After a series of life set-backs, weight gain & INJURIES....! This triathlon I have this month may be my only one of the year!
Then I'll be focusing on sport-specific training.... getting ready for a 3.8k open water swim in August and my 1st 100mile cycling event in Sept.
(aiming to get back in shape and then refocus on half ironman training in 2016!)

AIMING for 2016 to be the year of the PB!

Aha, I was wondering if there'd be a June edition. Goal for the month is to complete 90% of workouts as prescribed by my training plan, plus at least 5-6 hours hiking and kayaking and yoga 1x week minimum.

6/1-2500 meters- long intervals in the pool and 13.5 miles- an (awful) spin on the trainer.

    Swim: 2500 m
    Bike: 13.5 mi
    Run: 0
    X-train: 0

@SBRRepeat it seemed to go ok, didn't it? So yup, definitely a June edition! Especially as its now 'in season'. Some really useful tips to be picked up in these threads too :)

@csman49 it definitely did! I did the cycling thread in April but it didn't have quite as much personality as this one did last month. I approve!

6/1-2500 meter swim and 13.5 miles on bike
6/2- easy 3 mile run with strides before work this morning. Bike on deck for tonight.

    Swim: 2500 m
    Bike: 13.5 mi
    Run: 3 mi

    2/6 - Swim, 0.96km

    Run - 0/50km

Realising that I may not get to grips with freestyle at all, decided i'd just chug out the lengths in breast stroke today. 960m overall. 750m in 25mins, so around 3 mins per 100m. Other folks from my company are doing around 2m20. Whilst i do seem to be the only person that trains for duration, i don't think the run is long enough (5km) for my endurance to pay off. (i've made it a bit of a personal mission to crush my colleagues, is that wrong of me? ).

    here's my estimated timings:
750m OWS, 25 mins. I'll be losing 5+ minutes to colleagues.
T1 - 5:20 mins (average from mid-placed results last year)
20km cycle, 40 mins. Should be fairly even here. Flat course.
    T2 - 3:20 (average from mid-placed results last year)
5km run, 27 mins. Just a guess. Half marathon saw me doing 27min 5km splits throughout.

June Goals - S/B/R per what my coach tells me to do, yoga once a week. :)

    June Races:
6/9 Corporate Challenge - 3.5 mile run race (goal sub 32 min)
6/21 Ironman 70.3 - 1.2M swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run (goal: NOT DIE. LOL actually sub 7 hours)
6/28 Patriot Run 5k - I'm not actually signed up for this yet, and may not - it will depend on how I feel after the 70.3.

6/1 - Cold and Soggy Lofty Ladies Ride - 18.69 miles in 1:08:44, avg 16.3mph (was supposed to do 20-30 minutes "push the pace" after LL, but since we were all experienced riders and it was cold and rainy, I did 75% of LL as "push the pace" instead - if I factor out the couple of stops/slowdowns for the group to re-gather, I probably would have averaged 19-20mph).

    Totals through 6/1:
Swim: 0 miles in 0 hours (0 swims)
Bike: 18.69 miles in 1.15 hours (1 ride)
Run: 0 miles in 0 hours (0 runs)
    Yoga: 0 classes

The knee was a bit uncomfortable after 5 minutes, but i tried a slightly higher cadence as previously advised, and the knee didn't particularly worsen, and i put in a slightly faster time than expected (5:19/km avg)

For once we have nice weather here in blighty, seemed a shame to miss out on a cycling opportunity. Its 40km each way, but I decided to avoid the fast narrow country roads where cars pass too close and too fast, by driving to the next town and cycling in from there. That made it 28km in. A lot of stop/start in London killed my avg speed

Goals: do my training plan, don't get injured! Well, I'm already off plan thanks to work.

6/1: 90 minute trainer ride with hard intervals
    6/2: scheduled rest day
6/3: unscheduled rest day (emergency work poop)
6/4: back on ye olde trainer for 90/intervals
