Same here, plus I can't sleep on my stomach because the lack of a belly means no back support, and that means lower back pain in the middle of the night.8 -

This.
Because I have been large for so long, now I am losing I have heaps of expensive lovely clothes that now swim on me. The necklines all fall off my shoulder. I miss wearing them. I have lost just under half what I need to lose so can't buy any new clothes yet.
If they are really good quality it might be worth finding someone who can do alterations - there are some people around who can work minor miracles for reasonable costs.

That I would look forward to being active. And even on my "rest days" I end up taking at least a couple mile walk.19

And you'll feel amazing in clothes that fit9 -
dutchandkiwi wrote: »We all know abut the cold- You feel cold while loosing weight.
However lately I have been noticing that I don't feel cold all the time anymore - My internal heating system seems to have kicked in - I am very near my goal and within my optimum BMI and been doing weights training. It is as if my body/heart muscles all of a sudden are learning how the heating system should work vs counting on that fat to keep it warm.
I'd hoped this would happen, but I'd not seen anybody mention that it could.
As you mention it I have noticed I havent been so cold recently, a lot more like my old self in that respect.
Though strangely it doesnt extend to my hands/fingers which are still like ice much of the time!

that trousers that fit take forever to remove! so when the toilets nearest your office are broken, and you have to walk further, then remember there are buttons and zips all over the place.......feels very rushed shall we say!!
(have spent the past year or so being able to just pull trousers off and on - partly body shape and partly the fact that I hate tight clothing)9 -

I was thinking just the same thing today but my thoughts were more about dresses and panty-hoses...
It's taking me forever to get 'toilet-ready' and then the opposite again to get presentable again. Jeans and a shirt are much much much quicker where that's concerned. I used to wonder why my best friend needs so much time for restroom breaks when we go out together... good thing I never made comments or teased her since I'm finding myself in similar situations all too often now.7 -
That changes don't happen, and then suddenly do all at once. Almost a month in (this time) and the scale is moving slowly and I wasn't expecting to see much at all happening for another few weeks when BAM I have to change because the shirt I was planning to wear looks rediculously long now and suddenly I'm the last 2 days I have a waist.21

Thanks so much for posting, everyone! Four months in to my journey, I'm working on staying motivated, and this is really helpful.
My list so far:- After losing the first 19 pounds, I'm still in the same clothes size, but my SHOES and bras fit differently. (?!?!?!?!) Weird!
- Apparently I enjoy fresh fruits and veggies more than I think I will, and that I enjoy "junk" food less than I think I will
- I have to trust the process and know that If I keep making healthy choices, I WILL see progress eventually, no matter what the scale might say day to day. Fluctuations are frustrating, but they are temporary, if I just stay the course. (I'm still working on this one!)
you had fat FEET?! so funny. But yes you loose shoe sizes.1 -
That what I do to 'earn' a treat is now much different. Prior to MFP, if I had a bad day, quiet time without kids or just felt like food, I felt I 'earned' it in some way and deserved it.
Now, I have to add those calories back through exercise to 'earn' it - and I am a lot less likely to eat/drink them all in one swoop! I worked HARD for those extra 500 calories, I am NOT going to blow them on junk!14 -
I am coming up to halfway to my goal. I find I am walking much taller and faster. I no longer have trouble keeping up with others when walking in groups--no longer suffering the indignity of puffing and wheezing and falling behind. In fact I can now lead the pack. Aside from the exercise I am doing, I get real pleasure in simply walking.20

Yep, I realised this myself not long ago! And it's really hard to deal with belts, buttons and zips while you're doing the pipi dance!!8 -
I've been plugging away on MFP for five months now and I am amazed at the crazy way time seems to warp while on this process☺. It seems like each day and week passes slowly but the months have just flown by!
Must be because I need to be aware and thinking about each meal in the day and I wait for each Sunday to register my weight but it seems like just yesterday that I started this process (42 pounds ago). It keeps me motivated because I know that even if a day can be long and hard, as long as I stick with it, before I know it a few more months will go by and I will be at my goal. Very strange awareness of the passing of time.
It is a little like raising children - the days are long but the years are short.
Yes!! Raising kids is VERY much like this! The days are long...quite long. Ok let's be real. The morning through lunch up until GLORIOUS NAP TIME is long.11 -

It's because the baby moves your ab muscles and they don't go back to the same place when you lose the weight. It changes your shape. Straight shape is still very pleasing to the eye too.8 -
Some of these replies have really made me laugh and many I completely agree with
I still have four and a half stone to lose but have lost 14 stone over almost a year and my physical appearance has changed a lot as has the way I feel. Here are a few examples...
I can fit into clothes from normal shops and have gone from someone who hated clothes shopping to someone who can't go to the supermarket to buy food without an item of clothing ending up in trolley too!
Speaking of supermarkets, complete strangers seem to be monitoring my weight loss as one of the checkout operators in my local supermarket that I have never said anything other than please and thank you etc to before said to me about 3 weeks ago that I have lost loads of weight now and was looking so much better! Lovely compliment but if I fall off the diet wagon I feel like I can never buy chocolate in there again haha.
I have become somewhat unrecognisable even to people I know well. A woman who left my place of work about 15 months ago that I sat at the next desk to for about 6 years came for a visit last week and as she approached my desk with one of my colleagues she genuinely asked her if they had taken on new staff and was pointing in my direction. That was weird.
I have become more vain about my appearance in general, making more effort with my hair, make up etc than ever before
My large amounts of loose skin make a clapping noise when I am trying to be more active alerting everyone to my presence when I just want to be left alone to sweat profusely and turn puce in peace lol
I have more energy than I have had for years
Like many others have mentioned I am cold most of the time
I don't need to worry every time I get into someone else's car that I won't be able to get seatbelt done up!
Lastly for now...I am a whole lot happier right now

Has anyone else noticed that period pains are worse?!9

That I would get "approached" by random still-drunk men with far greater frequency in the morning. I thought I'd cultivated resting, er... cross kitten face with better success than that.12

Mine got worse to the point of being invalid 1 day each month and not good for much another 5-6 days, but that was only coincidence, as I developed a slight problem fully unrelated to weight-loss.
I suggest mentioning that the next time you have your regular yearly checkup at the gyn. It's always worth mentioning when something changes.5 -
I think it's weird that I can skip entire sizes.... I was a 14 for a really long period of time and through a lot of pounds lost.... and then all the sudden one day 12's were too big. And I wore them for like a week.....
It doesn't make sense to me20 -

Happened to me as well, I wore a particular size for just a week then had to get some smaller clothes as they were suddenly too big. 'Tis odd indeed.6 -

Hmmm - thanks ladyreva, I will. Just wondered if it was to be expected?!1 -
The band size is the actual measurement in inches, but the cup size is how many inches bigger your breasts are than your rib cage. So as you lose weight, the comparison between the two measurements may change, or it may not. Like, if your band size goes down a lot, but your boobs don't shrink much, your cup size will go up. If they shrink equally, your cup size could stay the same.
I was a 44G; am now a 36DD. So my boobs are shrinking faster than my rib cage.
I went from 40G/40H to 38DDD. I can almost actually buy bras at a real store and not in the big girl boobies seciton.10 -

Well, weight loss can change your period, that is a fact. For example, lose weight too extremely and you might lose it. It might become irregular or the intervals might change. How it would affect the pain surrounding the whole messy business, I'm not sure. Reason why it's always better to ask someone qualified when something changes in the body.
This thread http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10359984/women-menstrual-cycle-weight-and-fitness-matters/p1 has a wealth of information and pretty knowledgeable people keeping an eye on it. Might be worth posting your question there.3 -

So I'm guessing you have no personal experience with 'beer goggles'

wellnessresources.com/weight_tips/articles/detoxification_during_weight_loss/
We all can have some weird changes when fat cells are dumping their contents during major weight loss especially if it is fast weight loss. Most of the time they can be short term but not always plus a new health issue that is not even diet related may appear so we have to be mindful of that possibility.0 -

I was telling my husband that my goal is to have "sporty boobs". He laughed, and then looked sad.
