I was terrible the week before last and gained almost 5lbs (so much for a 2lb loss goal). I'm happy that I got back to where I was on the 27th. I could kick myself knowing if I could lose that much this week I could have done it the week before too and would be at 152lb (a new record low) right now. Hopefully I can stay on track this week.0 -

A little late checking in- we were away for a few days.
Weight loss goal this week: 2 lbs
Actual weight loss: 1 lb
Glad to see a loss - especially with being away! Getting so close to my goal-- I have 2 weeks left to hit ONEderland!
Goal for this week:- 2 lbs0 -
Jennifer you are doing good, 16.3 pound total loss is great you are now in Wonderland. Below 200 that is fabulous!
I hope I can soon join you, just can't seem to move off the 204.8. I hurt my foot and have not been able to walk my 3 to 4 miles a day. It makes a difference. Hang in there- We Can Do This!
We really can do this! I took the time to remember where I was when I started this challenge and thanks to you and others on here I am now healthier than I have been in years. A big step for me is that for the past 2 weeks I have been craving chocolate and went to the bulk barn today and bought only two small dark chocolate wafers. That would have never crossed my mind 12 weeks ago. Thank you Izzy for starting this challenge. God bless0 -
Thank you Jennifermi for you kind words and you have been inspiration to me. This morning I am down to 201.1!
I have had a stomach bug, but I hope that I can keep moving down the scale. My goal was to be at 199 by 9/18.
I think I can make it. We are going on vacation soon and I know I will probably gain back a few pounds, I will try hard not to.
The 15th will be the end of my first 12 weeks, I am not stopping. I will move in to the second 12 weeks with
enthusiasm because of everyone here and your support. I have a goal to meet by mid November when I have a recheck with my doctor. I started the challenge to be an on going challenge so everyone could join in at anytime.
We all know that weight loss is an on going challenge with most of us and even when we reach our goals.

Congrats on your 10 lbs Izzy!!!!! In another 12 weeks if you continue at the same rate, you'll be down almost 10%. Not too shabby And that is something to be proud of!!!!
Sometimes I feel like we get so wrapped up in the day to day, week to week- that we forget to look at the big picture.0 -
Thanks and I agree. I know what I need to do to get to where I need to be and I will keep going until I arrive at my goal. I have lost 31 pounds sense I started in 2014. I know that's not setting any records, but for me its feels good.0

Have you reached a weight loss plateau?
Stop and reflect — and make sure that you're not going overboard with portions. Going back to strict measuring and planning can help confirm that you're not unknowingly going off plan. Also try mixing up your routines. If you have been eating eggs every morning, try having fruit/veggie smoothies or oatmeal. The same goes for exercise, switch it out. EDH

Good Sunday Morning
Its a cool beautiful day here and I am feeling like getting outside for a nice long walk. My energy is coming back after several days of a stomach bug. I am still not back to normal, but much better. Well, I have 5 days to lose a few more pounds before my 12 week goal. I am hoping to get back on track and start eating more normally and enjoy a good salad. It has been quite on this thread this weekend and I hope everyone is doing well. Its Sunday and a great day for family, enjoy.0 -
Is it possible to hit a plateau then suddenly start losing weight again?? I lost ten pounds then didn't lose anything for about three months and now I am again0

@gabriele01 Congratulations for hitting your 100 miles this month.
I got my Serengeti Award on Fitbit on 26th August and it really gave me a boost. I have walked 500 miles since March this year.
I had major hip surgery on 4th September so haven't weighed myself this week as I have quite a lot of swelling and water retention issues. I will repost in a week or two when things stabilise a bit more.0 -

yes.
No matter how dedicated you are to losing weight, you will hit a plateau at some point in your diet. The human body is incredibly adaptive, and will do its level best to maintain equilibrium (homeostasis). The plateauing effect is the biggest motivation-killer there is. When you make the mistake of doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result is when it usually happens. Then when you change the menu or exercise, you shock your body into losing again.

These last 2 weeks were hard...much more temptation. We had friends stay with us labor day weekend and my family was in town this weekend. We would have charcuterie cut pre-dinner and ate out a few meals, although it was nice having everyone close to us because I only chose places where I could look up the calories. I also drank a few glasses of wine, and I've pretty much been off drinking since I started MFP in mid-July. Excited to be back on the saddle Only 3 more weeks to lose 6.6 pounds. Doable but will take some focus and planning! Excited to give it a try!0 -

Weight loss this week: 1lb, with a total weight loss for 11 weeks of 12lb. After a week of no loss at all, I'm so happy to be down even just 1lb. I'm trying not to get too disheartened, as I've seen quite a bit of inch loss in the last couple of weeks, despite the scales not budging. So clearly my body is changing, just not so much on the scales right now. I've still got 2lb to reach the original 12 week goal by next week - given my recent form, that seems to be a bit of a stretch, so I'll be happy with any kind of loss over the next 7 days! In any case, I'm already looking ahead at the 13 weeks after that until Christmas, and looking at this as a much more long term challenge than even 12 weeks.0 -
Good Morning Everyone
Meghan get back on track, we all have little set backs. You have done so well and no doubt you will get there.
dizzieblondeuk
keep up the good work, seeing inches lost is sure sign that you are losing and the pounds so far. Great!
The next 13 weeks will give you more to look forward to. The holidays will becoming and we all want to look good.
The long term goal and being healthy is the ultimate goal and I am there with you. I have my work cut out for me as well. We all can do this!

So bummed...up and down I go where I'll stop no one will know. My 12 weeks are up and I didn't make my goal weight. I am 2 pounds away. I did this to myself. I am going to continue to fight for myself!0 -
I did it!!!
I stepped on the scales this morning and felt like a million bucks! Had a doctor's appointment today for my 3 month follow up since my type 2 diagnosis in June, and my doc had to look a the numbers twice ;-) Not only have I lost over 50 pounds in 3 months, but my A1C has gone from 7.1 to 5.3, and my triglycerides have dropped by over 50% from 211 to a healthy 95. Nobody ever said it was easy, but it is SO worth it! And one day, my story will appear in the success stories feed that for now I read as an inspiration and motivator at least once a week. Congrats to all who have lost during this challenge! Even if you haven't hit your goal just yet, there are better days ahead, and you will get there!!
Don't beat yourself up, just start making better choices one day at a time!!

Had a greate week this week and honestly was hoping for more but since it is also day one of TOM I am thinking next week will be better. This is the last week of my 12 weeks but I am loving having the support I have found in here. I will be starting a new 12 weeks now and hope I can see the same amount of weight loss in the next 12 weeks. Thank you to everyone who has become a support for me. If anyone would like support, or who could also help support me (I can use help always) please add me. Thank you Izzy for staring this thread0
