2015 Resolutions ???

I guess maintain, since I'm on maintenance. But that's too easy, since I've been doing it for almost 4 years now and it's not difficult for me. Hmmm...
Well, my husband wants to finish the Southern California "Six Pack of Peaks." According to the Internet, "This is a series of six progressively strenuous hikes up progressively more difficult peaks in Southern California. Done in sequence, these hikes are an excellent part of a training program that will prepare you for hiking Mount Whitney or other big, high-altitude adventures."
We screwed up and went out of order. You're supposed to start with the wimpy one and work your way up. But we've already conquered the tallest one, San Gorgonio, at 11,503 feet. I remember that one was over 17 miles of the steepest trail I can remember. We did one other, but I don't remember which. The total distance is about 80 miles. We should be able to find the time to finish them this year. Then on to Mt. Whitney, I guess.

My list of resolutions would require several posts, so I'll stick to the fitness goals:
- I intend do lose 52 pounds by next New Year's Eve.
- Fasting one day a week, both for financial purposes and the neuro-cognitive benefits.
- As ambiguous as it is, I want to shift my diet toward a more raw food oriented one, particularly with more fruits and vegetables.
- Become more knowledgeable about nutrition and exercise, both for myself and so I can educate and inspire others.
And if any of you lovely people have any suggestions for how I might attain that last one, I would really appreciate hearing it.
Thanks for the post, jim_just_jim, and thank you to everyone else in this incredible network for the support. Good luck and best wishes to you all. Have a great year.0 -

I don't really make resolutions. I always thought that if you're gonna do it, then just do it. If you aren't gonna do it, then don't set yourself up to fail.
The last time i made a resolution i started new years day. I said i would walk more so i parked my car in the driveway and started walking more. That was 2 years ago and the car is still in the driveway unmoved and rusting away but i'm really not moving any more.
- About 2 months ago i set a goal of wanting to be in good enough shape to buy a bicycle and actually ride in my area when the weather is nice. I live in a valley surrounded by 7 mountains so you can't exactly go without having a little endurance first.
- I also want to be able to hike around these mountains for hours without having to stop every 15-30 minutes. I miss being able to go all day in the woods.
So i suppose that i resolve to make my plans a reality.0 -
-Read all the books on my shelf this year
-Write one happy thing a day on Post It notes and stick to my door
-Lose 20 lbs (I'm aiming small on this one)

-Lose the 50 lbs that I need to lose
-Log meals/snacks every day in MFP
-Exercise 5 days a week at least 30 minutes

-Call and talk to my family once a week.
-Complete "One year to an organized financial life".
-Go on a hike with my daughter.
-Walk 10K steps everyday.
-Get 30 minutes of aerobic exercise a day.

-Complete on project a month on my 1964 F100 project.
-Complete on house project a month.
-Give blood every 112 days.
-Create a weekly meal plan and stick to it, including eating at the table and not in front of the TV.

-Be better at inspiring and leading my employees.
-Make a friend that is not a family member or co-worker.0 -
My resolution is not to make a resolution. Not setting myself up for failure. I will continue to workout, eat healthy and treat people with respect.0
-
-
starting simple
-log in everyday
-do not avoid weighing myself or logging just because I have had a bad day, that leads to a bad week/month/year0 -

> get off my *kitten* for at least an hour a day, as if that's hard. get back on my strength training and actually eat enough to build muscle gdi
> learn a new language
> live alone
> pet lots of dogs
> drink more water
> get back to college
> improve constantly0 -
There are some awesome goals on here.
Mine are, first and foremost, to be kind, particularly to my MIL who has dementia. Next, to continue to lose weight at a rate of ~3 lbs/month, with an end goal for the year of 154, and an ultimate goal of 140. To that end, I plan to walk ~3 miles/day->~87 mile/month, for at least 1050 miles in 2015. I will also lift every Wednesday and Sunday. Finally, I need to maintain my GPA even though I'm taking a heavier load and still maintaining the household, etc.
Happy 2015 everyone!!0 -
