Right? My dad sees the amount of effort I put into making vegetarian stuff and feels bad that he doesn't want to try it, but I'd much rather that he leave them to me instead of eating food he doesn't appreciate.
I don't like artificial sweeteners either and I know that my dad can't stand even a hint of the aftertaste (that's one of the main things he's upset about with the idea of being diabetic). I'm hoping to find something to replace sugar in sweets like that, such as honey or fruit juice/sauce. It'll just take some experimenting, I think.
I think you nailed that fancy cheesecake! It looks so amazing, I'd never have guessed it was your first attempt!
I hope you can find something that will still taste great! Fruit cheesecake is pretty popular, although usually the fruits are ALSO loaded with sugar.
And thank you!! I did PILES of "recipe research" trying to find exactly the right combination of ingredients for the texture I was aiming for. Hint: If you don't like REALLY dense Cheesecake Factory-like cheesecake and prefer a fluffier one that melts like ice cream in your mouth, whip the egg whites separately and fold them into the mix right before you put it in the crust! That's how I got the texture in the picture, and it was to die for!0 -

Haha, sorry! Hmmm, aside from foodie news, I think the only other new thing going on with me is that I'm thinking about starting C25k. Well, a pre-C25k program anyway.
I'm a bit nervous because it'll mean that I'm lifting weights 3x/week and jogging 3x/week, but I really want to run again and feel as though my fitness level is up for it. That, and I think it would be great to see my dad waiting for me at the finish line of my first 5k3 -

Thanks for the tip! I don't like the dense ones, so I'll definitely give it a try!

It's pre-logged, thankfully. I have to do that any time I come on the forums because I almost always end up in a foodie thread. I can't speak for @quiksylver296, though.3 -

Oh dear. EVERYONE VISUALIZE SOGGY VEGETABLES.
But seriously. Last time I tried to make a sauteed veggie side, I overcooked AND oversalted it and I got this horrible salty soggy pile of mushy stuff. Does everyone still feel hungry?!4 -

Awesomeness! Let me know how it turns out whenever you might try it. Even if it's like... Six months from now. I'll still be in here. I mean, I've been here for like two years now, after all.3 -

Like every week I say I'm going to start C25K. Downloaded the app and everything. My treadmill probably cries itself to sleep at night due to loneliness and neglect.2 -

Right?!? I'm eyeballing my protein bar, but that's supposed to be my afternoon snack.1 -
lol Anytime I want to not feel hungry, I imagine the day I tried to make tuna mac with brine-pickled asparagus...0

I totally think you could do this, provided you have the time to do workouts 6 days per week. C25K is supposed to start you off really slow.2 -

Haha, it definitely won't be that long! Judging by how quickly the applesauce cake is going (there's only three slices left) I'm thinking a new dessert will be needed by this weekend

I'm not sure if I should encourage you or not...visualizing @Susieq_1994's mushy vegetables helped a little.
Doesn't help that it actually is lunchtime here and people are microwaving their lunches. I eat later in the afternoon but definitely thinking it's snack time.

I always end up there. It's so bad. Then I'm like "Hmm...what [whoever] had for lunch looks delicious, I'm going to have that tonight!" and I rarely have the calories left for it.0 -

I tried it last spring and got shin splints so badly that I cried for about a week. ^_^; Then, I had a neighbor of mine tell me that I looked hilarious trying to run and I abandoned the proverbial ship.
I probably wouldn't bother except that I know that I love to run when I'm in shape Hopefully I'll be able to stick to it this time!0 -

Sounds interesting, what's it about? Even without C25K I get around 18,000 steps a day on average, so I think I rack up a good bit of mileage!0 -

I should. I wake up pretty early each day and could just siphon time spent playing on Twitter to going for a run As long as I work up to it, it should work. I hope lol

I hear ya. I usually eat lunch at 1:00, and it's only 11:00 here. I could eat lunch now, but I'll probably regret it later. But, leftover spaghetti is calling me!0 -

I look at them and think they look delicious, but then I'm too lazy for that kind of effort and I make a sandwich.2 -

I am not hungry but I do want to eat something besides the soup I had for lunch. I may need to go get something like wasabi peas. Just for some texture. I am working from home and just pawed through my cabinets looking for something. Needless to say there was nothing. I thought about cooking wild rice but a quarter cup is 110 calories, I'd be better off getting running out and getting wasabi peas. Or nuts. Or trail mix.0 -

Ooh, bummer. I've never had shin splints, but I've heard they are killer. As for the neighbor...I have some words I won't post.1 -

Well, next time they say anything mean like that, just yell "GAH!" at them and go on being your awesome self!
^ Yelling "GAH!" at people is my new favorite pastime. It comes from a silly kids' series where this policeman with an anger management problem is always turning purple and yelling it.
I love to run when I'm lighter, myself. But I'm talking a dead sprint, it makes me feel like I'm flying! I don't get to do that anymore, way too heavy for that sort of thing.2
