Hello, MyFitnessPal has set my calorie goal as 1040, based upon my age, height, weight, etc. However, because I am not eating 1200 calories a day I cannot access certain features and I am being told I must adjust my calorie goal up to do so. There are a couple of problems with this, firstly, it appears your calorie goal…

Protein Powder Recommendations
Hi, I'm looking for a dairy & gluten free protein powder that is good for baking (e.g. pancakes, muffins, etc.). I have a very sensitive palette and I absolutely HATE the taste of protein powder which is why I don't mix it into shakes, and use other ingredients to drown it out in my baking (e.g. dark chocolate). If you…

Should I worry about a plant fat heavy diet?
Fatty foods are the only foods that really satiate me. I used to eat a lot of garbage, but over the past year, I've switched to mostly plant-based, unsaturated fats (nuts, peanut butter, avocados, high-quality olive oil, etc.). I eat a moderate amount of cheese and eggs (maybe every other day?) and meat when I can afford…

Whole vs. Ground chia seeds?
Hi everyone! I know sometimes seeds can be tricky for our digestive system to break down. That being said, are ground chia seeds better absorbed by the body than whole ones?

Carb allotment
Hi there -I just started this yesterday - I’m new to tracking macros and am having a heck of a time getting my recommended amount of carbs in to my eating plan - I went over on the protein and fat amounts but seeing as I can’t eat wheat and find that most grains seem to trigger an eating frenzy I stay away from them - any…

Fueling Before And After Workouts
What do you like to eat prior to and after your workouts? I just had a situation today where I basically "bonked" towards the end of my workout and ended up feeling very faint and dizzy. Luckily I was able to get myself home and ate a bunch of carbs until my head felt level. Don't want that to happen again. I had a protein…

Best natural foods to balance hormones
I'm a 44-year-old woman. I have been researching natural foods to balance my hormones, estrogen and progesterone. Based on research, I have started adding 1/2 teaspoon maca to my protein powder, which may help with estrogen. However, I'm relatively new in my journey and want to hear from other women. Does anyone have any…

More calories…?
Hello! Hopefully I’m in the right place. Quick question. I’m 64kg slim and I exercise probably 3-4 times a week. I’ve always restricted calories. Anything from 1000 to 1200 per day. On a weekend I allow myself more. My question is should I up my calories to 1400? And train more times a week? Would this give me any benefit?…

Do I log things that use a different metabolic pathway (ribose)?
I'm not quite sure how to write down this question as I'm not sure I really understand the whole process. I'm currently experimenting with D-Ribose (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ribose), a simple sugar, which, however does not provide energy directly within the blood but helps in energy generation within the…
