After getting knocked out with that cold, I've been having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. I have set my alarm to get up early and work out, and just cant bring myself to do it. Too sleepy. I'm not sure if it's because I got out of the habit for a week, or if (even though I feel fine) my body is still recovering a bit. I'm contemplating going back to evening workouts.. But the mornings are just so much more convenient to my schedule. (Provided I can drag my kitten out of bed). I guess I'll have to drag myself out by my hair, and stumble into the gym to get it done, lol.

Edit: I even set one of those alarms that makes you solve puzzles to shut it off... I figured out a loophole to get more snoozes... I gotta get this under control before I get way out of habit. :#

I would do the less convenient evening workouts for a few days, then swap back into mornings. I have trouble with getting up early when I have been sick, it is the last sign of recovery that I stop hitting snooze.

Thanks. That will probably be what I'll do. Just doing something is probably better then the nothing I'm doing now! Maybe I'll get some Yoga in tonight. Before I got that cold, I was waking automatically at like 5:30. So I wasn't snoozing my alarm so bad. But lately.... Man! I feel like I just fell asleep or something. I need that extra hour or I don't feel rested. According to my fitbit, I am in deep sleep at around 4am... I wonder if that has something to do with it??

Speaking of sick, holy cannoli I am in pain. My gallstone is trying to move. It's awful. 6/10 pain right now and worse when I move. I had to do a fast stop because someone pulled out in front of me driving today and I cried real tears. I am going to bed, but if I disappear this is why.

(if you noticed me missing from this week's fitbit hustle, it's because I can't imagine stepping much... Or caring.)

OWWIE!! That's no fun, I'm sorry you're in so much pain! :( Will you be getting your gallbladder out, I hope? Either way, I hope it gets better for you soon!

I have an appointment with my PCP on March 7. I hope she will just refer me for surgery. If it becomes consistently unbearable before then, I will go to the emergency department.

Today's day 2 on my goal to shed 15 lbs and become much more stronger than I already am. I'm amped up and keeping it going strong, but I feel real chill at the same time with the change of course in the amount of calories I consume during the day.

I'm up six pounds since Saturday. I know it's mostly excess carbs and sodium, with some alcohol thrown in. Those all cause water weight. But I really need to rein it in! A migraine yesterday didn't help. I had grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch, and quesadillas for dinner. :o

ETA: Oh, yeah. And I haven't been to the gym all week. I was supposed to train with my coach yesterday, but he had to cancel since his wife was giving birth. :p

Still noped the gym this morning... It was -1(F), and I didn't want to take the time to allow my car to warm up, and then go. BUT I did do an at home workout instead... Totally kicked my butt!! It was like, nothing but burpees, and cousins of burpees, lol.

She says to the girl who works and goes home to bed in agony. I hit 10k on Tuesday because it was an indigent clinic day and I am covering there again tonight, so I might make it, but I am a slug when I feel bad.

Way to still kick butt & I definitely don't blame you one bit on not going out in minus degree weather.

I still can't imagine how people in the upper midwest & Canadians deal with the extremely cold weather.

It was a woman with a kid in the car and I hope she steps on a Lego barefoot.

@beka3695 terrible. I am drinking Boost rather than eating anything, but I saw my PCP while we were both at free clinic last night and she emailed her office manager to work me in on Monday. She's seeing me to refer for surgery.

It's just a way of life, I suppose. Your body gets used to all that cold weather. (Well maybe not subzero).

On the flip side, I couldn't imagine trying to live where it's hot all the time. I could snowbird though. Florida in the winter is fantastic. ... Florida in the summer? Sooooo hot!

No, it's not. A mudslide killed a local man yesterday. Some schools were closed today. It's getting messy and may get worse next week.

I am bothered by the death and long term damage from the mud slide. The flooding happens in these mountains often enough that I am only surprised it's happening in February instead of March. It has been covering the road to the parking garage at work.
Edit to clarify: you can get to the entrance from one end of the road and go out the exit on the other end of this, but it floods in the middle. You have to drive through the garage instead of down the street.

I definitely don't need a gun to feel safe. I feel safe almost 100% of the time. The fact I carry a gun does not change that one way or the other.

This. I live in a rural area and am out on my own a lot. When seconds count, the police are 15-20 minutes away. Plus, they're not going to come kill a coyote for me. My kids are big enough to defend themselves from a coyote now, but they weren't always.

    P. S. My brother shot a rabid raccoon not too long ago. Life in my rural mountains really is different.

I have a giant field beside me, like literally 20 feet from my patio with only a small fence separating. Lots of wild animals and coyotes live there, never once have I thought I need a gun because of that.

If you feel safe 100% of the time, why do you need a gun?
