Sorry Sylvia - forgot to reply to you about Madrid!
- I went there for my 60th birthday and really enjoyed it. I personally wouldn't go in the height of summer as it gets very hot there, but as you live in Arizona I expect you are used to the heat. :flowerforyou: Most Madrilenos vacate their city in August.
- There are also some old towns that surround Madrid, which I have always wanted to visit - Toledo, Segovia etc. I wouldn't say Madrid was a relaxing city, but there is so much to see. I especially enjoyed the Retiro park on a Sunday morning with all the strolling families. The metro makes it easy to get around. Low sodium might be a challenge!
- I realise you might be restricted to college holidays so the summer is your only option. :flowerforyou:

HiHappy new year all
I've just joined MyFitnessPal today in the hope's that I can finally get my weight and health under control. I'm a 52 yr old single mum of teen twin boys, I work full time and struggle to keep on top of chores at home. I have subsequently become an emotional eater Having once been a super healthy chick before kids, I give loads of good advice on eating and dieting to my friends but don't follow a word of it myself. Rather than looking at the journey I keep focussing on the destination and have failed at the first hurdle.
In joining MyFitnessPal I can at least be held responsible for my food and exercise. Hopefully some of you lovely ladies can help keep me on the straight and narrow while I travel this journey.
All the best

Happy Sunday everyone.
Caught up in the posts. Welcome to all the new people. There is always something to learn here.
To all those having crappy weather!! Beautiful weekend here... Rained - ice covered roads...sun came out and melted the ice on the pavements but not on the gravel roads... I guess living on the Canadian prairies you get all kinds of weather and get used to all the crappy road conditions all winter long.
Made it to the next town for the curling bonspiel. Fun time was had by one and all. The theme was PJ Party. We had a winning weekend. Won the A final, won for best costumes, and best of all !!!! burnt calories and my stomach is growling this morning so didn't eat a lot "rink food". The banquet was all finger food appetizers, thank goodness someone believed that vegetables fit into that category.
So today... need to clean my house and do some laundry. I want to go for a walk so I hope my walking trail is not to icy. A friend of mine is having a jockey clothing party so I want to go and try on some clothes. Need some good clothes for work.
Take care everyone.

Good morning, all! Had a post ready and it got erased! Going for a walk soon. Temp was lower than weatherman said it would be; certainly not 35 as I had ice in the birdbath to break with a garden tool this am.
Confession...........DD made those peanutbutter cookies with kisses in the middle last night and I ate one after closng my diary. In the "old" days (like last month, lol) it would have been much worse, so making some progress. Evil child.
I used someone's word.......savor.......this am when I wanted more after eating my plain yogurt with blueberries.......had ONE small sausage and "savored" every morsel.
Joyce.........I love your word (!!!!).....choice.......really, all of how we live our lives comes down to that one word! I remember telling my DD (even as a toddler) that the decisions she would make would matter and have good or not so good consequences. Later, that evolved to discussions on personal responsibility, etc.
Viv.........I hear you on the dog walking.........both of my basenjis absolutely detested other dogs bigger than themselves (except for puppies of any breed, for some reason) and had no problem dragging the walker to try to attack a dog four times it's size. On the other hand, they were scratched more than once trying to "bond" with cats........
Heather........Food for thought (sorry, couldn't resist) on the responsibility to eat all parts of the animal if one is a carnivore........hmmmmm......moving closer to meat free maybe if I think about that one. Love goldfinches; we participated in the annual bird count here several years.
Lillian..........Congrats on your victory!
Hello to all those I missed. Have good days everyone!
Hunger is not an emergency.

Yanniejannie: good for you for being able to stop when you wanted to!!
Michele: I can't find my post, but it should have said that we had Indian takeout, or Indian food, or something like that. Maybe there was a weird autocorrect.
Hope we all have a good day.

Good morning group. Cold in VA this morning with snow, sleet, freezing rain changing to rain in the forecast for next two days.
My husband's company had their annual appreciation dinner last night and I am proud to report that I stuck to my diet! No bread, no dessert, just cod, green beans and salad. They even had my fav dessert (cheesecake) which was hard to pass up but I did it! Only down .2 in a week but feeling better and more energy. Going to stick with it. Maybe try a few new recipes this week. If anyone has some favs to pass along I would gladly accept the help.
Hope everyone has a successful day!

Just getting back into MFP... My word for 2015 is Wellness. Is what I'm choosing to do (or eat) contributing to my wellness - physical, social, mental, spiritual? I have had some foot problems the past 6 months and it really set me back. It's still a problem but I'm now determined to move ahead. My physical goals - lose 10-15 pounds by June, heal my foot (weight loss would help that, I'm sure) and get in better physical shape. I'm 56 years old.0
-
Congrats to those of you who have exhibited good choices and determination to stick to your plans. I had a good day yesterday after 2 challenging ones. One day at a time.....
Mary (and others with a sweet tooth and helpful hubbies) - My husband keeps my chocolate hidden from me. When I really want a treat he brings me one or two pieces. He used to never want sweets. Lately, though, he gets into my "stash". So I may have to quit doing this in order to protect his health.
Have a great day!

New here, just started looking around the site after starting on Wednesday. Have been good about logging my food, excercise & water. I lost 35 pounds in 2010 on WW, and kept it off for about a year. Then, it crept back on, 5 pounds at a time. Now, I'm 8 pounds over where I started from back then...ugh!
So, I'm finally motivated enough to do the work & make the changes I need to bring my weight back down to where I'm not completely self conscious about my appearance all the time. Hopefully, I can accomplish that using this app.0 -
Good Afternoon,
Deb I like your word Wellness.
TNToni I keep my treats in glass jars in the basement. It makes me stop and think before I have one. That way there is less temptation.
Quiet here. Watched Leap Year again because it has Amy Adams and Mathew Goode are in it. The movie is better because of them. Mathew is being over shadowed by Benedict Cumberbatch at the moment. He too is in The Imitation game. Mathew is also on The Good Wife. I think Benedict is great too. I looked Benedict up on line and watched some the interviews he has given lately. He is really funny. There was a very funny one on Jimmy Kimble where he introduced himself by other names. I didn't get the Tim one until I learned that is one of his middle names. I also loved how it was Colin Firth who introduce him at the Globes. I was a Colin Firth fan well before he became so popular. As you can tell I am a big fan of Mathew, Benedict, and Colin. I also like Colin's brother Jonathan. You don't hear as much about him over here.
Heather I am curious are they as popular in the UK as they are here?
The other thing I like about Leap Year is it is set in Wales and Ireland. The landscape is just gorgeous.
2015 word: Strength
Just because you see the hook does not mean you have to bite.

Good morning. Not much going on here. Went to church, took a nap. It’s rainy here. Dh was going to start a fire, but I think he’s snoozing somewhere! Last night we had pizza (the kind cut into squares, not pie slices) and I had 4 squares, which I think equals 2 pie slices and salad. I did go over on wine though.
Janet: clothes that are too big! Hooray for that!
Michele my hubby has a TENS left over from when he had his shoulder replaced. I haven’t ever used it, but the PT said I could
Katla: glad your riding lesson was so great!
Viv did you feed that poor starving cat? LOL My cats beg more than the dog does!
Cynthia: thanks for the hug! Always nice!
Heather: interesting about the music. I’m so sorry that was a problem for you. I do remember the haggis story. We have a Scottish American society here I keep saying I’m going to join (My ethnicity is mostly Scottish) but never get around to it. They too have a Burns night. I have had haggis once…never again! It would be fun to stab it though.
K2boxlady: I too am sick of the resolution that never goes anywhere. After 32 pounds, I stabilized and hadn’t lost any more. So last fall I determined to stay on the right track and was being good exercising about 6 hours a week, then, wham! Dad died, daughter had a baby (not a happy thing if you have read most of my posts), brother had heart attack, sis in law had emergency heart surgery, and I injured my knee. I thought it was all better til NYE. Now I can walk for 10 minutes, so It’s doubly frustrating. So now my resolution is to never forget what it feels like to be so sedentary.
Determined: so many reasons to gain weight. Could be water retention. Could be you have more muscle which weighs more than fat does. Could be youre a bit constipated. Lots of reasons, so look to the long term progress and be sure not to weigh too often. Once is week is what the “experts’ recommend.
Suebdew: get well soon!
Jeannine: good idea to be fitness buddies with dh!
Sue SD: we love our old vinyl records… they have such a warm sound to them. I ‘m glad to see they are coming back
Sylvia: loved the second joke!
Mary: don’t worry about “blowing it”. That will only make you feel bad enough that you continue your binge. Tell your self it’s ok and get back on track. See if you can learn something from it, like what the trigger was or how you felt while doing it. Every person binges once in a while. The difference between “us” and “them” is that they go back to normal, healthy eating the next day.
Mary: my hubby indulges me too, not out of wanting me to fail, but out of wanting me to have something I want. He also goes way over our agreed “budget” for things like Christmas to get me things he knows I would love. I have talked him into not doing it so often. When he does now, I share and we both enjoy it. And then it’s right back on track the next day.
Joyce: after reading your post, I think you’d like this: the cops caught some guy on the interstate going through Omaha with over 700 pounds of pot in his car. His last name was Bud. OMG I almost died laughing when I heard that on TV. Can’t remember his first name, but the newscaster was trying not to laugh as he reported the story.
Well, off to try to be productive in some way. DH called the BF last night who confirmed she is supposed to go to the DR Monday but is refusing. She once said she never learns anything without suffering, so I guess this holds true. Wonder if she’ll try to remove her packing by herself? They both enjoyed the borscht….makes a pseudo-mother in law proud when the BF texts her FIVE times carrying on about how good the soup was. He’s a nice kid.
OK off I go. Meg in rainy Omaha

Meg - our haggis, tatties and neeps were fabulous! We have enough over to do it all again tomorrow! I made a whisky/cream sauce to go with it. I am over my losing calories , but still within TDEE. As I don't need to lose that's fine. Go join that society! And then come and visit! Scotland is amazing apart from the midges! ! ! ! !
Both DH and I have been "off colour" today. He with tummy troubles and a dazed feeling (I think he had a temperature) and me with aches and pains. I didn't get to sleep last night until 3 am with aches. I think we caught a mini virus off our lovely DGD who had a runny nose. We are feeling a bit better this evening.
My typing has progressed so I am now nearly two thirds through the novella. Today's section was testing, to say the least. :ohwell:
Margaret - I have always liked Colin Firth since Pride and Prejudice, and Benedict Cumberbatch is flavour of the month. Good, yes. Hype tends to put me off. :ohwell: My sister in law's brother in law's brother is Alan Cumming, who I think is great. We are friends with his brother who did a lot of our decorating while he was between jobs. While we were in NYC we should have gone to see him in Cabaret, but DH doesn't like musicals. :ohwell: It would have been nice to go backstage.
Good luck to all the newbies who are joining us. Stick with this wonderful band of women and you will see miracles! I have changed from a fat and immobile old lady to a slim and fit old lady.

Good eve, all. It's a dreary damp day, what snow we had, melted as it hit the ground.
Did look thru mail, but didn't try reading the many pages.Having a lazy day. Rainy Sundays suit me fine.....a newspaper,a nap, cooking a bit.....then time for a book & tea.
Grson started walking a couple wks ago & is now making it across the room.Love the videos. DD takes oodles of pics to share.
Been looking thru catalogs for a few new Spring clothes.Like to know what I am after before shopping in the stores. The older I get,the less wandering around I care to do.DH says that comes from him...... he walks in a store ,picks up what he went after & back out the door in quick time.He is not a shopper....
Heather, your Grkids will have lovely memories. Our girls had that with my parents.
Alison what about a part time job in a nursing home? They all need loving care takers.
We are going to watch a couple movies we have taped....If they are any good that is.

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY
Is Monday here and going for a drive out as all shops closed.
Mildred enjoyed her walk yesterday and slept fairly well last night.
Have done Wii Gold's Boxing and Jeannettes' cardio kick-boxing soon.
No idea what lunch is so cannot finish meals
Lesley in Tasmania0 -
stats for the day:
walking the kids on rustin (by the water where i live)- 78min, 3.6amph, 4.6mi =384cal
- easy slow day, kinda like a day off for me without having one.
i noticed on how "unchatty" i am in comparison to a lot of the ladies are in here.. i also like seeing where everyone is from and i think to myself, hmmmm.. if i were to go to "down under" before i kick the bucket, would i have a hook up over there?? lolololol.
i guess i just don't have a lot to say or i am thankfully not going thru the struggles that i used to in trying to loose weight. i must say, i am truly blessed because i do remember. i realized that i don't have an addictive personality so if i decide i am not going to have something, i don't, i just think of my fat self and say, do you wanna go there again? i am always having an internal dialogue with myself. i type all day which is probably why i keep my posts short and sweet.
i don't have a lot of friends on this site like i see other people do. do you ask for friends just so you can have them or because you have something in common with them (other than trying to loose weight). and when you get them, do they post stuff to you personally? just wondering and thinking out loud. beautiful sunny day here in the PAC NW.

Good Afternoon MFP friends. DH wanted to get out of the house so we rode out to DS's ranch to see the new baby calf. He is two weeks old and so cute. Came right up to fence like the other cows. It felt good to get out of the house and get some fresh air. Feel better today but my voice is gone. Thanks for the get well wished.
Tomorrow I plan to make good choices (Thanks Joyce) in everything I do. Can't do any better than that.
Gail - wishing you a speedy recovery from your surgery.
- Welcome to all the new ladies.
- Ladies in the NE stay warm and be careful.

Good Evening,
Lesley Happy Australia Day to you!
Heather Alan Cumming is great too. He is on the Good Wife too. He also introduces Masterpiece Mystery over here.
We went to a concert for Winter Carnival here. We had to walk a mile to get to the concert and ice sculptures. We refused to pay the $10 they wanted for parking. I got a good workout. It was all up hill on the way back. We have a week long celebration here plus an extra weekend to help us get through winter. It started in about 1886. After the concert went to see the ice sculptures that is in Rice Park. One of the oldest parks in America predating Central Park. Although no where near as big as Central Park. It is one city block square. My favorites were the flower of course, the mother swinging her child (didn't take a very good picture), and the panther.

Good eve, spent most of the day making Valentines for kids in my card groups.Nice way to spend a rainy day.2 days til my grand daughter is born, then I have another one next month, total will be 6 -5 girls and 1 boy

Hello everyone! I'm another one on that Colin Firth bandwagon. If he were on a dish soap commercial I would stop everything to watch it. And I love Benedict Cumberbatch too. He is fantastic on Sherlock. I can't even watch the other Sherlock show on tv now because it doesn't have him in it. The other one just seems silly in comparison.
We just got home from having dinner out with my son and the grandkids. The little guy - who normally refuses to hug me at all - flew out of the booth to give grandpa a huge hug when we got there. Ran right past me to get to him. He really has a special connection to grandpa, I think, but it still hurt my feelings just a tiny bit.
Hubby bought tickets to Madrid today, so I guess we are leaving on May 11th. Two weeks away from my grandkids and dogs. Not sure if that's good or bad.
Well, I have to get laundry done before Downton comes on. Have a great evening.

Hello everyone,
I'm back on track. Thanks for the encouragement. My name is Mary and I would have a hard time in the garden of Eden if the tree was made of chocolate!
I liked the idea of putting the temptation far away. We went to a graduation party and my husband brought some there. He also did away with the other. I told him if I had a melt down he could give me 1 piece. I think he just wants to make me happy.
MN Margaret - nice pics I miss being down in the cities I now live way up north. My son was in the pond hockey tournament don't know how they did yet.
Gail - I love calfs. Just got back from the farm Wednesday. They're waiting for calfs to come.
Pipcd34 - your workout reports inspire me.
Have a great night everyone.

Dreary and rainy today. Snow might come later. I had a good afternoon at work. Learning more each shift. I am going to work Tues., Sat., and Sun. this coming week. Now why did I think I wanted a part time job????
Mary - glad you are back on track
Sylvia - you deserve some time away. The trip sounds wonderful.
MNMargaret - love the ice sculptures
Getting ready to watch Downton with some of the rest of you.

Just heard about the big winter storm hitting the northeast US. Take care!
I often wonder why our weather channel reports stop at the Canadian border, like Canada doesn't have weather. Do they do that on the Canadian side? I mean stop at the US border?
Sylvia0 -
Did 50 minutes of the 10 Minute Carb Burn DVD. The plan for tomorrow (Mon) is to do some more of the Fit in a Flash DVD, hold my plank, and then take the extremepump class.
Toni - now that you mention it, I remember reading something about caffeine before a workout buring more calories. But I wouldn't think it would be THAT much more. Well, I'm not a coffee drinker and don't plan to start. hmmmm....some teas have caffeine in them.
Mary - how about chocolate covered strawberries? That might make your dh feel whatever it is he feels, but at least you can peel off the chocolate and eat just the strawberries. I'm so sorry that your dh isn't supporting you. I have a feeling that he won't change, so maybe if you give him a good alternative???? I know I did that with Vince. He used to always get me a bag/box of Dove chocolates for Easter because he knew I like them. Then one year I asked him to get me a dozen roses from this place "incredible Edibles". They take fruit and cut it into shapes. So he sent me a dozen "roses". I still remember, they were strawberries and in the middle was a mini-marshmallow. Lettuce was used for the "leaves". Yes, it did come with a jar of chocolate sauce, but I never even opened it. I have a zumba for my Wii, but I'm wanting to get the zumba gold. I just don't like all the twisting on my knees.
Joyce - you gave me a big laugh, glad I didn't have a mouthfull of tea or something because it would be all over my monitor. I never thought of a pot party being drugs, but it certainly made sense.
Welcome everyone new!
Phew -- avoided a downfall. I was thinking just now "gee, Vince needs some sort of "dessert, I'll have to make something and I just know that I'll taste it to be sure it's OK. Then I remembered that I had a pineapple/angelfood cake in the freezer, so I don't need to bake anything. Phew!
Heather - Many times Vince says that I'm going vegetarian. I'm really not, I'm jut not crazy about a lot of meat, especially red meat. But I do eat chicken and pork and turkey. I just like my vegetables (as long as it isn't loaded with sauce). Last night I had some brussel sprouts, they were a bit on the bitter side so I put a spray of butter on them just to see if that would help. It did but Vince commented "whenever we go out you always ask for the vegetables without butter". He just doesn't understand that restaurants put so much butter it kills the flavor of the vegetable, I didn't mind doing it at home as I could regulate the butter and know that I was only using a little. I don't think I could ever go vegan. Too restrictive for me.
Supposed to go to a Newcomer social tonight. Will probably leave in a short while. I did have a kidney bean chili that I made so that I won't overeat there. I have no idea what the food is going to be like. It's supposed to have a Polynesian theme. I know one gal is going to be teaching the hula because her mic broke and I'm taking one of Vince's.
Went with Vince to Lowes Hardware then stopped at WalMart. I asked him "don't you want any GS cookies"? I shouldn't have, but he likes them. He asked me if I wanted a box of the thin mints and I just said "no, because I'll pig out on them" so he bought two boxes of the peanut butter patties which I don't like. So that works. I probably would have bought some if I could only have gotten two or so, but in retrospect it's good that they didn't even have that small a portion.
Meg - we usually give our cats moist cat food at 3:30. They start staring in the kitchen around 2! You'd think they were starving to death! That was so nice of you to make that borscht for your daughter!
Pat - your dh and mine are the same way. Vince walks into a store (actually, so does Jessica), gets what he wanted and he's out. Not me. I can spend hours browsing, checking everything out.
Karen - good for you passing up that cheesecake.
Went to the social tonight from Newcomers. I really don't like when they put the food on your plate, I know one lady was not pleased that I took the spoon she was serving the fruit with while she was serving something else and put twice as much fruit on my plate as she would have given. They had a rice, I asked for just a small amount but that's not what I got. However, I only ate about 2 bites and threw the rest away. I didn't want any of the macaroni/potato salad (that's how they make it in Hawaii, they mix both together), I'm not big on potato salad anyway (really, I never eat it). Had a bit of chicken and about two mouthfuls of pork (I didn't think it was very good). For dessert had a pizzelle and some more fruit. Only had water to drink.
pipcd - don't worry about not being "chatty". We love you just the way you are. Love how you post your workouts
Boy, having that bean chili this afternoon really filled me up. I'm STILL full.
At the social tonight one guy came up to me and asked if he could be vice president. He was the one who was adamant about not wanting to do it. I had to ask him to repeat himself three times, I want him to be absolutely sure. Now that we have a vp, I'm going to have to call Mike and ask him if he wouldn't mind being a co-vicepresident. What a dilemma! I usually ask people to be my "friend" here usually because we have something in common outside of weight loss. Or sometimes it's because I particularly like a person's posts.
Lesley - happy Australia Day!
Margaret - awesome ice sculptures. Thanks for sharing.

The reason most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want the MOST for what they want at the MOMENT.
My word for 2015 is "now"---I won't wallow in the past or waste time worrying about the future
This has been a busy day filled with paperwork, shopping at Costco, walking dogs, laundry, and riding the exercise bike while watching figure skating on TV. Not much time for the computer.

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding.
* Tori, I cruise out of Charleston on Feb 7th. Going with a girlfriend as DH doesn’t even want to try a cruise. We go to Nassau, Freeport and Grand Turk. It’s a 7 day cruise that we went on last year and I’m really looking forward to it. I’d love to go to some other islands but it’s so convenient to take the 2 hour drive down to Charleston and hop on the ship and that’s the only place they cruise to.
*Mary, remember someone’s word, “Now”. When you catch yourself (or see yourself?) in one of those modes, talk to yourself and try to make a change “now”. I’d hate it if you gained back what you have lost. You can do this!! Happy 100th.
*Lyla, We are happy to have you with us. I feel for your back pain, but it sounds like you are doing all the right things. And I think walking a mile a day is fantastic! Good for you. Keep up the good work.
*Viv, I for one, enjoyed your ramblings. That is how I feel many days, so just keep sharing.
*Allison, I’m with you. I live in the south and we’ve had no snow but I am still ready for winter to be over.
*Karen, welcome to the group. It sounds like you know what to do and this is a great place for support.
*Debjaa, welcome back and good luck with your challenges.
*kymholly, welcome to the group. You sound like many of us that have lost weight on a diet and slowly gained it back plus some. The great thing about MFP is that for me, it’s a new way of life. I know once I reach my goal, I’ll have to keep logging my intake and watching what I eat and doing exercise so that I won’t slide down that slippery slope again. It’s empowering to know this can be done, as demonstrated by many of this groups lovely ladies. Good luck to you.
*pat, I have the same kind of DH. He has never liked to shop and would go in a store, straight to the item he wanted and straight to the check out. When we were first married, he had just accepted a new job and went shopping and got 6 shirts, shoes and two or three suits in less than 20 minutes. Can you imagine doing that? LOL
*Margaret, I love the pictures of the ice sculptures. I like the flowers, too. Thanks for sharing.
This afternoon I had a Charity “basket bingo” to attend. The prizes were all these really nice gift baskets worth up to $300. (I didn’t win anything) Some had gift cards to different stores, some were spa baskets including a gift certificate to a spa, some were holiday theme, one was all fancy chocolate, etc. The menu was different because it was Sunday so I didn’t get to order the grilled chicken salad that I normally get. I ended up with a grilled chicken sandwich, which would have been bad enough, but I ate the fried onion rings too. They had a huge table of deserts for the mid-way break and I did get about two teaspoons of them. Ice tea to drink and way over calories. At least just a salad for dinner made it even out for the day. I’ve gotten to where I don’t enjoy eating out.
Sitting in an uncomfortable chair for 4 hours was more than my back could take. I stood during the break, but couldn't stand and mark bingo sheets. When I got home it hurt so bad that I had to go to bed. Thank goodness after a nap, it was much better. I think I'll be able to sleep tonight without taking a pain pill.
*Welcome to all the new ladies. You are in a great place for support and answers. I wish you all luck on your journey.
My word for the of the month is savor. I have to slow down and savor every bite.

Michele - thanks for the idea of the chocolate covered strawberries. .. but, some insight into my husband he sells food for a living and a few months ago he bought me an 11 lb block of melting chocolate! One day you may find me in the middle of the living room floor gnawing on that bar0

Mary – Glad you got hubby on the band wagon with you!!! It might help if you gave him options of things he could surprise you with instead of candy… flowers? Cards? Sometimes it seems the guys need hints.
Sylvia – choice is a great word… I can’t remember do you cook? Or is it you that eats out most dinners?
Lyllathome – welcome , it sounds like you are on the right road.
Viv – my dog (Levi) is a handful too, he is reactive – he gets a bit hysterical at other dogs, cats, and other things his size… I walk him early in the winter about 6am in the summer 5:30am as than there are less walkers. Sketcher and the other manufactures of the shoes that were supposed to help you work out, were sued and it was found that they did nothing much.
Karen, Vecchi, Kymholly– welcome!!! Kymholly we are all facing that this is a life long life style change…
Pip – I think getting “friends” here is a personal thing, I have a few – but most of the ones I feel close to are on our forum. The “friends” I have are mostly due to something I want to share privately for some reason.
Margaret – those are amazing!!! I have seen other pictures of ice sculpture, but never be somewhere were there was enough ice to have one to see.
Sylvia – you stay with the Grands – I’ll go with your hubby!!! I would love to be able to afford to travel…
Only 6:30pm here – Downton starts at 9pm so dinner first then!!! Love that show. As you may know I have a housemate, and we eat together 3-4 weekday evenings (Sun-Thurs) I do most of the cooking, I am home so can do a crockpot thing or get something going in the afternoon, but today she is cooking, she really really THINKS she is being healthy, but oh my! So tonight is hamburgers on hoagie rolls with baked potato chips (crisps for the UK gang), and she is serving lettuce and tomato for the burger and not making them cheese burgers… So I am doing mine on a sliced sour dough – 2 slices for 100 cal. And I made some broccoli slaw with a non-fat yogurt dressing instead of chips.. I have learned so much my definition of healthy has really changed.
Michele your comments about chili has me craving some…that will be on the menu for next week. Did not get many steps in today, and did a bit of emotional eating, but will be within calories and will walk in place during Downton.
January goals:
Walk every day
Log all bites everyday
Do a fun thing every week.
