Last time I had blood taken (wasn't even a donation, just a blood test!) I fainted right there in the chair 30 seconds later.1 -
Way to go, Vix! But, you're wrong, OHP is the devil. Bench is only an evil witch.3

Yay for you! I am due to give again soon. They keep advertising a blood shortage so I'm anxious to be eligible again. Good luck today!0 -

So I will do a meet breakdown for yall since I haven't done one at all yet so lucky you guys! We left to go to the venue at 6am, weigh ins were at 8am and start time was 10am. Squats: First was at 85kg (187lbs), Austyn is a firm believer of your first should be considered your last warm up so you will for sure be on the board. Second 90kg (198lbs) which moved sooo quick and third attempt was at 97.5kgs (215lbs) which is a new PR and went smooooth.
Bench: Bench is the DEVIL. First attempt was 40kg (88lbs) which flew off the chest, second attempted was 45kg (99lbs) which I failed for both times. I am ticked off over that one, not sure what happened there but I am determined to hit 115+ for my comp in November with bench.
Deadlifts: First was 105kgs (231lbs), second was 110kgs (242lbs) and third attempt was 122.5kgs (270lbs) which I failed. Now time for the story about the third attempt, my previous PR was 245lbs which is 25lbs lower than my last attempt. That attempt was selected on a range from Austyn by Martin, but Austyn diverted from the original game plan because well I was sick and not pulling as much as expected (not an excuse I swear!). Needless to say Martin felt horrible for stealing a PR from me haha.
Austyn is now leaving us to move back to Ontario, we will still be coaching with him but I'm sad about it. Him and his girlfriend are wonderful people, we will hopefully be seeing them in February when we go to Calgary to see him compete in Nationals. Below is a photo of Team Apex (all of Austyn's clients) and his GF, there was a tonne of us at this competition. As well as the three of us, we went to dinner as a team afterwards and then they hit the road to head back home.
You look great and congratulations! I still can't imagine lifting that much weight.1 -

You'll PR that dead next time!
I'm four weeks out from Regionals, thinking about my numbers. Here's what I'm hoping for, at this point:
Squat: 225 lbs (would be a PR by 20 lbs)
Bench: 170 lbs (would be a PR by 9 lbs)
Deads: 375 lbs (super-lofty, and would be a PR by 19 lbs).
Too lazy to convert all those to kgs.
November is our next one so I am determined! I haven't decided on numbers aside from bench, I thinks squats I would love to hit 250lbs.
You'll do it!0 -

Good luck! Despite all the needles people keep inflicting on me at the moment, I oddly miss giving blood. Something to aim for in 2019 once I'm all done with this baby making phase.4 -

Gonna pass. Maybe 2018. I'd rather scuba dive in Belize.2 -

No. He was single. His poor little mama found him. He didn't call her that morning answer the phone when she called him so she went to his place. (That would be my worst nightmare.)
ETA: they think it was undiagnosed sleep apnea.0 -
How sad Mel. I guess if he died in his sleep he probably didn't suffer, but still, it's no age at all.
Sudden deaths are always so shocking. One of my uncles passed unexpectedly in his mid fifties. I think he had a heart condition that runs in our family, but hadn't had it checked out. It's a crying shame - the aunts who have had it looked at have all made it into their 70s. There's a lesson to be learned.0 -
We signed on our property yesterday. We purchased the house plan and now need to find a builder and get started. It is getting real here!! I will be in a new house by next year!!! I won't lie, I am excited. I have one room set aside for my stuff.(aka PRx rack and weights and all the other stuff I have.)
I also have to confess, I haven't worried any about what I have been eating and it shows. Stuck scale and all that.7 -

BC is being ravaged by forest fires lately, our cit is under a air condition advisory. Typically you can see mountains here, also it is sunny and 30. Welcome to the Wild West!

I'm debating if I want to stay here or gun for 63kg. Not sure yet1 -
I suck. Ugh.
CONFESSION:
I failed deadlifts at 335 lbs Friday night when training with my trainer (20 lbs under my 1RM). I also tweaked my back pretty good (was told not to work out at all, all weekend). I woke at 1 a.m. Sunday morning and couldn't go back to sleep (I always want to eat when this happens). On top of reaching an all-time low body weight during the week (I habitually sabotage myself when I reach a new low). Each of these things individually cause me to want to eat. It was a perfect storm.
I ate ALL THE THINGZ. I watched myself put food into my mouth I didn't even really want, saying "don't eat that" to myself, and I still ate it. Things I don't even like, like movie popcorn. My stomach hurt from eating, and I still ate more.
I am up over 6 pounds this morning. I know it's not all real weight. But I am really upset that I did this to myself.
I am officially forgiving myself right now and hitting the reset button. I have logged my entire food day. I am going to stick to it. I am not going to eat things and not log them. I am going to go to the gym. I am going to do my cardio.
ETA: My back is better, at least.1 -
Good for you Quik! Everyone has this happen to them. We all seem to self-sabotage for some reason or another. Just move forward, you will probably be back down by the end of the week!2

Yay your back is better! I get frustrated then stuff my face as well, I totally get that one. It'll go down within the week i'm sure.
This weekend was busy but wonderful! Saturday we hit the gym (deload still) and then went to a therapeutic farm for a vegan potluck. There was a fire that started Saturday about 20 minutes from us (it's out now) that burnt through 55 hectares of land, as well as the stuff still burning in Northern BC. Sunday we hit a beach and met a bunch of hippies, spent the day out in the sun.
Today we actually were able to lift again, currently doing some hypertrophy work and my goodness did it ever kick my butt!
Banded squats were the new add in, Austyn also has me doing some accessories that are used in Olympic lifting so that was interesting to try for the first time. I also hit a volume PR with bench, slowly seeing things work in that area finally lol4
