@louubelle16 I've kept a training diary since Feb this year. It helps me stay focused- I hate days with no entry. I haven't had anyone want to look at it, but I do note how I feel and what hurt. I can look back and see how long something bothered me. I also note my max HR and pace.

That's a really good idea. I've been using these threads to keep track of my miles, but I think I'd like to include more details and my strength training goals/results as well.

12/1 3.5 @ 11:17 on the treadmill plus strength training
12/2 5.25 @ 11:04 on the treadmill. Oh my heck, please let it be sunny tomorrow. Or at least not so wet.
12/3 4.75 @ 12:03 on the park trail with the doggy. Yay! Sunshine!
    12/4 3.5 @ 11:03 (really 3.25 at 10:48, plus .25 at a walk) on the treadmill, plus strength training
12/5 3 miles hiking with the cub scouts :)

12/6 Woke up feeling sore from Friday's strength training, so took a rest day
12/7 9.25 @ 12:26 on the park trail, nice and easy
    12/8 3.75 @ 10:48 on the treadmill (3.5 at 10:39, .25 walk), plus stretch/yoga
    12/9 5.25 @ 11:32 on the treadmill
12/10 Sort of rest day? Trip to Colonial Williamsburg with my daughter's history class. Lots of walking!
    12/11 6.25 @ 11:18 on the treadmill.
    12/12 Rest Day

    12/13 3.25 @ 10:10 (5K race chip time 32:06--I finished 191/395 women 30/64 in my age group)
    12/14 7.25 @ 12:03 (7 @ 11:57 and .25 walking) on the park trails
12/15 2.0 @ 10:29 on the treadmill and strength training
    12/16 5.0 @ 11:49 on the park trail
12/17 Rest Day. It is cold and wet and my back hurts from present wrapping. Bah humbug.
    12/18 6.0 on the treadmill (5 @ 11:40 and 1 walking) plus strength training
    12/19 Rest day

12/20 Sick day -- I seem to have developed the creepin' crud
12/21 8 @ 12:00 on the treadmill (7 at 11:34 and 1 mile at a walk) breathing ok, but still feeling tired
12/22 4 @ 12:00 on the treadmill and strength training
    12/23 3.5 @ 10:13 on the treadmill
12/24 2.25 @ 13ish outside in the drippy-drippy rain and humidity. With the slowest dog on earth. Who has been stuck inside because of the rain and needed to get rid of 3 days worth of...stuff. And needed to chase *all* the squirrels. Ugh. I think I actually ran pretty well when I was actually, you know, running.
12/25 Merry Christmas Rest Day. Happy Holidays to all!
12/26 5 @ 11:38 through the neighborhood trails in my brand new super-squishy purple slime Guide 8s and the most expensive pair of socks (Feetures) I've ever owned. Woohoo!

12/27 Rest Day (taking an anniversary weekend getaway with the hubby and staying at a fancy-dancy hotel)
12/28 3.5 @ 11:42 on the treadmill in the gym at the fancy-dancy hotel. Sadly, the treadmill was yuck, not fancy.
12/29 3 @ 10:20 and 1 walking on the treadmill, plus strength training (worked on legs or I would have run farther! I'm afraid I won't get a long run this week with company and such, so I'll just work on speed).
    12/30
    12/31

    Upcoming races:
    1/18/16 -- MLK 8K at Burke Lake
    2/21/16 -- Disney Princess HM

Thanks @Elise4270, I'll definitely try to keep it up as it sounds like it's been really useful to you. As I'm quite injury prone, it could be quite beneficial to chart aches and pains and maybe see patterns/causes etc. I think I will include strength goals in it too as it's a sizeable part of my training programme now. Great idea @5BeautifulDays

@MorningGhost14 - Love me some Led Zeppelin. Not so great for running, though.
@Elise4270 - OCD for sure! But, in a good way!
    @ddmom0811 - Wow! Congratulations on 30 years!
@Stoshew71 - Impressive group on Christmas Eve! Flooded trails are crazy...hope you found somewhere else to run
@juliet3455 - Yep...my feed bag has been strapped on for about a week. Got on the scale this morning..."only" found 3 pounds.
@runner_girl83 - Yes! I get pretty upset when something unintended infringes upon the lovely workout I was planning or anticipating. It is good that it is usually early in the day and my family are all in bed.
@Virkati - Congrats on the new distance PR! Way to stretch yourself!
@moyer566 - Nice haul! Santa was good to you!
    @skippygirlsmom - Tshirts? Yes, please!!

@louubelle16 , @Elise4270 , @5BeautifulDays and Every other Runner. One of the Ladies in my Local Running Club Keeps a " Clothing - Weather Journal " in the back of her Training/Workout Journal as a way to log her Run, Weather and Clothing so when she looks at the Temperature/Winds she can quickly pick out the Best Clothing Mix for the Planned Run and Conditions. I think that is a brilliant idea as a 10k Flat Run versus a 10k Hill Run is a completely different Clothing Requirement no matter what the Temperature/Wind.
@Stoshew71 That is a dedicated core group of " Storm Water " runners you have.
@moyer566 No Coal under your Tree, Nice = Runner Envy.
    @skippygirlsmom I agree with @karllundy on T-Shirts. Yes Please.

We are trying to Do a Special Headband/Toque for our Core Group with Silk Screened Logos of stylized Male/Female runners and our Local RR and Car Bridge as we try to capture them in all our Trail Pictures.

I do that in the Garmin site with mine lately. It's been helpful to see which outfits kept me warm, toasty or chilly as the temperatures drop. I always struggle when we start to get cooler temps because I can't remember what works best for which conditions!

And because you guys are so full of wonderful ideas and information, I'm starting a training journal too. Knowing NEXT winter the things I wish I knew THIS winter will be awesome.

Thanks. The Christmas Eve run (Thursday morning) we went to downtown Huntsville (normally we run in Research Park starting and ending at the Panera Bread in the Bridgestreet Mall - thus the Panera Pounders). But we decided to do something different and run through the Tinsel Trail - http://tinseltrail.com

Then is started pouring starting late Thursday evening hours into early Friday morning and flooded everything. Saturday morning we just ran through Research Park and avoided the adjacent greenway that was flooded (from the pictures I posted). The streets of Research Park was not flooded, thankfully. By late Sunday, the water did receed from the Greenway.

There is a regular group that meets Sunday mornings at Monte Sano http://www.alapark.com/monte-sano-state-park
to do an introductory trail run called No Runner Left Behind. Basically, they have a leader and a trailer. The trailer is responsible for making sure no one gets lost and everyone meets at the stops that are along the way of the route to make sure we all stay together (somewhat). Well, because of the flooding, they cancelled it and a group of us decided to go anyway.

It was very muddy on the trails but the flooding was not bad enough at Monte Sano to cause any risk to life.

Let me see if there is a way we can have shirts made and everyone can go online somewhere and order them and have them shipped directly to them. There must be a place that will do that right?

2/1 - 1.6 miles - 3K fun run with my friend John, who just lost almost 100 lbs :sunglasses: Oh yeah I realize 1.6 isn't a 3K but that's what they called it even though my watch said 1.6
    12/2 - life day
    12/3 - 5 miles
    12/4 - no mojo day
    12/5 - 7 miles
12/6 - 3.9 miles trail run with my running group
    12/7 - 5 miles
    12/8 - 12 - wrist surgery recovery
    12/13 - 4 miles
    12/14 - resting knee
12/15 - 3.5 miles with Skip - we ran after work and the lights on houses are so pretty - knee started to hurt at 2.5 so we cut it short
    12/16 - resting knee
    12/17 - 4 miles
    12/18-21 life days
    12/22 - 5 miles
12/23 - 3.2 miles - knee hurt from first step (UGH) of course I decided to run 3 more miles ha ha icing it now
    12/24 - rest day
12/25- too much pouring rain for me
    12/26 - 4 miles
    12/27 - rest day
    12/28 - PT day
12/29 - 4.2 miles with Skip - PT said I can do 3-4 miles by 3 I was in pain, but you gotta get home somehow ha ha

    50.4 of 120 miles

    exercise.png

Of course between wrist surgery and ouchie knee I knew I wouldn't make my goal. I figured if I got to 50 I'd be good, so I'm happy.

So behind on the thread. I need to get to it and read it all.

@morningghost14 Love your running clothes rack, LOL I would stand there and stare every morning trying to decided what to wear, worse than going to work.

We just got new shirts for my Panera Pounders group. I can find out how much shirts cost us? We did online ordering. Shipping to individual locations will cost extra.

So who is in? Color shirt? Design ideas?
We probably need like 30 shirt orders to make it worth while. Long sleeve or short sleeve?

@skippygirlsmom @Stoshew71 I have a tendency to run hot, so I'd go for short sleeve. AND I make sure I'm SEEN when I'm out, even if it isn't really necessary, so I'm suggesting one of the neon colors. Orange is my default, but anything would work for me. Do we have any graphic designers/artists in this group?

I like the design. Do we need permission from MFP to use the design?

I'm open for long or short sleeved and any color. I could use more tanks. So maybe another summer batch if this goes over.

@Virkati No help from me on the design. I don't even own crayons.

Please comment at the following link if you are interested in a shirt and/or have any ideas of how to make them or what they should look like.

12/2 - 3 miles at 4:15am, I am tired but glad I got out as it is supposed to be a rain/snow mix tomorrow. Good start to the month. :)
12/5 - 3 miles. Getting faster but still working on cutting out the walk breaks.
12/7 - 1.5 miles. I tried my hilly park run and it was too much. My piriformis was complaining on the first down hill so I made it one loop instead of my planned 2 and quit. I gave it a good stretch and a cold shower when I got home and it is good today.
12/9 - 2.5 miles. Very stiff and sore. Never got into a good rhythm or loosened up after a session the day before with my trainer.
12/12 - 3 miles. Had an unleashed dog come running out to "protect" her owner as Neeko and I were going past. Luckily her owner was right there and she didn't go into attack mode, just ran out and barked at us. Only thing that got me really mad was her owner saw us coming and did nothing until she started out the drive and across the street. Luckily Neeko didn't really react and listened when I told him to stay and sit as he has a tendency to fixate and go into protect mode himself or it could have gone really badly.
12/14 - 2 miles. It was a beautiful 62 degrees out. Ran in shorts and a t-shirt which was wonderful until... I started chafing. Never had that problem before but I am hoping for Bodyglide in my stocking this year. Which means I am running to the store to buy some for myself and putting it there LOL.
12/19 - 1 mile. Ran a fast mile today and it started to snow as I was going down the driveway. Tried out new winter running tights and they were wonderful except they were short and cause about 3" of ankle to show so now I need to find a good pair of long socks. Tomorrow is my Santa Hussle 5k. Can't wait! There are 1700 runners signed up and another 700 for the half marathon. Told son if I do the half next year he needs to sign up as a volunteer/elf and he agreed frighteningly fast. So guess what I'm working towards LOL.
12/20 - 3 miles. Had a great 5k and set a PR. It was freezing but well worth it.
12/23 - 3 miles. Did an easy 3 miles on the treadmill at work today. Wish I could have gone outside but there isn't a really safe place to run here where I won't get hit by a car. Oh well, it should be warm for a few more days so I will make up for it.
12/25 - 2 mile. Was exhausted this morning after 2 days of 5 hours of sleep or less but needed to clear my head before starting the day. Plenty of time left in the month to surpass my goal.
12/27 - 2.6 miles. I was up at 6am with hubby then made the mistake of laying back down and didn't get up until 10:30 :( Had to leave for a day of hockey games for son at noon (6 total but only 20 minutes each) so instead of the 4 miles I planned on only had time for 2.6. I will do it Tuesday instead but at least I am over goal.
12/29 - 4 miles. Starting to slowly add miles. Did a run/walk today but will work up to a run only 4 miles by end of January, just in time to add the next mile.

    30.6 down 5.6 over goal.

@skippygirlsmom and @Elise4270 I was gonna say the same thing. I'd be so in for a shirt!!
