Unexpected results of weight loss

I sit on my balls now, they drop between the legs and get sat on, that was unexpected!54

I refer to my old self as "Fat Mallory" - because I was a completely different person. I made bad decisions: smoking, drugs, alcohol, fast food. I always felt sluggish, self conscious, depressed, anxious and cranky.
I love it when friends pull up pics and I'm like "oh, that was Fat Mallory," because I feel like such a different person in a different body, and a lot changes when you learn to love and respect yourself.

The really pretty size 3x panties my mom bought me last year because she "could not believe something this pretty came in that size so she had to buy them",fell down a few days ago.I have never been happier to lose my underwear and she was more excited that I was.I am twice my moms size and can't wait to be able to wear her stuff ( she has great taste)30

Last year at this time I wore a 24 pant and xxlg tops. Last week I was wearing my smallest pants...size 18 and I could shimmy out of them without unzipping them. Well time for new jeans. Went to the dept store and tried on 16s and they were too big to. Walked out with some darling capris in size 14. I haven't been a size 14 since highschool and Im 54 now. Wow.....size 24 to 14 in 9 months....who woulda thunk!!!54

I LOVE this thread!
My unexpected result of weight loss that really isn't unexpected is that I've gotten faster running. Last night I hit my fastest average mile time in a while, even though it was 80 degrees and sunny out when I ran. I haven't lost much, just 7 pounds so far, but I can tell it's making a difference in my running.15 -
Sex. Sex is a lot better lol15

That losing weight is like a train. It starts slow and it's difficult at first, but once the momentum is going it just does not stop. Habits and exercise and energy build in momentum and everything keeps moving forward like a freight train, and the only thing that can stop it is you.
I really love this one too. As a matter of fact, the train is so hard to stop that I usually end up losing more weight than I intended (twice by 10 lbs, and I was not large to begin with)!9 -
People are a lot nicer to thin people. I've been up and down many times and so many people just cannot stand overweight people. It's kind of shocking.25

I almost kneed myself in the head. Lol! My goal is a 50 pound weight loss. I am 26 pounds down. Normally when I put on my socks I would lean way back to give my leg a running start so I could grab it before my stomach made it fall back down. Well, this morning I did that and almost gave myself a concussion when my knee flew up very close to my head. You see I didn’t realize how much lighter my legs are and that my stomach is no longer in the way! I also got another surprise when that leg landed on top of my other one in a comfortable CROSSED position!!! It happened so fast I don’t if it scared me or shocked me. After I regained my composure all I could do was sit there and laugh hysterically. Yes…my husband was sitting right there watching the whole thing and thought I was going bonkers right before his eyes. I haven’t crossed my legs since I was a teenager. I have never posted on MFP before but I have been here every day laughing, crying, getting angry, celebrating, and rejoicing right along with you. I hope I can inspire someone like I am inspired every single day because of post I read on MFP. Thank you for unselfishly sharing!73

I think one of the things that makes me really happy and is a result of this process, is all of the conversations we have in the house, especially with my kids. While we don't discuss weight, we do talk about living a healthy lifestyle with good quality foods and activity. It's nice to be leading in a positive direction.
So happy find someone who is trying to teach their kids how to live a healthy lifestyle. I think things would've been so much different for me if I had been brought up in that kind of environment. Good for you!12 -

I work with seniors and Ive had a number of them tell me that they don't want a certain worker helping them because they're too "fat" it's sad but sadly it's understandable.2 -

Yes, Ive experienced this too. I have not been overweight for too long but when I came back to work after my 1st daughter was born and weighed way more than pre-mommyhood all of a sudden people would behave differently with me. Even people I knew for years. They would (pretend) they dont notice me, they are too busy for me, they would dismiss my opinions in meetings, wont look for my council, etc. Then I lost all the baby weight and oh miricle - i was all of a sudden a competent person again "eyeroll*15 -

Shared this post with my husband, even, we both had a good chuckle!1 -
Ditto on the feeling cold thing, although I think my body started adjusting a little.
Going into the clothes shop and being pleased that 36" trousers are way too big, surprised that 34" are a bit loose and then being absolutely gobsmacked that I can fit a 32"
Bounding up the stairs two at a time instead of slowly trudging up them one at a time.
Being able to try some new nookie positions without my gut getting in the way. (Sorry if that's TMI)
Being up for nookie more often.
Regular compliments from women.
Wanting to exercise rather than forcing myself.
Finding my vanity!
Once a year I go fishing with my friends for a week on a small island. One of the spots we fish requires a mile to a mile and a half walk. Previously I would arrive at the spot last, sweating like a pig. Now I forge ahead and arrive first, so much more energy!
My snoring has stopped.
Not so tired all the time.
Wanting to 'dress up' rather than choosing something that will hide my gut.
Being so angry with myself because I really should have done this years ago!
Far less 'gurgling' in my tummy. Not sure why that is?
My wife can't seem to keep her hands off me. Not in a nookie sense, she just seems to like sliding her hands under my shirt and rubbing my flat(tish) tummy when I'm doing the dishes. Smacking my bum as she passes etc.
How awful some of the junk I used to eat sometimes tastes now.
And this was really unexpected, colleagues and friends would be all like "Woahhh, you've lost a ton of weight, how did you manage that?
"Well I used MFP, counted calories and logged my exercise."
"Ah, well that doesn't really work."
*Me scratching my head* "Eh? You've just told me I've lost a ton of weight and when I tell you how I did it you tell me it won't work." "Ok then."

Viewing every set of stairs as an opportunity to celebrate and demonstrate the fact that I can now run up stairs without getting breathless, instead of panting and wheezing at the top like I used to! Who knew I'd love running up stairs?!?!17

I'm only halfway to my goal but it's already easier to walk around and walk up stairs. My knees have stopped protesting.12

I freaked out the other day because I could feel a little ball on the side of my neck. My husband felt it and said that a lymph node hon. You're fine.5
