Carb Catch-22
Hey all, according to my profile settings, FitnessPal (and other sites) says I need around 260 carbs a day to maintain. However, I'm also teetering in and out of being pre-diabetic. My sugar intake levels are well below the target number, but I'm concerned that 260 carbs a day, though it will help me maintain my weight,…

Anxiety about weight gain on vacation.
Please don't let anxiety spoil your enjoyment of what should be a special time with family/friends/loved ones. That can include enjoying good / new / different foods as well. With perspective of time a temporary gain really isn't significant, mostly a quick gain is water related and if you do add some fat too then none of…

Lost 8lbs in a month - Losing all progress
Since all the gyms closed I’ve lost 8lbs. It took me years to gain that. 138 now to 130. I watch my weight drop almost everyday. My diet has not changed at all. The only change is that I don’t have access to heavy weights. What can I do to get back up?? These at home push up and squat exercises don’t help

Entertainment: is maintenance a trend line just like weight? When does it start?
@AnnPT77 wrote in a post that she has been maintaining x-number-of-years. So I'm wondering... how long have I been maintaining? When does it "count" as maintenance? A self declaration? A trend-line? A deliberate range? A stall regardless of intent? What #counts#? And if I am not the only one with these weird thoughts...…

Happy to reach goal but do you ever get the feeling...
Do you ever get the feeling that when finally you've reached your goal weight and you've lost all you've wanted to lose that behind every "wow, great job on the weight loss!" "wow you're so thin!" "you look great!" is actually a sneaky "I wonder how long she'll keep the weight off" ? How do you deal with that pressure? :/

Maintaining weight

Holiday weight spike!
I hope everyone had a great holiday season. How much did you gain (if anything)? I ate and drank everything I could get my hands on and gained about 5lbs since about 12/21. In addition to high consumption, I had a cold and stopped exercising for a week. I'm going to be curious how fast it comes back off! And, I want to…

Food Diary
Hello, Whenever the pie chart is displayed at the bottom of the page, could each section show its own percentage ? This would allow to keep an eye on the respective proportions of Carbs, Fat and Protein ... versus the Goals already set ... Thanks for your comments

Minimum, Basic, and Preferred Habits
I have been listening to the Half Size Me podcast for the past few months, and was really struck by the usefulness of this concept of Minimum habits, Basic habits, and Preferred habits, when maintaining your weight. Preferred habits are what your habits look like on the perfect day, including new habits you’re working on.…

How do you track food that’s untrackable?
I decided to have some mexican food from a local mom and pop shop and I want to track it. How do you track food that doesn’t provide a nutrition label? And if you estimate it, how do you know you’re factoring it in correctly so that you stay within your caloric needs?

Three Years Later
About this time three years ago I made the decision to start getting my weight under control - at 5'5 and 184 I was moving out of feels good and curvy and into "yikes" when I saw random photographs. I was fairly sedentary outside of organised team sports a couple of times a week, and I always enjoyed food and the portions…

Severely underestimating my calories?
I'm an 18 year old girl, 5'3 and 102 lbs. MFP tells me I should eat 1520 calories a day, and my Apple Watch tells me I only burn ~1500-1600 calories a day in total. However, I track around consuming 1700-1800 calories most days and sometimes I even lose weight on this amount. I work out at home for about 20-30 mins 5-6x a…

In Maintenance - what do friends mean to you?
For me I have friends who are losing and maintaining. It's all the same journey. We help each other and inspire each other. It's different than IRL or Facebook because we have a much different commonality. I keep a small group of friends who are active and engaged on their newsfeeds in MFP. It helps me keep my head in the…

How much attention do I pay to exercise calories
Hey all I’m trying to maintain weight but also exercising 5times a week which includes 30mins of cardio. I notice mfp adds calories to my day total during these workouts, which til now I’ve been adding to my tally (although not hitting them all the time) is this going to maintain my weight or put me into bulking category?…

Permission to Come Aforum?
Sunday started my 4 month maintenance/recomp period. This is part of my overall plan to be over-prepared for full-time maintenance... assuming that is possible. For several months now I have been working on habits, NEAT improvement, and trying to consider my strategy. It helped me to stop thinking of this as preparing for…

How is this happening?
I've been counting my calories for a good while now. I count everything. Yes even beverages and sauces etc. Usually my weight is pretty steady but I've put on a a few pounds recently (3 or 4 depending when I weigh myself). I weighed myself a few times to make sure. Ive been doing my usual thing so I'm not sure where that…

I’m Struggling...
I reached my goal weight in March 2019. I went on to maintain with ease, even losing more weight. I really thought I had the weight loss/maintainance thing down this time (I have a history of losing and gaining the same 10 pounds over and over). In December with the holidays, it all fell apart. I tried to stay “on track”…

Do you give into your cravings or will they pass? I was reading something about the beck diet solution and she says they will pass. What do all of you do ...?
When I was in the weight loss phase, on the very rare occasions I exceeded my daily calorie budget, I would draw a line in the sand for that day and "make up for it" in the next day or next two days that followed i.e. increasing my deficit on that day whether by way of exercise or eating a bit less. Now that I'm in…

Maintaining your weight?
I have lost lots of weight and gained a lot so I know how to do that. What I do not know is how to maintain please share how you figured it out. Did you start with the calories that MFP gives you to maintain or work your way up to that amount of calories? Thanks!
