Had a difficult day today, too busy to focus on my plan.
1. Protein Smoothie for breakfast - ran out of ingredients
2. Finish laundry - folded but not put away. Close, very close!
3. Assorted Christmas business and chaos! this I did!
4. Stick to plan for eating lunch and dinner out - plan got wonky, couldn't eat when I needed to, ended up hungry and tired, ate too many cookies!
Didn't do any exercising!
J4T Tuesday
1. Jog 5k Done before anything else!
2. Plan dinner
3. Stick to calorie goals one meal at a time

I hope everyone is trying to relax and enjoy the pre-holiday activities. Today I am going to try to not let me healthy goals stress me out. I'll just do what I can do and let the rest go!0

3. Eat real meals to stop snacking throughout the day0 -
JFT...I'm going to the gym to workout...even though I'd rather go home and veg on the couch after work...0

Have been staying within my calorie and nutrient goals and have been getting about 9000 steps per day, if not more. My husband has been away helping a sick friend and my Aunt and cousins were here for the weekend. It was my aunt's 98th bday last week(1 of the days) cousins here ( the other day) My husband got back yesterday ( our 30th anniversary) he got back too late to do anything- good for my food intake. He is having surgery tomorrow (angioplasty) hopefully that will work and he won't need the bypass, oh it is his birthday. We are staying home for Christmas(going to miss my daughter and grandkids) so I am going off my goals just for that day! I think I will need a break by then! Bad excuse? But JFT I will track everything, stay within goals and get my walking in, even though it's raining, will do that tomorrow and the day after Christmas and so on and so on! And I will be grateful! Happy Holidays!
My theory on excuses...the only one that's not acceptable is one that makes you quit, because life happens and sometimes you have to change your plans but you only fail when you quit.
I'm praying your hubby recovers quickly and his procedure is extremly successful.0 -
Thanks for all of the encouragement! I don't plan on quitting! I plan on continuing this journey one day at a time!0

Happy Wednesday!
So, I think I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot. Have an appointment for Monday with the doctor. This worries me because I love my high-impact, high-intensity cardio because it burns lots of calories and keeps me off medication for depression. I'm worried about how this will affect my weight loss and my emotional state (which are tied closely together as with most people). Even walking is becoming painful so I will have to see if the elliptical is better or the stationary bike, which I hate. Hopefully I hate being depressed more than the bike.
Anyway, back to the actual thread topic.
JFT, 12/24
1. Stay within calorie limits
2. Walk the dogs (wearing my good shoes with orthotics)
3. No walking around the house barefoot
4. Today is cardio day so go to the gym and test out if the elliptical bothers my foot
5. Try not to panic and think this is the end of the world0 -

Oh my goodness, Jacqueline, that sounds painful (and frustrating). Wishing you a speedy recovery!0 -
JFT -
1. Plantar fasciitis stretches three times today
2. Abstain from processed sugar. I'm finding I do better when I completely abstain rather than moderate the sugar. Gretchen Rubin's book Better Than Before is helping me recognize weaknesses and strengths with my goal setting
3. Spend time reflecting on good things/blessings in my life.
4. Stationery bike and walking around mountain while family is skiing.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all. I'm thankful for the support and encouragement from this positive group of people!0 -

So sorry to hear about your plantar fasciitis. There are some great resources and stretching excersies online to help you heal. I've dealt with it on and off for the last 6 years. When I recognize early signs of recurrence and start stretching right away, it can usually be kept at bay. I'm not a fan of stationary bikes, but the pain, especially in the morning, will force you to make some changes until you can heal the area. I'm back to stretching again right now after trying to kick up my cardio with high impact too quickly. Good luck!!0 -
