Yes, because there is no reason not to start a sentence with a conjunction. Admittedly I forgot my fullstops (periods to you Americans) but it's the internet and that happens a lot ... I had one too few dots in my ellipsis too

It's commonly used in Australia as well but then again, it is part of the Commonwealth ;-)0

most over used words on mfp..
is this bad…?0 -
My bff is a Brit and speaks the Queen's English - accent and all. I've known her for 20 years now, and it *still* cracks me up when she uses the F-bomb on a rare occasion.
It sounds like her Majesty going all commoner.

Yes! My wife only tolerates swearing if it's done with a British or Audie accent.

I like the word 'journey' people use here. I makes me think of the traveling people do in movies.
They go from one land to another and sometimes on a mountain top, stopping in different villages to exchange tales and fight dragons.
That's why I like it.0 -
I dont like the word 'lose' because according English rules it should be pronounced with a long 'O' otherwise it should be spelled luse or luze.
This is why I like math. It makes sense.0 -
I never use the word 'whilst' (and I'm British!) and I haven't noticed any overuse on here....
there is alot of bad grammar and spelling mistakes which gets my goat a bit but I'm not perfect either lol0 -
It doesn't bother me but my family is British. I spell colour and other words with the extra U since I'm Canadian. It's all good to me. Now if someone says the word "moist" that's a different story. Now that's an annoying word!0

There are some things that make me proud to be British. Our language is definitely one of them, but i think that is because i am mean and i like the confusion it causes in other people.
I am currently loving the whole 'cheeky Nando's' thing that is going around. I don't care if it is all made up, or blown out of proportion...it just sums up everything i love about this language0 -

Why is it bad grammar? Perfectly fine as far as I understand and the whole thread is just mystifying.0 -

I read through this thread right after I woke up and wondered if I dreamt the whole thing.
I adore Brit speak. My family uses it quite a lot, my Nan was from Staffordshire, and passed on her way of speaking.0 -
Am I weird that I've never seen a word that bothered me?
Edit: on a second thought txtng and l337 speech bother me because they take more effort to read. Glad there is none of that here.0 -

I'm lost...
Whilst you may not like it, it is a legitimate word.
I see no reason as to why anyone would have issues with it, nor why it should be avoided.professionalHobbyist wrote: »

I hate the word weetabix.
Say it over and over in your head a few times, it burrows into your brain and makes you feel a little crazy.
Perhaps it's just me...0 -
I go for "bro", bro.0
