Having surpassed my first goal, I imagine I will surpass for definite my second goal tonight. Will have to think up a third goal to hit before the weekend is out!! Might try and stretch to 125 miles but we will see where we go!
I really struggle with the weather at the moment, its bitterly cold and although I go to the bike in the gym its the to and from the gym is freezing so lastnight I wore trackie bottoms! Thought id solved all my issues until I got to the gym and realised all 4 stationary bikes were in "use" by 4 women, sat there, not really peddling and chatting! 2 lasted 4 minutes, the other 2 lasted 9 mins! Hate having to wait on equipment on people who aren't even genuinely using them but heyho its the nature of the beast as they say!!0 -
It's been a bit of a slow month, but then again it is February. In Minnesota. I'm hoping to finish the month strong and bike most of the remaining days. A possible high of 54 on Saturday means I may bring out my road bike. Dear God how I miss my road bike. Don't get me wrong, I love my trusty vintage schwinn winter rig, and it's served me well in the snow and sleet and wind and whatnot of winter, but on my road bike I feel like I'm flying.

Feb 16 - in which I end up flat on my back. Dang that ice man, it's insidious. First wipe out of the year, second of the winter (ended up flat on my front late last year). Slow speed this time, I made the mistake of braking and turning to cross the street. But, still got back up and went the rest of the way to work, and then back home again. 15 miles

Feb 23 - 17 miles - it was a gorgeous day on the way home from work, so I went along the river, which I haven't done since December. I try to stick near the light rail on my commute, in case I wipe out and need to hobble to the train to get home.

Feb 20 - 46.9 km (148 min) cycling. Actually, it was a lot longer than 148 min, but I entered that to get a realistic calorie amount.
On this day, my husband and I accomplished one of the goals that has been on my list since we arrived in Tasmania. We cycled up kunanyi/Mt Wellington!!
We started in a location about 2 metres above sea level ... and cycled up and up and up until 24 km later, we reached the top at an elevation of 1271 metres (4170 feet).
