Feeling a little lost... can anyone relate?
So I hit my goal weight this week after 7 months of intentional hard work and years before of yo-yo dieting. It was an amazing feeling, seeing that scale hit "135." I've set fitness goals for myself to continue the path, but I'm feeling a bit lost. I think I imagined I would have these feelings, when I got here - that I'd…

Maintain current weight but lose belly fat and build muscle
Hi everyone, any suggestion on how to maintain my current weight(160lb @ 5'10"), lose belly fat and build some muscle. I usually fulfill about 2200 cal each day with food and protein shake and burn about 200 cal doing cardio and also do some weight lifting. The nutrition goal shows the following: carb 50%, FAT 30% &…

Extreme Salt Sensitivity?
Hi, I'm nineteen years old, female, 5'6, and fluctuate between 102-104 pounds. According to BMI charts, I'd be classified as underweight, which makes sense considering I've struggled with anorexia and binge eating episodes in the past. As a step towards recovery, I've been maintaining my weight for about a year now, just…

Muscle gain and fat loss using whey, what should I do for calorie count?
I have been very successful at losing a bulk of my weight. I am down to 155, 5 pounds up from my bottom. I still have about 5-10 pounds worth of fat on the waist line I want to see gone. I figure at this point I need to work out and tone. I want to gain muscle weight while losing fat. I am going to use Whey protein to…

Maintaining with pictures!!!
Hello, Some people asked me how my maintenance is going. So far, so good. So far over 3 weeks and doing great. I was worried as I heard that it was worse than the actual losing, but so far for me, I have not found that to be true. I guess alot is because I really did not change much once I got to maintenance. I eat…

I can eat 2400 calories a day?!?
Hey everyone! The other day my boyfriend bought me a polar HRM watch, the next day I put it on as soon as I woke up to see how many calories I burn in a day. The whole day I burnt 2400 calories. I was on my feet a lot and did a quick 30 minute cardio session at the gym but to say I was shocked was an understatement. Did I…

Is diet composition essential in maintaining weight?
hi, since I've read so many articles that says maintaining weight, losing weight and even gaining weight is all about calories in versus calories out. So can I maintain my weight if I eat,let say, 60% carb 25%protein and 15% fat? Does the composition matter? Or it's just really all about calories in versus calories out?

Possible weight gain because of strength training
I have lost about 20 pounds by eating very healthy, about 1400-1500 calories daily, and lifting weights. I'm now eating 1600 calories, still working out, but doing a new resistance program with heavier weights. I was either maintaining or losing about half a pound a week. Suddenly I gained 2 pounds, without any cheat days,…

Staying or Going?
As I've peruse the 'Intro' & 'Get Started' forums I see a lot of folks returning to MFP. Some just stopped logging while others stopped once they achieved their goals but has returned due to regaining weight. SO I'm wondering:* Do you plan to continue to use MFP & why? And how active do you think you will be? ie forums MFP…

Maintaining weight loss after surgery
HI I have lost nearly 60 pounds since January 2014. I did this through WW, MyFitnessPal and running. Unfortunately, I have had to have ankle surgery and it is impacting my ability to exercise. Finding maintenance calories!
Love this new forum! I just started maintenance a couple weeks ago, and have gradually upped myself to 1650, which is the MFP calorie setting for sedentary. I'm not actually sedentary, but I'm not super active either. I typically walk 8-10 miles/per week. I was wondering what everyone's experience has been so far with…

How often do you weigh in maintenance?
I just switched to maintenance (I'm in my 2nd week) and so far I'm happy with how well I've been able to stick to my calories for the 1st week. I even saved some of my calories up for the weekend (I always looked at weekly rather than daily when I was losing anyway.) My question is, how often do you weigh? I assume that…

Burning calories after exercise?
I know alot of people on this website eat back their exercise calories-as do I However, this method doesn't take into account the 'afterburn' calories, i.e the calories burnt after you finish exercising. In alot of studies, it has been proven you continue burning calories even after exercise (well, at least more than you…

Do we burn more calories in summer?
I am 25 year old and 5 ft tall and weigh 50 kgs. I have been maintaining quite well on 1600 calories for the past 2-3 months. But lately I have started feeling tired and hungry on that amount. Maintaining after great loss
Hi I have lost 40kg in the past six months, but now, I am eating 1500-1600 calories/day and after one month I have fattened one kilogram. I am 21 years old, 1,89m tall and I weigh 68kg, I am very concerned, because if I have to eat less than 1500 calories to maintain weight, I'll need to go hungry.

Approaching Maintenance: Musings
Over the past 18 months I have lost more weight than I ever dreamed possible, feel great, and fit comfortably into a (UK) size 12 (US 8). Long term, I'd be happy for my weight to fluctuate a few pounds around the 144lb target. My current TDEE based on my weight + height + exercise levels is 1824. I've been successfully…

Maintaining without tracking
I miss talking nutrition and fitness as most of my real life friends aren't into either and I find those of them who "diet" to be annoying (doing all the wrong things but resistant to advice). But I don't have the time or desire to count calories anymore. I rarely even get on the scale. But I constantly try to learn about…

Lost 60 Lbs, Jawline Has Gone. Does it Get Better?
Hi, I recently lost 60 lbs. Before losing the weight I had a very pronounced jawline and now it is soft on the side and just doesn't have the elasticity it once did. I'm 32 and I think it looks awful. Has anyone lost a lot of weight and had this problem resolve once their weight stabilized for a few months?

Post Thankgiving Maintenance Question
I did a lot better than I thought I would over Thanksgiving weekend with 3 family gatherings to attend. I was over my calories for last week by 2700 - 3000 calories (yesterday I did quick add calories so it isn't 100% accurate so I'm guestimating high.) I know that if I did this every week I would quickly gain back what…
