Round 24
Goal Weight Round 24 - 107 lbs (~1 lb loss)
Date/Weight/Comment
11/29 - 108
11/30 - 107.8 (made horrible food and activity choices yesterday last night - gotta focus or I'll be up/down the entire round 24)
12/01 - 109 - another horrible food and activity day
12/02 - 107.7 - I have been eating more than 1500 Calories every day, staying active/busy but not working on fitness. No weight loss expected with these behaviors. Hopefully today I will keep connected to my needs and desires.
12/03 - 107 lbs
12/04 - 107.3 Yesterday I finally made it down to 1500 calories. I need to do this daily to reach my 2017 goal! Planning on it
12/05 - 106.5 !!! - I reviewed my food record and found a food/calorie error. I have been super close to 1500 calories these past 4 days which explains the weight loss. Started jumping rope yesterday. So much FUN!

R23 * Start = 142.0 * End 139.6
R24 * Start = 140.0
11/29 - 140.0 - up a squidge, got ambushed by work on an already busy day yesterday: got stressed, no workout, ate 600 extra calories ABOVE MAINTENANCE at the end of the day. Working on being really sensible and sneaking in some extra calorie burning (stairs at work!) today.
11/30 - 139.4 - another tough day yesterday. No workout, to bed early, planning to get my mojo back on today.
12/1 - 138.6 - lowest in over a year! Under calories yesterday and 40 minute workout, elliptical plus stairclimber. Sweating helps my emotional state SO MUCH.
12/2 - 138.8 - under calories and ran 34 minutes yesterday. Think I am dehydrated, drink drink drink!
12/3 - 138.2 - yesterday under calories, ran 30 minutes, stairclimber. Still dehydrated, working on it.
12/4 - 138.6 - finally rehydrated - Yesterday under calories, ran FIVE MILES which is big for me now. Made the healthiest arugula pizza in the world.
12/5 - 138.4 - ate just under my .5 a week loss calories yesterday, 30 minute elliptical. Awake since 3:30AM, not sure what's up, there goes my plan to cut out my energy drink at work Have to be careful today, no time for a serious workout in the schedule.

I weigh first thing in the morning when I get up. My scale only has 1/2# increments, and I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale. Comments reflect prior day. Previous round EW 162.0 LW 162.0R20 SW 166.0 10/20/17 (my round 1)

R23 EW 162.0 LW 162.0 = included parade day & Thanksgiving, no food/drink loggedRound 23 (previous round)
11/19: 165.0 Expected jump from parade day. Staged holiday parade in a.m. Gave myself day off from logging & to imbibe / eat whatever I wanted. Drank adult beverages, ate restaurant meal and treats at home. Totally worth it! Walked dog 2.83 miles in afternoon. Fitbit 14,794 steps, 250+ steps 9/14 hours and 19 floors.
11/20: 163.5 Net calories red 18, sodium red 647 (ack) but sugar green (yay), 12c water. Walked dog 3.26 miles. Fitbit 13,815 steps, 250+ steps 11/14 hours & 29 floors.
11/21: 162.5 Net calories & sodium green, 11c water. Walked dog 3.4 miles before work. Fitbit 15,951 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 hours (one hour at optometrist) & 31 floors.
11/22: 162.5 Non-dog walk day. Paced in office during webinar. Fitbit 13,083 steps, 250+steps 13/14 hours & 28 floors. Net calories, sodium, carbs all red. 13c water.
11/23 = Thanksgiving Day (US) 162.5 Walked dog 3.06 miles before work. Fitbit 15,055 steps, 250+steps 13/14 hours (one hour in church) & 40 floors. Net calories green & 12c water.
11/24: 162.5 Weight is big surprise day after Thanksgiving. A day off from logging adult beverages & food for me, and ate what I loved (just not as much), limited wine to one glass. Felt absolutely stuffed after dinner, can't eat like I used to, which is an excellent thing. Ate very small pieces of pie (couldn't resist apple & pumpkin) later for dessert and no supper, just ate hard boiled egg for late evening snack. As planned, walked dog 3 miles before travels (had 5 1/2 hours round trip in car) & drank plenty of water = 14c. Fitbit 10,102 steps, 250+ steps 5/14 hours (yikes, that was sedentary) & 5 floors.
11/25: 163.0 Net calories green (barely) & 12c water. Walked dog 4 miles & raked backyard for final time this year. Fitbit 17,908 steps, 250+ steps 10/14 hours & 46 floors.
11/26: 164.5 Gave in to way too many Cheetos as evening snack w/ hubby & net calories / sodium very red. Non-dog walk day, lazy Sat. & movie date w/ hubby, felt good to have an easy day. Fitbit 3,851 steps (ack!), 250+ steps 7/14 hours, 6 floors & 10c water. Still, very happy to stay under 165, there is no target date.
11/27: 163.0 Net calories green but sodium very red & 14c water. Walked dog 3.62 miles. Fitbit 13,663 steps, 250+ steps 11/14 hours & 33 floors.
11/28: 162.0 Non-dog walk day (Packers played Sun. night game). Fitbit 7,685 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 hours & 31 floors. Net calories green, sodium red & 15c water. Next round, here I come!
11/29: 161.5 Walked dog 3.09 miles before work. Fitbit 17,682 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 (boom) hours & 36 floors. 14c water / not sure about net calories, had to guestimate for wine tasting and appetizers sampled at spa open house, totally worth it.
11/30: 162.0 Happy hour w/ 1 pint beer & dinner at Mexican restaurant / net calories -810 (guestimated) and sodium sky high / 15c water. Walked dog 3.07 miles before work. Fitbit 13,444 steps, 250+ steps 13/14 hours & 38 floors.
12/01: 160.5 Net calories green & 15c water. Walked dog 3.08 miles before work. Fitbit 14,665 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 hours (boom!) & 41 floors.
12/02: 161.0 Walked dog 3.39 miles. Fitbit 13,041 steps, 250+ steps 10/14 hours (day off work for washer & dryer delivery & classic holiday movie date with hubby) & 13 floors. Net calories w/i 100 green & 10c water.
12/03: 161.0 Walked the Jingle Bell 5K with chip time of 44:37 and average pace of 14:22, beating my goal of 45 minutes. Woohoo! Then walked dog in afternoon 2.65 miles. Fitbit 19,155 steps, 250+ steps 10/14 hours & 20 floors. Net calories w/i 100 green & 12c water.
12/04: 161.0 Net calories -110 & 14c water. Walked dog 3.27 miles. Fitbit 16,955 steps, 250+ steps 12/14 hours & 32 floors.
12/05: 161.0 Non-dog walk day / Fitbit 8,455 steps, 250+ steps 12/14 hours & 33 floors. Net calories green (barely) & 14c water.

Since my scale only has 0.5# increments, I can easily gain or lose 2# in one day. Usually depends on net calories being red vs. green, sodium & fiber content & amount of water I drink. Oh, and sometimes an adult beverage.4 -
@Leroyoliver , @nikki062181 and @cyranda63 I have realized through these challenges that getting “stuck” is what I do. I hovered for a long time (in the past) at my current weight so I am curious to see how long this phase sticks. Keep your mind in the game. I’ll keep doing what I’m doing and honestly, if I make it through the holidays and traveling and am still at this weight I will be happy. If I lose, it will be a first. In any case I know I won’t be back at 174.5 I started with last January.

I was not kind to my body during Thanksgiving week. Family visited the whole week so I really didn't work the plan. I'm back to running and lifting this week and it feels good.
Round 24 (3rd for me) Goal 169 - Goal met 12/1
Readjusted goal - 166.6
11/29 - 171.8
11/30 - 170.4 - YES! Back on track. Off to run a few miles and lift.
12/1 - 168.0 - Wow! I weighed myself twice just to be sure. I really think it's water weight. During Thanksgiving week I ate like crazy all week and my hands swelled so much that I couldn't get my rings off. And I really didn't drink water all week. I'm just glad to be back! I will be resetting my goal weight for this challenge round.
12/2 - 167.4 - Hard work pays off! Now to get through the weekend.
12/3 - 167.6 - Very pleased with today's results.
12/4 - Did not weigh
12/5 - 167.2 -9 -

12/04, 168lbs, YES, almost 3 lbs higher than yesterday! Surprised? Yes and now. This thing happens every month at around the same time.
12/05, 169.8, UP AGAIN!!! It's hard not to get frustrated when you know that you only had ONE bad day with your calories a little higher than your usual and your activity a lot less than the usual.
It's so hard not to want to give up but I am worth it, I am worth it, I am worth it!!!7 -
This will be another challenging round. I had surgery (cosmetic) on the 29th, and spending the next week recovering on oxycodone. I’m not allowed to do any strenuous exercise for a week, doctors orders. I'll have to be extra clean with my diet to compensate. Looking forward to staying 100% compliant during my recovery. No alcohol. Consistency is key.

Starting Weight: 135 lbs
End of Year Goal: 112 lbs

Goal This Round: Average lower than 114.5 lbs
11/29 • 116 • Ran 3.5 miles & lifted weights this morning. Surgery this afternoon. 3 servings of alcohol. 1700 cal.
11/30 • 117 • Walked 2 miles this evening. Day 1 post surgery & feeling bloated from the procedure. 1400 cal.
12/01 • 116 • Walked 2 miles this evening. Day 2 post surgery & still feeling very bloated from the procedure. 1450 cal
12/02 • 116 • Walked 2 miles this evening. Day 3 post surgery & still bloated from the procedure. 1480 cal
12/03 • 116 • Walked 2 miles. Day 4 post surgery. My weight is definitely higher from the procedure. But I've been doing really well with my diet. So I'm hoping for a drop off soon. 1350 cal
12/04 • 115 • Ran 3 miles. Finally the bloating seems to be going down. 1450 cal
12/05 • 115 • Walked 2.5 miles.

@quiltingjaine Yes, the key work. Or, "release" if you prefer.
The toughest part is that, in order to make my goal of 10% BF, I am losing fat plenty fast and lean mass even faster (I think). If this keeps up, I will lose ground and fail to reach that goal simply because of the percentage. I've been considering over the past week or 2 about how to substantially increase lean mass in a short time at the end, if needed. Guess what one of those potential methods would be...4 -
Day 7?! Gonna keep breathing myself through it. They say it takes 3 weeks for the body to form a habit. I’m trying to reset. And form the good ones. Hope you’re all doing wonderfully.

11/30 261.2
12/01 262.2 Ugh!!! Chinese food!!! Today I will drink all the water!!!!
12/02 262.2 I'll count this as a win. Spent an evening out for my husbands company party and TOM arrived. Definitely a win in my books
12/03 262.6 I didn't eat too much and I participated in a Santa 5k with a finish time if 50:12. I didn't drink nearly enough water, maybe thats why the gain??? TOM could be responsible too?? Maybe a delayed loss because I was surprised I had stayed the same on 12/1 and 12/2? I guess I just keep going and watch and see.
12/04 265.2 Holy Gain!!! I have no idea what happened there. I haven't eaten too much and did not consume too much salt. Hoping just a wacky TOM weigh in??? Hoping for a better # tomorrow!
12/05 264.6 A loss and a very restless night. I may need to just accept this 10 days is not going to be successful and just go into maintenance.

Greetings wonderful people!! Here we all are again! Welcome new friends...you're going to love it here, it's an awesome group, I wouldn't be where I am with my fitness goals without it.
SW - 182.4 - March 2017
GW - SMASHED it in October and now I'm working on maintaining under 145
11/28 - 146.2 - I had a major sodium and muscle repair water weight jump to end round 23...rolling 7day average from my Garmin app was 143.5
Day/Weight/Comment
11/29 - 144.0 - Coming back down. Ate and hydrated well yesterday but was still really tight in my legs from that brutal workout on the weekend. Finally feeling back to normal today so might see how the trails in the bluffs are after this warm snap and take the dog for a run this morning.
11/30 - 142.8 - And it's back where it should be. So crazy how the scale weight can fluctuate so much when all I did was change how much sodium I consumed and did too many lunges.
12/01 - 141.2 - I keep settling back here even though I'm not trying to get this low. Ate around maintenance yesterday...or so I thought...pizza and beer helped get the kcals up.
12/02 - 142.8 - back at this number...that's ok!
12/03 - 143.2 - didn't get much water in yesterday.
12/04 - 143.8 - indulged a little bit over the weekend...back on track today
12/05 - 144.2 - bloated this morning...not doing well with the water intake lately. Cals were good yesterday...active day at work but I haven't gone for a run or picked up my kettlebells in a few days.

I've decided that I am going to eat at maintenance/refeed for 2/7 days a week, which is why I am going to start using my average weight. I want to offset hormonal changes that occur when losing weight for extended periods of time that can make it harder to lose and maintain weight and I'm hoping to alleviate potential emotional stress of constantly being in a deficit.
Day/Weight/Comment
11/29--222.2 Still bouncing up and down. Need to mentally stick with it and not let the number on the scale derail my efforts.
11/30--221.1 Went out after work and had a couple of drinks, which I rarely ever do. Got home and fell asleep at 7 without eating any dinner. Feeling a little foggy this morning, I don't expect to get much done at work today.
12/01--222.6 My manager's retirement lunch was yesterday, so between extra sodium from lunch and the fact that I barely drank anything yesterday, this bump in weight was totally expected.
12/02--221.5 Up and down. Getting back to plan. Eating at maintenance today. Going hiking today.
12/03--223.5 Ate at maintenance yesterday. Going to kettlebell today.
12/04--223.6 Ate at maintenance yesterday.

First Goal: 170 ✔️
Next Goal: 159 ✔️
Next Goal: Hit a healthy BMI 154.4'ish... Hit it once, now to make it solid!!
End of R23 155.4
11/29 - 155.4 ... (16,300 steps) Slept well, packed my lunch, but not sure what dinner plans will be.
11/30 - 154.5 ... (14.790 steps) So my Grandmother passed away this morning, she was almost 95. I remember her laugh the most, she was always so happy to see us, always in a good mood. She had dementia the last 10 years or so and her quality of life wasn't very good lately. I hadn't seen her in some time, but would often think of her. I will miss her.... I love you Grandma xoxo.
12/1 - 156.5... Too many sweets with tea and a little stress. Not really worried.
12/2 - 157.7
12/3 - 160.7
12/4 - 160.3 ... Yesterday I did my first ever 5k race. I ran it in 36:49, I'm pretty happy with that number as I kinda stopped training for the run. It's a fun run called the Cinnamon Bun Fun Run and they give you a Cinnamon bun after the race, So good. I shared it with SO, who loves them (and me). I ate over cals for the last few days due to Grandma and wanted to give my body a few extras for the race. SO leaves for work in a couple days, I'll be better at cutting then. Need to see those 5's again.
12/5 - 160.9 ... Ugggh but I still feel in control.

This is no surprise as I feel puffy and seem to be retaining everything. Hoping for a drop in a day or two. We're going out for lunch, but I plan to drink lots of water and stay within my calorie limits. All is well.
11/30 - 148.6
Patience, she said. Patience.
12/01 - 148.6
12/02 - 148.8
Well, I don't get it. I've been within my goals. Thinking maybe it's time for a bigger calorie day to shake things loose. OTOH, I bought some new pants in a smaller size, so there's that.
12/03 - 149
Expected - I ate about 400 extra calories yesterday and am probably retaining some water (and food!).
12/04 - 149
I have a cold and have taken Nyquil a couple of times at night. I think I'm retaining water (although it seems like it's all coming out my nose!). There's also the delay factor from Saturday's extra food. I'll just hang tight for a while. I'd like at least to finish not higher than last round!
12/05 - 148.6
OK! Maybe I can finish this round lower than the last one after all. As long as I'm headed in the right direction, it's all good.

11/29- 146.08 A large drop but I'm sure it isn't going to stay. (just yet)
11/30- 146.3 Cautiously optimistic about the weight loss sticking. I just realized today, I am right about a pound over the top "healthy range" bmi. Can't believe I am so close.
12/01- 146.3 Walked to have coffee with a friend then spent the evening Christmas shopping.
12/02-145.86

12/04- 145.86 I have maintained the low weight for several days now, but the next few are going to be difficult since I will be away from home. Weather permitting I will have time to get some walking in, but I will be stuck eating out.

UPDATE
First time doing this! I'm newly pregnant and need the accountability to not gain too much too quickly. My goal for this round is to stay at my starting weight.
Round 24/1
SW: 156.7
11/29 - 156.7 Ate healthfully, even though most foods sound terrible right now. Was still able to get some greens and veggies in (which isn't always easy). At the end of the day I caved and ate ice cream and peppermint Jojos (from Trader Joe's). It sounded awesome, but I felt immediately sick afterward. It was a want, definitely not a need for my body--especially since I don't typically eat a lot of sugar. Did a 60 min. circuit workout at the gym. Excited for a new day tomorrow!
11/30- 156.9 So far, so good. Packed lots of healthy snacks and ginger tea for work. Hoping that the nausea subsides a bit. Planning to go for a 3 mile run on my lunch break.
12/1 - Daughter's birthday. Good eating choices until the evening. We went out to dinner and I overindulged. Tasted great, but didn't feel awesome later. Had a wonderful workout this morning, though. TRX.
12/2- Went for a run in the morning. Feeling great today!
12/3 -159 (sodium catches up to you!) TRX workout.
12/4 - 155.6 (Strange how much things change on the scale after a good night of sleep). Focusing on drinking water today and making choices to eat whole foods. Had a fun dance party with my kids this evening.
12/5- 157 Again, scale fluctuation. I don't get it. Feeling pretty confident I can get through this challenge without gaining weight from my SW. Three more days!
