Just for today --- daily commitment thread

Today I turn 64. My goal was to be at my goal weight for my 64th birthday, but I am still 22 lbs from that.
But -- I am still here! I can walk 5 miles easily without having to stop. I have outlived 4 of my siblings. So I am very grateful. But God gave me this body to take care of, and I have not. So today is a good day to start getting serious again!
just for today
1. enjoy eating out, but in moderation.
2. think positive. I am still alive. I have so much to be thankful for. Count my blessings, not my troubles.
EAT TO LIVE. DO NOT LIVE TO EAT!
Happy belated birthday Joan! Thank you for reminding me to be thankful. Birthdays are a great time to reflect on the good (& the bad). You're an inspiration & I hope you find many positives in your life today. I wish you health & joy.

Our vacation was cancelled due to a miscommunication at DH's work. I needed a few days to process this and come up with a plan. Sometimes I just have to trust the process & give myself time to work something out instead of reacting in a negative way (stress eating, sadness , etc). I've decided to take our kids myself on a very long drive to visit my family. We'll do some activities there too. I feel guilty leaving DH behind but we were really hoping to see my family.
JFT
focus on positives & look for inspiration.
Track meals
Drink more water (feeling crampy in legs)
Pilates today
Take kids on bike ride before it rains
Journal
Finish laundry & clean
Plan dinners for week
Call doctor to confirm surgery date for knee (torn meniscus)
Have a great Monday!

I made the commitment to my weight loss consultant to maintain for four weeks. If I lose well that's great, but I need to reduce the pressure on myself at the moment whilst still halting the gaining weight trend.
I spent time out with my husband, in my favourite place at the coast. I stuck with an ice cream that I enjoyed a lot rather than fish and chips, an ice cream, and hot donuts (which is what I would usually have)
I walked 1.71 miles with the hounds in 30 minutes. I started out wanting to walk a mile but my planned route wasn't quite long enough, so I ended up going a lot further. This is great as to my shame, my hounds don't get out as often as they should and it's important to keep their fitness up as they get older.
So, my just for tomorrow goals...
I want to walk another mile. Anything more is a bonus, but the mile that will count must include the dogs.
I will pre plan my meals and snacks, which I will not scarf all of by ten am.
I will spend some quality time with my husband (we work opposite shifts most of the week)
I will not weigh myself. Being obsessively on and off the scales is detrimental.
I hope you don't mind me joining in, I felt so inspired reading your posts!
Hi ColleenPamela,
Welcome! This is a great group. Lot's of support & inspiration. I think you'll enjoy it. Best wishes on your journey.

I am really not doing great--very stuck. I start fine and by late afternoon I find some excuse to give in/give up. I know if I just had a "successful" day or two, the motivation and stick-with-it would come back.
JFT:
1. Stay under cal limit
2. Exercise 30+ min
3. Drink 3+ pints water/tea0 -
I've been sort of Awol - reading not posting, part of this is the diet portion is doing well right now.
So JFT
1. NF Beginner body weight workout - one circuit plus extras
2. brush and floss before bed
3. put away laundry
4. starting cleaning house (first floor at a minimum) for Saturday crab boil0 -

I, like so many of you, do great all day long, only to eat everything in site in the evenings! So frustrating. But, today is a new day, and I'll just keep trying!
1. write everything I eat
2. Tonite -- when I want to eat, drink a large glass of water, and a large glass of milk, and wait 30 minutes!!
I discovered last nite that the glass of milk stopped my eating! So I am going to try this again tonite!
hope you all have a great day!0 -
