Hit the gym and the grocery store before #snowpocalyse2017 hit. Made banana bread and apple crisp to help entertain the housebound 12-year-old. Two big slices of banana bread later...

That is my issue. I would be the one eating it and not the one I made it "for". I would not be able to keep myself out of it.

When my two younger brothers were small I used to babysit them. We'd play the 'who can change into their PJs, brush their teeth and get to bed fastest' game. Brushing too quickly led to disqualification. I don't think there was a prize other than beating your brother.

I plan on using that gem on Andrew when he's older. I'll race him myself if I have to.

That's awesome! Nothing like a little competition to get things moving.

I think you get to tell it to turn your electronics on and off. I think. Don't quite remember.

New year's resolutions: Has anyone noticed how the carparks are all empty at the front and full at the back. The Healthy Options part of the freezer is inaccessible for queues of people.

I give it until the end of the month!

Welcome back! And also LOL! There's nothing like that going on in this part of the world. I guess New Year's resolutions aren't popular here! :D

I have to confess that I logged just under 50km for my mileage this week (I usually clock 60-80 a week but 3 weeks post-op so TRYING to scale back...lol) and my eating reflects that a little too much :/ . Hoping running a neat little 10 in the morning as opposed to at night might help tomorrow? Uhhhh say a little prayer for me or something ;) haha

You just turn it on and thru the app you sync it to stuff you are connected to. Pandora, WSJ, Huffington Post. You say Alexa tell me the news and she briefs you on the news. Alexa tell me the weather and she gives you weather. You can order off Amazon with it (haven't tried that) and it plays Amazon music too.

All: I sued the challenge again for fitbit.

High Steppers: Tobi won with 71,870
Low Steppers: Melissa won with 70, 642

    Yay to both!

There is room in the high steppers so let me know if anyone wants to do both! I like seeing both teams so others might too.

This week's challenge let's all try and get 100% of our own personal goals!

    Update on Run the Year:
Super Slowpokes (Susie gets all the credit for that name): 73.4 miles to date

Nicci/Team need update on your miles! A little healthy competition goes a long way!

I do a lot of stuff on Amazon and some of the apps too. Might have to take a look at that.

This week was soo slow for me. I think I am still getting my mind wrapped around what I have to do. It's strange, but I know what I need to do.

I know that feeling! All of my goals are moving really slowly because even though I know what I'm doing, it feels strange to actually work toward doing them lol

I'll probably stay out of the challenge this week as well, since seeing everyone stepping might make me want to get moving instead of recovering! Thanks for the invite though. :) Back next week, I hope!

No problem. Just remind me if I forget you next week and just do a 'rematch'

Me too. As soon as I went back to work running went in the toilet. I will get it done this week!

This week was the poorest milage in a while. My family seems to be taking turns with the creepy cruds.

Sorry to hear about the creepy cruds! (Does that mean getting sick? Because I *think* that's what it means). If sickness is the case I hope everyone feels better soon!

Will do. I ran two days last week because I am a wimp about running in the snow. I hate having cold wet feet.

I race Charlie on stuff all the time, particularly on stuff he doesn't want to do, like getting dressed to go out, or pajamas and bed. He likes being the champion. "but we never race food auntie".

As a wise woman once said: in everything that must be done, there is an element of fun. Find that fun and snap! The job's a game.

Thank you, POF. I joined low steppers again. Since Denni fixed my truck, I have no plans for any more 4 mile walks home so I think I will stay there. :)

Yes, Susie. In my neck of the woods it is a bad respiratory virus. Flu-like, but not actually the flu. Even our doctors are calling it the crud, because "viral upper respiratory infection, with cough, unspecified" is too long.

Yuck! That sounds absolutely awful. Glad you're feeling better.

The child must have had a bad dream last night as he woke up suddenly and wouldn't be settled and ended spending all night in our bed. I'm not knocking co-sleeping if that's your parenting bag, but I HATE doing it. I yet all paranoid about squashing him and we got very little sleep.

Hoping it goes better tonight as I'm shattered. Currently sat in a dark room, willing the child to sleep. He's having none of it. How can he be so awake!?

Confession: I started making pinwheels for the child since they're easy for him to self feed, but I probably eat more than half of each batch myself. They're delicious. If I do buy baby food, I buy it in flavours I don't like to stop myself eating it!
