Keep the curves! Curb the cravings!I
So, I know the key is diet and I’m pretty happy with my shape. But, I am having trouble maintaining a sensible diet. I have always eaten healthy with occasional bad food runs. I have been more proactive at keeping healthier “bad foods” around for those moments everyone person has. (gluten free cupcake or carrot cake cliff…

Can I deal with saddlebags even if I can’t lose more weight?
I’m 172 centimetres/5 foot 8 and I weigh about 53kg. I have a low bmi of 18 and I’ve always been lightly-moderately active. I have a low body fat percentage and am probably on the weaker side when it comes to muscle mass, although am a little on the stronger side in the legs for some reason. I carry almost no fat/muscle on…

Why do I get bloated in the summer?
I feel puffier, bloated and heavier since it's been hot outside. During the winter I have more definition in my stomach and feel slimmer. What can I do/take to help with this? I've maintained the same weight for months but my stomach is just not right. I know water retention, magnesium or potassium imbalance may be causes?…

Exercise in Maintenance
Hi 🙋♀️ I've just hit my goal weight (having gone from 208lb to 139lb) which will be the top end of my maintenance range. I am 5ft 6 Female. Throughout weight loss I've been doing the 30 day shred work out (several times over) once a day, mainly because I have 3 young children and a full time job so I can fit in the 20…

CICO at maintenance
Hi all, Not sure if there is a thread like this recently or ever but I'm curious about something. Those who are successfully maintaining, on average how many calories are you consuming and roughly how many are you burning through purposeful exercise? If you could please give me the following information I would appreciate…

Maintenance calories: 1420?
If I were to begin maintenance today, MFP gives me 1,420 calories (before exercise cals, which I always eat back). Can that be right? I’m 59, 5’ 4.5”, and I currently weigh 126.6. I work from home and am pretty sedentary when not actually doing a workout. Still, that seems incredibly low.

Does anyone slack off after they loose a couple of pounds or get close to their goal weight?
Like, "oh, it's okay to not be as strick on my diet today since I've been doing so good?" Then you gain weight and freak. I find I do this. Like whenever I get to x weight I start to slack off again.

Taking a break near the end
I am officially only 10 lbs away from my goal weight of 125 lbs (I am 5'4" btw). The progress has slowed down as to be expected but it has still taken a toll on me even though I know it shouldn't. I decided to take another maintenance break but this time only for one week(had one about a month ago that lasted 2 weeks) but…

Watching maintenance like a hawk
Just want to share some early stats from my relatively-short maintenance time which began on February 20th. I share this because there are some here who comment how they struggle with maintenance. I've previously shared this hasn't been my experience but that I'm doing nothing different on a daily basis than what I did…

How Do You Keep Your Maintenance Mojo?
I've been AWOL from MFP for a while ~ this maintenance lifestyle is harder than I thought, I was beginning to slip into old emotional eating habits (PUDDINGS are not the answer) I even fell down the rabbit hole of believing that I deserve extra treats as I'd done all the hard work of loosing weight. Heck I will not go…

Getting close to goal.
Lost 70 pounds so far, with just 12 more to go. I dropped my MFP from 2 pounds a week to .5 which I should have done much earlier but honestly overlooked it. My calories went from 1,970 to over 2,500. I am not taking in 2,500 calories but that is what MFP has it now. I just hit 2,000 calories today for the first time since…

Maintaining after quick loss - what now?
Hi, any advice would be great. I reduced my calorie intake to 1000 and upped my exercise to 6 x 60 minute fast walks a week from 11th March. 14 weeks later I’ve dropped from 76.5kg to 62kg, lost 5” off my waist, 4” off my hips -goal achieved and don’t want to lose any more weight. But I’m scared about increasing my…

Wrinkles?
Has anyone else noticed worse aging in the face post-weight loss? And have you tried anything like fillers? I'm 36 and I lost about 50 lbs, which I'm maintaining well and recomping. My body is varying degrees of wrecked (abs under stretch marks... Ugh), which I can hide; but, I'm kind of sad about the face.

Maintenance
I'm 21 years old, 4'11, Female and weigh about 116. I had lost over ten pounds since the beginning of the year. (its not much for most, but for a small body like me, it made a difference!) I'm not as active, I do atleast 30 minutes of of moderate to vigorous exercise a day, depending on how I'm feeling. But I'm home most…

Maintaining and water retention
Hello all, I'm attempting to begin maintaining for the first time, and have set my range to 127 - 132 lbs at 5'6" (at the edge of medium/large frame). I've been in this range for about a month but I have still been slowly dropping weight. I know that I need to increase my calories, so I am doing that slowly. However, my…

Maintaining During Marathon Training
Hello! I started training for Chicago this week! I want to track my food and be at a very slight deficit or at maintenance during training so that I fuel my runs but don’t overdo it. This will be my 3rd marathon so I know runger is real! What is your go-to snack or meal during marathon training to keep runger at bay…

Anyone else weigh in daily? My family thinks I’m obsessed. I feel as though if I don’t weigh in daily I can lose control of my weight quickly.

Maintaining and cutting out sugar
I have a MAJOR sugar addiction. In recent weeks I've gotten much better about slowly cutting out sugar and using natural replacements (ie when I craving hits I jump to an orange as opposed to ice cream). I've noticed that with less sugar I eat the more salty things I'm craving. I used to never crave salt, this new craving…

Trying to maintain for the first time, help please
I have been trying to eat at maintenance & not succeeding for the past 3 weeks. Using a TDEE I set my goal and began, at 17,100 a week (was 15,600 prior for 0.5 - 1ibs lost per week). After 2 weeks my average weight was dropping still by the same amount. So I increased to 17,650 and I've still lost on my average. I'm…

Post weight loss - tummy tuck/excess skin removal experiences?
Hi everyone. I hope this is in the appropriate topic, as I couldn't find exactly where it fits in. I am a 21 year old female whos lost about 35 pounds so far. Because of how big I was/am, I have always known that one day I will need plastic surgery to get my body where I want it to be (I know not everyone is a fan of it,…

Weight Maintenance Calories
I've never really dieted, but have thought I should lose some weight for quite a while. The My Fitness Pal has really given me a great tool and it's really worked. I've dropped 20 pounds (210 to 190) over the past four months and now I want to hit weight maintenance. But the app says instead of the 1990 calories per day…

MFP Tool or Crutch? Weigh-in
Have you ever noticed how challenging it can be to trust your own instincts when you reach your goal weight? I tried weaning myself off counting calories and weighing in everyday. After three days, I just didn't trust myself that I was actually doing the right thing. I jumped back on the scale only to find that I had lost…
