Well, I guess I'm out from peroneal tendonitis. Very disappointed, I was really looking forward to this winter training. At least I have time to heal between now and some runs I was hoping to target in the spring. So hopefully I can hit those by taking care of this properly now. I have been doing the ellipticals at the gym which don't seem to aggravate it, but I am not getting as good of a workout from them as compared to running. At least it's something though.
Give it time to heal and then start back slowly! The bicycle at the gym is good too and really helped me keep my legs in shape when I couldn't run.

I had a wonderfully fun weekend wine tasting in Northern California with my family and friends! I did not however get a single run in other than the one before we got in the car to drive up. I ran nearly 7 today and my work schedule at this point looks pretty light for the rest of the week so hopefully I should be able to get some good runs in every day!
    Date.......Miles.......Total
    12/01.... 6.40....... 6.40

First run in just over a week, slow and gentle 5km to test out my sore leg, seems ok.....
Great that you feel better :)

I twisted my bad ankle the other day. It was bruised pretty bad and I've been limping on it. I had to take a few days off. It is a little better today, as I am barely limping, but it is not yet healed. I am going to try and walk today to make up some miles. So far I am at 15 out of 60. Ugh this sucks.
Sorry to hear that! Better don't walk too much - if you are still limping, as you write, a couple days of rest might be more beneficial in the long run than a few extra miles this month.

Not sure I'll have time to go running tonight as planned, so I dragged myselft out of bed early enough to get at least a short run in before work. Rainy, cold, and, worst of all, still dark outside... I know it's weird when in the evening the darkness doesn't bother me at all, but in the morning I find it really annoying. Or maybe the get-up-earlier-part is the true problem... ;-)

    2.12.2014 - 5.0 km
    6.12.2014 - 4.2 km
    7.12.2014 - 10.5 km
    10.12.2014 - 3 km
    22.7km (of 100km) done

Today was so amazing — it was 41 when I left, which for a Florida girl, is very cold. But I ran so much better and faster. The breathing is so much easier when it’s colder I’m learning! Felt like I could go a lot longer, but sadly I did have to get back to get ready for school. Then when I got home and walked inside, it felt like a sauna! We turn the heat on when it's below 60

A neighbor found it yesterday and tracked me down last night. Everything was there including my cash! There are still good people in the world!

I had a feeling something like that would happen! Just like my husband's wallet! There are more good people than bad, although if you watch the news you wouldn't think so. That's why I rarely watch/read the news anymore!

So sorry! I don't know what that is... but just like I avoid the news, I avoid reading what all these injuries mean because I tend to psych myself into thinking I have something if I read too much. Hope it heals quickly.

Last week I was up every morning, excited to run. This week, sleep has been winning out. I'm not usually much of a sleeper so not sure what is going on. Probably doesn't help that I know I have Zumba at lunch so that I'll get some physical activity... Regardless, need to get going!! Will hope to get one in tonight, even if it's short! I need to break 800 miles at least!! And then plan to get up before work tomorrow!

You all are very inspiring! Great work! For those of you injured, heal quickly! And Elizabeth - I am so happy to hear that your keys, license and cash were found!

    12/1, 4.5 miles, treadmill
    12/2, 4.5 miles, treadmill
    12/3, 4.5 miles, treadmill
    12/4, Zumba
    12/5, 4.5 miles. treadmill
12/8, 1.5 miles, treadmill (&Zumba) - a pure frustration run (family drama), felt much better after!
    12/9, Zumba

    19.5 total; 70 goal

Looks like I dropped it on my way back in to my complex. Someone must have picked it up right away and put it on the wall on the opposite side of where I dropped it, which is why I didn't see it. A neighbor found it yesterday and tracked me down last night. Everything was there including my cash! There are still good people in the world!

    That's awesome news!!!

If it's not one thing, it's another. But after resting my tailbone for a week, I ran 3 miles this morning - back on track to get my 60 in:

But how did the SkippyGirl do at her race?

Glad you had a great weekend with the family and friends!

She ran good, but twisted an ankle early in the race. She finished 27th out of I think 277 runners, 2nd in her age group with a time of 24:53 I think it was. When 23 minutes came around I knew something was wrong when she wasn't back. She was limping some and said she stepped in a sewer drain and it twisted at about mile 1. EMTs took a look a said it was a minor sprain and taped her up. Later after we got home, she told me the girl running by her was elbowing her and slowly started to push her towards the curb. Instead of backing off she paced with her and when the girl elbowed her again and ran her into the sewer Skip finally elbowed her back and then backed off because it hurt. I told her when she gets hurt like that to stop running that she could have made it worse. She's too funny, she said "well I had to get back to the finish line somehow" LOL. Our next race is 20 December and I plan to run that. I haven't run since 1 December and I'm dying here. LOL thanks for asking!
