What Mini Goal is motivating you right now!

I'm 5'8" and saw a progress picture of another MFP member who now weighs 190 -- she looked awesome! So 190 is an easier goal to reach (I am 223+ right now and my initial goal was 180). This is such an incentive to step it up!!7

I have an appointment on January 11th for my annual checkup with my general practitioner. Last year, he pretended to be excited that I had lost 8 lbs between January 2015 and December 2015. I weighed 234 at the end of December 2015, and my goal is to get down to 184 by my January 11 2017 appointment. That would be a 50-lb loss and I think he would be excited for real! I'm at 192-193 today, normally losing 1.5 to 2lbs / week so I think 8 lbs in 6 weeks is do-able.
UPDATE:
Well, I got down to 185 according to his scale but 182 according to mine. He was still happy that I lost 49 lbs over the year. Then he asked what my goal weight is. I told him 150, possibly down to 140. He told me to try for 135, and that anything over 150 at my height (5 ft 5") is still too much. My bubble of happiness has temporarily burst. He gave me a year to do it, so I'll reset some mini goals after I recover from the gut-punch. So my next goal is to get rid of all my size 16 pants and XXL tops and fit into all size 14 jeans and Large tops. That should happen within 6 weeks, when all the stores start bringing out the cute spring clothes.
I'm 'replying' to this post SO LATE that actually now it might be relevant again. @LynnBBQ72 I'm guessing you've got another doctor's appointment coming up pretty soon. How's your progress been in the intervening several months? Are you personally satisfied with your efforts and/or results? Do you think your doctor will be pleased this year?2 -
I'm looking forward to wearing a 2x instead of a 3x.4

Woo hoo! I met my first mini goal, next stop under 200. I have been seeing things pop up in my facebook feed about my year of distance running in 2011 (half marathon was my longest). Lately I've been doing a run/walk combo for a total of 30 mins, gradually extending my running intervals. These lead to my next mini-goals:
Mini goal 1: get under 210 - met! (209.6)
Mini goal 2a: Onederland by late December or early January
Mini goal 2b: Run for 30 mins straight5 -
My current goal is to stay away from the Halloween candy!!9
-
300 lbs deadlift is my current goal.5
-
My mini-goal is to finish the C25K program and run a 5K with my 11 year old son (his first) next Sunday.9

Mine's really silly (I think) - this is my second round of major weight loss, the first was in 2009. I then gained all and some back over the last 6 years, so I'm about to reach my "first starting weight" and that for me shines light into the end of the tunnel!
Ah yes this is almost exactly my situation too. I dropped maybe 20 pounds in 2009. Didn't make it all the way to a healthy BMI before it started creeping back up, then went another 30 pounds over, sadly. Since I joined MFP in May of this year I've dropped those additional 30 pounds, which I couldn't be more pleased about, yet it's a little bit of a mind-*kitten* to understand that I'm only at the starting point of last time around.
This time will be different because last time was under pressure from my vain and micromanaging mom (even though I was in my mid-30s at the time!), who not only wanted me to lose weight but also was convinced she knew how I should go about it (she stuck a copy of the South Beach Diet book in my hand). This time I'm doing it for myself and with the MFP community and 'If it fits in my calories/macros' I'm doing it in a way that is, I think, logical and sustainable for my personal situation. So I'm motivated by the little successes and the taking stock process I've been going through along the way.6 -
Start 2018 in Onederland.
SW 225, CW 211. Libra says I'm on track for mid December.
I'm trying not to look too far ahead, but rather focus on making choices each day that get me closer to my goals.7 -
I definitely beat my time from last year, and was not last. Approx. 25 minutes better, AFTER running the 1K with my 2 year old, who was the littlest and probably the youngest there (& not last either). I don't know my overall finish but i was 22/30 just in my age group so goal smashed for sure. I made it a 7K or so between Little Bit's 1K and my 5K, then going back on the course to meet my husband and sister in law for their finish. ♡♡♡10

8 more pounds to be under 230, a place I don’t remember being in at least 6 years, maybe longer.10

Getting my cycling cadence up from only in the upper 60's to be 85.Then my husband will put on a better component for my bicycle. So I can cycle faster. Cadence is the number of times you pedal per minute.6

This week's mini goal is to stay under calories all week and reduce my sugar intake, especially since I have 2 Halloween parties to attend on Saturday, and I know I'll be indulging. I'm currently down with a wicked cold, so I'll be stuck getting exercise in by just walking.
Still aiming for sitting solidly in ONEDERLAND. I'm trying to do it by Thanksgiving! About 10 lbs to go!7 -
Reach 20 lbs lost, only .5 away! Goal 2 is to stay there! Lol4
-
6 pounds away from being in the 140's!! Hopefully make it by new years!! (I know these holidays are gonna slow me down )5
-
Mine is to get below 150 (I am 5'1"). Reading many posts and interacting is so motivating. I can do this. I also made a list of rewards at various weight-loss points. My first one is a big one to get me started: new cross-trainers.3

I found a pair of trousers from a few years back that I adore - size 8s from The Limited in a gorgeous shade of sage green. I can pull them on and over my hips with ease, but can't zip them up yet. Soon, my pretties. Soon.8

I may be crazy for even considering this, and I need to decide very soon, but I just MAY sign up for the Rock N Roll half marathon on 12/3. The most I have done is a 5K (preceeded by a 1K with my little one, and followed by a 1K going back on the course to meet my husband and sister in law). I can easily do the 5K that day but like my trainer says, if it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you.5
-
4 more days and I will have been within my goalweight-zone for a full year.
@brookielaw : Sign up for this half-marathon.
You have more than 1 month left to prepare ...
Why are you still reading this? You should be out there training!

A pound a week until Christmas. Super doable. Would put me at 52 pounds down this year.15
-
Bench 400, Deadlift 500, Squat 600. Its doable just gotta stay committed.7

Current mini goal is to be in the healthy BMI range (3 more pounds) and lose a total of 100 lbs by the end of the year (10 pounds away). Also, a mini mini goal is to be able to fit chocolate into my calories/marcos today.9

Easy:
Seems @brookielaw just found a partner for training

I've reached the point where people are telling me I look good and assuming I'm done losing weight. However, I'm gunning for that overachiever, fit look--the one where you actually look like you work out. Hoping to reach it by the end of the year!9
-
Logging every morsel heading into the weekend....with everything else in alignment I should have dropped at least half pound this week but I did not. I have been gaining and losing the same 4 pounds since July. I am getting pissed at myself. so the plan is: have a plan and stick to it for one day at a time!6
-
I'm wanting out of the 200s. I'm 207 right now, and 198 (because 199 is too close) is only 9 lbs away. I'd like to be there by Christmas.12

I just started over again, and made nearly 40 mini goals, and 128 NSV to hit! Today I hit my goal for "No longer Morbidly Obese!" Which is super great! Next up is to hit my weight from the start of the summer before going on a long work trip where I gained a lot of weight, and then a more important 5% lost goal. Feeling pretty good about it actually14
-
At the moment :: No longer being Morbid Obese. 12 more lbs till I am just obese class 2 heh8
