For those of you on a well-balanced diet, does a junk food meal have a negative affect on you? Yea or Nay (let's leave out the healthy vs bad food posts, not the point, just a poll)
referring to fast food, McD's, Taco Bell, etc
Me...yes

Too much junk (like there is a cutoff somewhere, because I can eat some with no ill effect) makes me lethargic, craving for more junk, and affects my skin.0
-
What's considered junk?
Only things that have negative impacts are liver, cauliflower cause they taste nasty and a few things I'm allergic too. So I don't eat them.0 -
Flame baiters gonna bait.0

Sugary food makes nauseous if I eat too much. I never eat fast food anymore, so who knows.0

Anything eaten too much of probably makes a majority of people feel ill0 -
I get a ton of water retention with any meal that has even a little extra sodium. Too many simple carbs over an extended period of time make me lethargic. Otherwise, no, junk food isn't particularly detrimental to me.0

No. 'Junk food' meals are part of my healthy, balanced diet.0

Anyone want a Kahlua cupcake with Bailey's frosting made them yesterday YUM

I feel a little sluggish....after copious amounts of beer.0

Nope, no way, no how. A meal from McDonald's or anywhere else you and others would deem a junk food place, has no ill affect on me.0

Too much sugar, too much salt or too much beer makes me bloat like crazy.0
-
Yup. I feel like rubbish the next day after I eat junk food.0

I weigh almost all of my food. I would consider it all well balanced then. About the only thing not weighed is a rouge banana or apple. I would consider these sugary treats as Junk food by your standards and yes, they negatively impact my bowl movements at times.0

How can we leave out a debate on what your undefined version of "junk food" is and still be expected to answer a yes/no question about it?
Or is it a trick question? I got it .. The question can't be answered because there is no such thing as junk food.0 -
Thinking more along the lines of fast food, McD's, Taco Bell, etc-1

Add me to this camp. I did make the mistake of ordering tacos from Jack in the Box while drunk, and that led to severe depression...0 -
If I eat too much fat too often, I'll get sick. But that's because I don't have a gallbladder anymore.
I've not had a bile attack (that's what I call it) since I started tracking my calories on here, and I exceed my fat goal by 10 grams or so pretty often. So before I must have been way over my fat goals all the time.0 -
Ok, real answer.
For me, it's all about the sodium. This weekend I had a bagel, lox, smoke whitefish and cream cheese from an awesome Jewish deli in NYC. I would not consider this junk food by any stretch of the imagination BUT it will take me until tomorrow to shake it off and I will have to drink a ton of water to flush out the sodium.
No regrets. It was f&cking delicious.0 -
I felt awesome after my Big Mac this past Saturday and then I had Red Lobster!!0

But why is that junk food?0 -
guys, this post was not started with an ulterior motive, really. Nothing sinister about this. If you don't refer to Mcd's and other fast food as junk, then I assume you answer is no. My favorite food in the world is Filet-o-fish. Wish i could have one even once a month. I eat it and feel like crap every time. For those of you who can eat it whenever you want I will live vicariously through you.0

If I eat too large of portions (especially of food that is oily) I get acid reflux. but a portion controlled amount I am okay. However, if I eat too large of a portion of non-junk food I get reflux, so that probably invalidates my earlier comment.0
