What traits would those be exactly?
Dishonesty ... control issues ... a little paranoia ...
If you say so. Not even gonna argue with you on that. It looks like you had no facts to debate me with on this topic so you went for my personality. Fact of the matter is I have seen perfectly honest people lie about these things before so I was wondering if it was okay. And if we are going by your standard for what constitutes a liar then you better hope you are perfect because if you have ever told a lie or considered it then clearly you have dishonesty issues too.

And what's even worse is she is passing of things she claims are facts as far as diabetes goes when she's the only person in the thread that believes her "facts". Apparently none of us knew nothing about diabetes before she came along saying DKA will make you lose weight because it eats your muscle and organs along with promoting 24 hour fasts daily while barely eating a proper caloric intake.
I honestly don't care if she goes away from scientifically based treatment for her disease. The generic I do X and it works for me becomes a form of advocating that behavior which is dangerous.0 -

Please tell me where exactly I promoted DKA? I can show you where exactly I said don't do DKA. Now I know you don't know what you are talking about. You probably didn't even read the whole thread. Thanks for confirming my suspicions that you were a quack trolling me.0 -
This thread is like a bad car accident on the side of the road, the one where you can't help but look...I just can't help but read this!!!0

Back in 2005 I lost 67 pounds and I too worried about going out to eat & being invited to someone else's house for dinner. What worked for me was to be a little OCD about calories. I had to control my food because food used to control me. So I get it, I really do! I'm not as controlling about my food now but a little bit I still am. I have brought my own dressing to many restaurants!!!!!! As well as other condiments and other small things. I had lost all my weight by the time I started dating my now husband but I was still extremely particular about my food because I wanted to maintain my weight. On our 1st date I did what others have suggested: ate very light all day before the date, extra workout then I just specified (very politely) how I wanted my food prepared. My husband actually respected my desire to be healthy. I understand your anxiety surrounding this issue. I hope the date goes well!0

You didn't even read my post properly I see.
She was too busy with her addiction thread.0 -
OP I do not care what you do about your dates or how you manage your disease.
I do care about lying in these situations because it has repercussions for people with genuine allergies.
And I do care that other type 1 diabetics do not attempt to eat nothing until dinner time, especially with exercising, because most of them will go into hypos doing so.0 -

I think your understanding of "perfectly honest" may need to be recalibrated.

To make it simple, maybe eat a salad or just eat half of whatever you get. You can do whatever you'd like but you might come off as high maintenance0 -

Sorry to dredge up this post again, although i have been reading every word as it's unfolded
Just had agree with soccerkon. High maintenance usually means i run in the opposite direction, this goes for female friends and boyfriends too!

I think the ship has sailed on the whole high maintenance issue, frankly.
As for date guy cottoning to the whole thing, that's another matter.0
