi all! I am obese and wanting to add another cardio to my routine. I walk regularly but do not have any type of bike. I have used a recumbant bike in the past and enjoyed it. Can any of yall with experience of each give me the pros and cons without a lot of judgement. Bicycling outside is not a great option for me because…
