Asthma continues to be a pain in the butt, but I think it's more or less under control now. I managed to finish my first half marathon! And yes, I did put one of those annoying 13.1 magnets on my car, which I will remove, when I replace it with the 26.2 magnet that's going on there next year. I was training to finish in 2 hours, but at least I was able to maintain where I was at before I got sick. My unofficial time for 13.1 miles was 2:35 minutes, when I did a half marathon practice run over the summer, so actually, I improved by almost 3 minutes!

It was so hot today I had to wait till only about 10 minutes before sunset before even contemplating running. We didn't let the kids at work go run around outside all day, but then again I'm not 2 years old so I should be able to handle more heat than them It was probably about 31 (Celcius) when I was on my run, although I was running around a lake so that alleviated it a bit.
I think it's cooling down for the rest of the week, which is good because I need to run quite a bit to make my goal.

Awesome job on the HM! The magnets are not annoying they are way cool. You see them on cars all over down here. I saw one the other day that said 0.0 with "I don't run" under it LOL
Sorry about the asthma. My daughter has asthma so when she told me she wanted to run cross country I talked to her pulmonologist and he said definitely. That was 2 years ago and it has helped her so much and she hasn't had an attach in about 1.5 years. She used Asmanex for about 3 years and for the past has been completedly off it.EmilyStopFlying wrote: »It was so hot today I had to wait till only about 10 minutes before sunset before even contemplating running. Sounds like summer in Alabama - running in 95 degree weather is the norm Glad it's going to cool down some.

Just to reiterate what Skippygirlsmom said, seriously, sticking with running makes asthma so much better! I have it. Running was so hard when i started in 2011. And when i do get sick (I've got a 4 yearold in daycare, so all the time) it's a challenge. But I've been off my meds completely since May of 2014. And from June of 2012 onward i was only taking them for a couple of months surrounding illnesses. I stopped needing my daily regularly after 14 months of trying to run. I really wish someone had told me that running would improve my asthma years ago.
I ran a marathon at the beginning of the month too, so be diligent, listen to your body and you'll get there.0 -
