Just for Today: I will concentrate on getting all my water in.0

Its amazing how much control and power food has over us. We eat to be social, we eat to not be lonely, we eat as a family, we eat. Realizing that food was no longer going to have control over me was a difficult journey. I slip some days as we all do. One day at a time dear Lord, one day at a time.0

Just for today, I will not freak out about finances and sit back with a cup of coffee in order to realize how truly blessed I am
Is it ok for me to hijack your post? :flowerforyou:0 -

My Dear Friends, I want you to know how much it means to me to have all of you posting here.
I know that my posts have been few and far between. I have been playing hard and trying to squeeze as much life as I can into this summer. My children are getting older and I am loathe to miss this precious "little kid" time. I will be gone all next week, as we are going to be in the mountains. I will be thinking of you and wishing you all the best.
Just for Today: I will express gratitude for all of the people who help me along!
See you next weekend!:happy:0 -

Kate,
I've always enjoyed this thread... love the cookie analogy because it's SO TRUE! When I post on this thread I scan what others have shared and I get SO much from those postings. I makes me really realize how we truly are in this togehter... and that feels good! Appreciate you continuing this thread along with us as you can.:flowerforyou:

Just For Today: I am proud of today.0

Just for today I will remember I am not perfect and don't need to strive for perfection in my eating and exercising routine. Just for today I will be proud of what I accomplished.
I really love the "Just for today" mantra. I am going to try and stick with this for a while and see if I can get through my weekends without losing motivation.0 -
Just for Today: I will try for MY best. I will not strive for someone else's best.
I say this after feeling very discouraged on my bike ride this morning. I was huffing and puffing like a dying rhino when a young man rode past me. He looked like he was out for a stroll (what is a stroll called when it is on a bicycle?), hardly working at all. I wanted to speed up and try to catch him, but I was already giving my all. I decided then and there to be proud of the fact that I was huffing and puffing and giving my all. Huffing and puffing is a sign of working hard right? Anyway, after he rode past I noticed that his khaki shorts still had a big cardboard Wrangler tag stuck on the back pocket. So I had my revenge with a little chuckle at his expense. I bet you didn't know that I was so mean spirited.0 -
Just For Today: JUST DO IT!:drinker:0

An oldie but goodie: Just for Today: I will remember the difference between can't and won't.
Can't implies that I have no choice or control. I have no dietary needs forcing me to eat unhealthy. I have no physical ailments to keep me from exercise.Everytime I say, "I just can't do this!" I'm lying to myself and others. Maybe I WON"T do this, but I certainly can. And just for today, I WILL.0 -
Just for today I will not step on a scale ...0

Just For Today: Get out of the house and enjoy the day!0

The addicts on here will get this:
JUST FOR TODAY my thoughts will be on my weight loss, living and enjoying life without the use of excessive calories.
JUST FOR TODAY I will have faith in someone on MFP who believes in me and wants to help me in my weight loss.
JUST FOR TODAY I will have a weight loss program. I will try to follow it to the best of my ability.
JUST FOR TODAY through MFP I will try to get a better perspective on my weight.
JUST FOR TODAY I will be unafraid, my thoughts will be on my new menus, people who are not over eating and who have found a new way of life. So long as I follow that way, I have nothing to fear.0 -

Oh so very true in my case... that's why each time Kate begins a new threads when this ones gets a bit long.. I read through the entire first post she pastes... it reminds me of how very true it is and how WE are the ones that determine how close to that "cookie" we get.

You're very sweet! I do have a blog, but it is not about weight loss; it is about the ups and downs of life with my zany children.0 -
Another recycled post, but if I just say "Just for Today: I will rember my rear view mirror.", no one would know what I was talking about.
"During the day a lot of thoughts and ideas come to me: "I want to have a fuzzy sock day. I want to lay in bed all day and read a book. I want to eat junk food. I want to watch movies that I haven't watched in a while. Exercise is too hard. Eating right sucks. A nap would be more fun than a stroll on the dreadmill." Last night, post workout, I read someone's status that they were trying to get up the enthusiam for a workout, but a nap sounded better. It struck me how often (Most minutes of every day) I have the same thoughts. But having already completed my workout for the day, I was able to honestly say, that although the idea of the nap is better going forward, the reality of the workout is way better in the rear view mirror. What do you want to see in your rear view mirror at the end of the day? "0 -
