Work Day Blues
I always start to lose my willpower at this time of day. It is about two hours from quitting time, the stress of the day has built up, and my mid-day snack has since worn off. And someone brought in some apple pie and left it in the break room. I REFUSE to have the pie. But every now and then the "pie-desire" begins to…

Carb Cycling Week 1
Hey everyone! I am trying out Chris Powell's "Carb Cycling" program from his new book and I am happy to report that I love 5.5 lbs after 5 days of following along with it. Has anyone else had success with it? I started last Monday and weighed in on Saturday, since Saturday are my "reward" days. I will be interested in…

Carbs with Breakfast
Hi all! I am on Day one of the Turbo Cycle. So far so good! I have one question though, I have been reading on the boards that we are allowed a carb with breakfast even on LC days. Where is this in the book? I have the Kindle Version and I think I am going to buy the hard copy as well because I feel like the formatting is…

Alli?
Has anyone tried Alli along with MFP? I know it has some "undesirable" side effects, but I eat a low fat diet, so hopefully those side effects wouldn't hit me. Anyway, has anyone had a positive experience with it? I'm wondering if it really does help to lose more weight. Thanks!!

Atlantic City Half Marathon
Anyone doing the April Fool's Half Marathon in Atlantic City this April 7? It is going to be my first half, but my second time participating in the race series. I did the 11k last year and it was an awesome experience. Well organized, a beautiful route and lots of goodies at the end! If anyone is doing it, let me know and…

Registered for the Philly RnR Half Marathon!
And I am so excited!! Anyone on here doing it too? It isn't until Sept. 16, but that gives me 24 weeks to train and I will be doing Hal Hidgeon's Novice 2 Plan. Since I have such a long time to train, and the plan is 12 weeks long, I am going to do each week twice in a row. Hopefully that works out! Happy running :)

Tips for the most stressful summer ever?
Hi everyone! This time of year used to be what I would look forward to the most. Summer! Great weather, trips with my friends and family and BBQs (healthy food of course :p ) But this summer is going to be a complete 180 degrees shift. Tomorrow I graduate from law school and on Tuesday I start studying for the Bar Exam.…

Any Women Out There Have a Good Strength Training Plan?
Hello! I need to have a regular strength training routine, and was wondering if any women here have a good one that they follow. I attend a Planet Fitness so I have access to the weight machines and stuff. I guess I need to know what exercises to do and how many sets and reps. If anyone has any tips I would really…

Green Tea supplement question.
I was at Costco recently and bought the Green Tea Fat Burner supplements. I am following the mfp plan and working out regularly as well as taking the instructed amount of the supplements (the liquid soft gels). Has anyone tried these before? I'm just wondering what some of the results have been. I only started taking them…

Achilles Heel Pain
I started running back in January. I eased myself into it and took things slowly. Since then I've been able to run several miles and REALLY enjoy it. But, I've been having pain just above my ankle on my right foot on and off for about a month. I am thinking it is my achilles tendon and haven't run in about 2 weeks. Has…

Push-Up Help!
I suck at push ups. I can't even do the wimpy "on your knees" version well. Are there any ways for me to gain the upper body strength I need to do them? I have access to a gym, so if there are any weight machines I should be doing that would be great! Or is it just practice makes perfect? Thanks everyone!!

August- Why are you so awful?
August has not been kind to me in the weight loss department. I was down 87lbs on July 16th. (I lost 8 lbs in one week because I had a wisdom tooth removed and a root canal in the same week. Needless to say, all I was eating was Italian ice and ice cream haha). Anyway, since then I have gained back about 4 1/2 lbs. I know…

Steak?
Hi everyone! I've always disliked steak until last Friday when out of desperation I decided to try my aunt's London broil and LOVED it! So now apparently I like steak. As long as it's well-done that is. :) Since I am new to the steak world, I was wondering if it is something I should start incorporating into my diet, or…

Annoying Week!
Two weeks ago I lost almost 8 lbs because I had my wisdom teeth out, so I was not eating a lot and when I was, It was basically liquids and ice cream. Last week and this week I have gained about 3 lbs back and cannot seem to control myself around the office's candy dish. (I'm logging every bit, but I still shouldn't be…

100 LB Party
I started losing weight and actually engaging in a healthy lifestyle (no fast foods, eating nutritious foods, exercising) on Aug. 1, 2010. Since that time I've lost 87 lbs. I've never felt better about myself in my life! I've decided that when I get to the 100lb mark, I am going to have a "100 lbs Party." It will be a…

No Chip Challenge!
Throughout the past year I have cut out all fast food (aside from a turkey sub at subway) and I genuinely don't miss it. I think the next thing I want to eliminate from my diet are "chips." This includes potato chips, baked snacks, the "organic" "healthy" puffed corn snacks and pretzels. Although they are fine if you stick…

My Weekend Pledge!
Hey everyone! I feel like I need to publicly pledge to all of you lovely people that this coming weekend I will NOT lose all control and eat ridiculous amounts of bad food. I have done this the past few weekends and I am holding up my progress. For example: This Tuesday is my birthday, so I went home for the weekend and we…

Will the Flab go away?
Has anyone had any "flab" experience? My highest weight was 304 lbs. I've lost 70 lbs so far and would really love to see some of the flab melt away along with the pounds, but apparently it is happy destroying my sleeveless shirt hopes and dreams. Is there hope that it will go away with strength training/weights workouts?…

Hi everyone! It's my first day of officially using MFP! I'm excited because I had some major diet plan fatigue from the other program I was doing, so this should be successful. Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Hello All!
Hello! I am hoping MFP will help me break through a really frustrating weight loss plateau that I have been going through this past month. I've lost almost 70 lbs since August and have been losing and re-gaining the same stupid pound for the last month. Very annoying. I feel confident that this site and all of you lovely…
