But a couple of words to the wise
Calling out other people's paths as for losers is ridiculous and fairly rude...there are many valid reasons as to how often and when people weigh...some like to understand scale weight fluctuations ...nobody has a weight but a weight range and it can be fascinating to watch that 5lb swing and know it's just water
Lots of us are fit, lots of us are striving to be fitter...everyone is
Your opinion is just that ..an opinion..it's not advice so don't term it as such unless you can back it up with science because you will get short shrift from those who actually know more
Maybe you could kick it back a notch, settle down and learn stuff ...

Oh dear..................See, the thing about opinions is, everyone has one. So while you're free to post yours in an open public forum, people with opposing/different views are also free to express them and challenge you. It's not an attack, it's a difference of opinion.
MY opinion is that I don't eat "diet food". I eat food I enjoy, that keeps me satisfied, that meets my dietary requirements without being too obsessive and allows for daily treats and yummy things. That's what makes this easy for me to sustain, I've been at it since February, seriously since April.
I work out 3-6 times per week and my performance is no poorer for fitting a couple of cookies into my day! Now shark week, that's a whole 'nother thing, don't make me run for three days every month because I'll be a wobbly crying wreck!0 -
Meh. I weigh daily, eat chocolate and cheese daily, and will do extra activity to earn more calories for food I like eating if I feel like I want to eat more. Down over 120 lbs. And I doubt I would have made it even half as far if sweets and cheese weren't allowable.
You've got some seriously successful people responding to you, letting you in on the big secret that success doesn't have to come at such a high pricetag.
You don't have to eat cookies or cheese, but you also don't have to NOT eat them to get where you want to go. You don't have to suffer needlessly and that's not good for adherence anyway.
For weighing daily, I do it because it helps me with being emotionally detached, it takes the drama and anticipation and all the useless feels out of the act of weighing myself. It's just data, and weighing daily keeps it fairly uneventful. I also feel more accountable in my intake during the day knowing I will step on the scale the next morning, as opposed to a week or more before having to step on to face the music.0 -

Excellent words. I know that I need to try to remember not to take things personally when I post, too (although it can be frustrating because not everyone says what they think as gently or as eloquently as you do).
Also, I like your points about weighing daily. I do a good job of using the information as motivation and to remind me to slow up on the salt, for example, but I need to look at it more like data on the days when it makes me sad. Thanks for that!0 -
bleeughh you don't have to eat low fat DIET food..Most everything i eat and drink is full fat. I average over 100+ grams of fat everyday. Eating fat does NOT make you fat.0

Apparently I'm a sad loser because I weigh daily and don't feel that in order to lose weight I can't ever have anything just for the sake of deliciousness.
If that's what being a sad loser is all about, I'm comfortable with that.
Any why is it that it's always the person who feels they're being attacked who is the first to actually start attacking and throwing insults?0 -

I find exercising really helps and drinking plenty of water, I mean litres of it.
Besides after working so hard why would you want to ruin it just for a biscuit or some chocolate.
Trust me it's not worth it, the human body is capable of incredible things just push yourself

Welcome! You know, it's fine if the above is your outlook on weight loss, but please know there are many different outlooks that are different from yours. Also weight loss is not about food type, about demonizing food pleasure, and my thinking the only way to get results is food type restriction.
Yes, food fuels our bodies and, in my opinion, a good choice is to eat to live not live to eat, but that does not mean there food does not bring pleasure. Take social situations for example; at Thanksgiving, while perhaps many of us were with family and/or friends, didn't we partake in the pleasures of good food, great conversation, and the opportunity to spend time with those we love?
Life is too short to be so black and white about food. Just because you have some cookies or ice cream or other treats in your dietary plan does not mean you will not see results. I have something sweet every single day if my calories and macros allow, and I have seen plenty of results. In fact, I lost 44 pounds this way and I have been maintaining for two years. I weight life, run, and do other cardio, and I'm 54 years old. I have seen amazing changes in my body, for which I am very proud.
I was overweight to obese for my entire life, but the only time I was able to get the weight off and keep it off was when I started eating the foods I love in moderation. This means I weigh my good, log everything I eat, exercise and log cardio exercise calories, and I work to stay within the calorie goals based on my weight management goals.
I encourage you to lighten up your attitude a little bit and know that you do not have to severely restrict food choice to lose weight and get results.0 -

Given a choice between taking advice from someone like you who is very new to MFP and has only recently figured you what worked for you, and @rabbitjb who has had great success and has a track record of great advice, I pick rabbit. And rabbit would gladly tell me to have the cookie (and make it fit my macros).
I don't feel like a sad loser weighing daily, I like having the data available for review. I don't disparage those who pick other ways to measure their progress, though I'd question ways that aren't very productive.
Congrats on getting that first blush of enthusiasm on finding something that works for them. Just realize there's a lot of us who've seen that effect before and how some people become a bit overwrought evangelizing that they've found the 'one true path'.
