Lol, I hear ha! My husband brought home a blueberry coffee cake which looks AWESOME! He keeps saying "you should really try a little piece, just one little piece?" NOPE! I told him he wasn't being supportive, too. Twit.0

Thankfully the only edible things that my wife can cook are healthy. For me the challenge is leaving her at home when I go grocery shopping. If she comes with it's potato chips, sweet tea and other empty calorie laiden foods. I may as well throw my healthy menu and shopping list out the window.

I also try to take over the cooking and dishing of food so that I can sneak in weighing everything and sneak him larger (size appropriate) portions by piling them differently. I get called "controlling" but it's worth it! lol
Sooo...your husband is refusing to eat anything but what you eat in order to attempt to control what/how much you eat...but YOU are controlling?
Hahaha very good point! I think I'll have to take a screen shot of this comment and send it to him. We have an ongoing debate over who is the most controlling out of the two of us.....this outside opinion might be just the edge I need! Thanks, Jennifer.
I would not do this. A little snippet of your life in the forums is only going to start an argument if you bring that to your husband. Outside opinion what does that even mean. Does this outside opinion know you both?0 -

Then headed to chik fil a for some chicken for protein. Chik fil a has surprising low calorie (if you do it right)food and thier buffalo sauce is low as well

I agree! Free stuff at our office all of the time. Yes gym helps, but 5 slices of pizza would probably be 10 miles of running for good pizza. I shudder to think of how much lifting it would require. Although there was a blog against it I was considering a cheat day on the major holidays.0 -

I get an attitude with the hubs when I see all the cookies and ice cream after he has gone grocery shopping but in fairness he went grocery shopping and has heard me say I wish I had some oreos/ice cream.
Now if he could just want to put both feet into the fitness wagon instead of just a pinkie finger and join me in wanting a potentially healthy middle age I would really like that.
Where I see a real problem is with a friend. She seems to make lots of desserts and such meanwhile her husband has had amputations due to being diabetic. She even brought up one time that he was mad at her for making the desserts. Can only shake your head and be glad its not you.

I do the same whenever I do the groceries - swear that's genetic - picking up the richest, most decedent ice cream.
Now the wife and I have a healthy joking relationship with food and will toss candy at one another saying "Eat it fatty!"

I like to buy "banded" bananas at the grocery store, take them home and let them turn all mushy and over ripe. Then I make 7 or 8 loaves of banana bread and donate them to the local food bank. Sometimes I will take 4 or 5 thin slices off of a loaf and give the rest to my kids. This is how I got rid of all of the white flour and granulated sugar in my house. I also had 2 cans of butter Crisco that went into the bread. My cupboards are clean and green now...0

I'd say let him be hungry. If he refuses to eat unless you do, its on him if it isn't enough. I'm concerned he'd place responsibility for his hunger on your shoulders.

Ask her to make mini desserts. my husband loves sweets, so instead of a cake, I make cupcakes. I eat one, he eats 6, I take the rest to work. Same with other things, make mini brownies, mini cheesecakes. If its something I cant make smaller, then I cut it up before serving it and pack half of it away.0

My husband cooks our dinner cause he gets home first with the kids. He rarely cooks healthy dinner and what he thinks is healthy is coated with calories. Otherwise half of what he cooks he in a frying pan with butter. It is frustrating0
