06 Sat - 100 kilometre ride on our Bike Friday Pocket Llamas (folding bikes). The route was relatively flat, but had the added challenge of rain for the first half of the ride. Fortunately it was a warm day for winter, and wasn't at all windy for a change!

That was the longest distance we have ridden the folding bikes so far. It was kind of a test ride to see how we would go over that distance. We were reasonably comfortable. I was having a few back/right hip issues, but stretching seemed to help.

100.72 km in 6 hours 25 min 34 sec total.
(Moving time was 5 hours 31 min 26 sec)

6/7 - 55.9 miles on the 70.3 bike course in 4:00:28. was supposed to shoot for 17mph avg (which was a long shot anyway, as I've been averaging 15mph the past couple of times out). averaged 14.

nature and my body were against me today. :( slept poorly last night, it was cold this am (so my toes got numb and never warmed up), i was attacked by those fluffy white seed things. i inhaled a bug that sent me into a 5 min coughing fit, it was super gusty today which made aero impossible for a good chunk of the ride. and my hamstring started bothering me on mile 20 or so, which made me have to increase my cadence and drop my speed. but i did it. The race is TWO WEEKS from today. I am SO tired. Hopefully my taper starts this week. I should get my schedule from my coach later today.

    Totals through 6/7:
Swim: 2.89 miles in 1.81 hours (2 swims)
Bike: 92.20 miles in 6.65 hours (3 rides)
Run: 12.43 miles in 2.32 hours (2 runs)
    Yoga: 1 class

6/7- 31.5 miles of rolling hills on the bike this morning, plus a quick (painful) brick run on mtb trails! Beautiful day for a ride- more bikes than cars out there!
30 minutes of yoga to loosen up my tight hip.

@gobonas99 These numbers confuse me, trying to figure out how long 6.65 hours is...

When is your 70.3? Good that you can get out on the course to see how it is :)

@csman49 - 6.65 hours is roughly 6 hours 39 minutes - just take 60 minutes times the partial hour (.65) to get the minutes. I don't calc it manually though...mapmyrun does it for me :)

My 70.3 is on the 21st....13 days. I am going to die.... :o

6/8 - my instructions from my coach for today were: if hamstring is still bothering me then do a 60 min easy walk...if it's feeling better, go to Lofty Ladies and do an easy, high cadence spin. It is still SORE today, but it doesn't HURT like it did yesterday, so I went to Lofty Ladies. Did 18 miles in 1:11:55 (with traffic/regathering stops). Averaged 84 cadence with a LOT of coasting. Although it DID hurt going over bumps from the saddle bouncing against the sorest spot, the actual act of riding/pedaling did NOT hurt. So that's good. :) And I got a bonus bit of yoga in after the ride to stretch out. :)

    Totals through 6/7:
Swim: 2.89 miles in 1.81 hours (2 swims)
Bike: 110.20 miles in 7.85 hours (4 rides)
Run: 12.43 miles in 2.32 hours (2 runs)
Yoga: 1 class (plus 15 min bonus yoga after LL)

@SBRRepeat - thanks! Last week was my final high volume week, thank goodness. I am SO tired. My taper will be starting this week. But I don't have my schedule for after tomorrow yet, because my coach is waiting to see how my hammy feels after today's ride and my race tomorrow night (Corporate Challenge)
