    Good evening ladies

I hope everyone’s day is ending on a good note. Hot here, going on second level water restrictions and that is hard on the gardens.

Oh Jane – I am so happy for you and your husband. You must be so proud and happy for his success!!

Robin – so nice to hear you are enjoying the new position and planning for more success.
I love my furbabies too, but one is getting old and in the last month I can really see some changes. I’m trying to remember this is the natural progression and not panic about it

Heather – love, love, love your “normal BMI” necklace!

Cheryl – prayers for your daughter and that you will be the support she needs now in this very difficult time. And yes, she is beautiful.

Sandy from Ontario – nice photo! Where abouts in Ontario are you (used to live there but that’s sort of like saying “oh you’re from Canada – do you know so and so and they’re 4000 miles away).

Michele – yeah, I don’t know what it is, but I too have to totally clean the house before I leave for even a couple of days. Seems kind of senseless doesn’t it?

Day off again tomorrow. Looking forward to sitting on the patio in morning sunshine having my coffee. Life is good.
For those of you looking at my strange menus for the last few days - i"m getting a new fridge on Saturday so am eating as many of the frozen meal portions as I can to clean out the freezer and start relatively fresh.

I'm getting concerned about how I feel. I have not been to the Y in about 3 weeks except for a day here and there, very sporadic and have not felt like doing anything while I am there. I know a good part of this time I didn't feel like doing anything because of my occipital nerve inflammation. All that is totally gone but I am constantly hungry, feel like a wet limp dish rag. I have lost 6 pounds since my weigh in June 26 and lost 10 inches so far this month. I just don't feel good   :frown: . I guess it's time to call either the doctor or my diabetic clinician. I've got to feel like a grandma in a week, go to an amusement park and have a small party. Of course parties in our family mean family members only get together, have cake and open presents. Her Mom can host all that and I will be in an electric scooter at the park.

As a nurse when some one just doesn't feel good and has lost 6 pounds and 10 inches in a month something can be wrong.

Joyce: I hope you follow through and see a doctor. Weight loss is grand, but not when it goes along with not feeling good & having no energy. I hope it isn’t anything serious, but it is time to find out. Let us know what your doctor says.

Heather: I love the necklace. You look wonderful wearing it.

Barbie: You are so inspirational. I love knowing how fulfilling your ilfe is and how much you manage to accomplish.:flowerforyou:

I've missed replying to so many, but I"m thinking about you. :flowerforyou:

I can’t believe it, but I already got my mammogram results with pictures! The doctor subscribes to something called MyHealth, and the results were posted to my account there. It is a way for patients & doctors to communicate. I can send in messages and questions on non-emergency things and get answers from the doctor’s office. She can send me messages to nag me to get my mammogram. I’m liking this system pretty well, especially right now, when the results were back and in my message box in only one day. Maybe many of you are familiar with this, but it is pretty new to me.

Tomorrow we’ll be loading the boat, and hopefully leaving to go down the river. I’ll post when I can, but it may not happen. I don’t know if there will be internet access anywhere along the way.

    1. Log every bite
    2. Move more.

    Hi Everyone,

I had a lovely, peaceful swim in my sister's pool, no one was home. They live in a rural area with trees everywhere...it was beautiful!

Katla…have a wonderful trip, I love being on and or near the water! You’ve reminded me that it is past time for my mammogram…how nice that you were able to get your results so quickly.

Joyce…Sounds like you need to talk to your Dr. or your diabetic nurse. Take care.

Lila…water restrictions are not fun…hope your garden does OK.

Pat…sorry the unpredictable monsoons are keeping you away from swimming.

Vicki…I agree with Pat, when you hit the awesome 100 pounds down, I would like a pedicure (something I’ve never had) in your honor.

Yanniejannie…thank you for the compliment regarding my son, we are proud, he is prepared for his trip and tonight before he left he gave me a rare heartfelt hug.

    M. …I am increasing my exercise and beginning to feel muscles that I had forgotten about, feels good.

Jodios…a bike ride along the river sounds wonderful!

Cheryl…So very sorry about the difficulties your daughter (stepdaughter) is going through, she is a beautiful girl, my sympathies in her loss. It is so important that you are advocating for her, respecting her feelings and helping her find counseling.

Grandmallie…are there therapeutic/comfort shoes that can help? My feet were painful after work; the floor is linoleum on cement. I found shoes (expensive for me, with arch support and cushions for the heels) that felt like slippers for my feet. It was worth the investment…my feet are happy. I also like the emerald 100 calorie pack natural almonds, helps me keep my almond eating under control…I love crunchy food.

Robin…glad you are in a positive work environment and now have time to care for yourself, of course those fur boys help.

    Subzero…I agree, downsizing is liberating.

Meg…The imagine of your DH collecting urine made me smile.

Jane…Congrats on your hubby’s new job!!

    Janie…Good for you…keep on moving!

Michele…Thank you for the recommendation of Rick Steve’s language phrase book, I think my son appreciated the one I got for him today for his trip.

    Molly…positive thoughts are good.

    Gail…Six miles, way to go!

    Suzy…thanks for the zucchini recipe

Kathy…Many years ago, during a stressful time, I was experiencing tingling/numbness in my hands. The cause was a misalignment in my neck; I went twice a week to the chiropractor for six weeks. I agree with you, it was difficult to fully relax just before the neck adjustment, but after each session I felt better. Hope you are feeling better soon.

    Sandy…Keep on smiling.

Dee Dee…Hope you had a great time with your grandgirls/daughter/son-in-law at dinner.

Heather…Oh my goodness, your Mom heart must have been so anxious and then so relieved!! As my son left tonight, he seemed prepared and confident, which helped me be relaxed and excited for him and his travels.

Good morning from a much cooler Hampshire. We had fog this am and a local ferry was cancelled. Tomorrow it is going to be POURING. I am relieved for our poor garden, but it is the day we will be travelling up to London on the train and babysitting DGS for the pm and night. No trip to the park so I will be taking a Funny Faces sticker book, which I will enjoy even if he doesn't! As usual DH will do all the ball play in the hall and kitchen. I am better at the craft stuff. I can't wait to see the sweetheart.:love:
My friend from near where I used to live, that I used to teach with, has promised to come over to see us. Hope she makes it in the rain. She is one of my bestest friends!

Then on Sunday we shall be back trying to get sorted for the visitors. The cleaner should be able to whizz round the bits they will see before they arrive, but she hasn't been for two weeks so some of it will have to be left. I don't think a couple with two small children and severe sleep deprivation will be peering at my dust. They will probably just want a nice unstressed hostess and DH to take the 3 yr old off their hands for an hour or so. I am good at babies so will get the food cooked in the morning so I will be able to do my share of dandling. We normally lead such a quiet life so all this activity will wear us both out, but in a good way.

When they have gone I will have to apply myself to booking the two nights in Bath for October.

Grandmallie - I feel for you with your heel. You may have to see someone who really knows what they are talking about. A sports physio was the first person who was able to help me with my knee and the first to give an accurate diagnosis. I had years of X rays, arthrograms, hospital physio etc. Since I was 16. I saw her and everything fell into place. It is not perfect and never will be, but it is manageable. Otherwise you may have to go down the operation route, I'm sorry to say. It could be worth it if you are in so much debilitating pain. I send you my healing thoughts:flowerforyou:

Mwheatcraft - I managed 2 half one armed push ups today. They were more like a little dip than a push, but I was delighted. My quads are really sore from my 'jalk', but good sore. Those of you who are walking a long way I really envy you. I have vety weak, often sprained, ankles, that have a lot of ligament adhesions. I do special exercises for the arches and calves evety day and they are much improved, but if I walk for more than about 4 .5 miles the area in front of the ankle bone still swells up a lot. A few years ago I would not have been able t walk on my swollen feet the day after, but now they are do much better. It still feels great to me to be able to rise up on the balls of my feet when I walk. For many years I could only do a kind of shuffle. It is amazing what targeted exercises can do.

    Love to all.
Jane - many congrats to your DH on getting that position. It must be a terrific relief.:flowerforyou:

 I'm up early and finished with breakfast and ready to walk the dogs. We go to an early meeting several days a week so I have to get out early to have enough time before the meeting. Early is good for us because no one else is out except for the man who delivers the newspapers and drives too fast. I try to plan the walk to avoid him but I am not always successful.

:flowerforyou: Jake went to the "The Lone Ranger" for the second time last night. He liked it even better the second time. I had the house to myself for a few hours which is about as long as I like being by myself.

:flowerforyou: best wishes to all for a positive and productive day......act the way you want to feel.

Jane Martin:smile: Congrats to hubby!!! I am so very happy for you both:flowerforyou: !!!

Meg:smile: Love the story about hubby collecting doggie pee:laugh: !

My dinner turned out wonderful last night:love: !!! Roast chicken with fresh sage, thyme, rosemary, lemon zest, lemon juice, a bit of olive oil and spicy mustard, oh my it was so good, even my daughter was impressed:laugh: . Bless her, she grew up eating out most of the time, and when I did cook, sometimes they would say "what is that:huh:  . I made a meatloaf out of ground turkey once from some recipe and it was awful, even the dog wouldn`t eat it:embarassed:  . I love it when I finally make something I actually like! We had a great time sitting outside watching the girls play, they drove the golf cart, covered my driveway in beautiful chalk art, and hula hooped, I still don`t have that down:huh: , used to do it when I was younger and now just can`t get the hang of it:sad: , my oldest granddaughter and my daughter are great at it, my son in law:laugh: , he looks like me trying to do it...we had lots of laughs!

Today I`m meeting a friend for coffee and a chat, I`m looking forward to it! Have a wonderful day ladies!!! Drink your water:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: and log your food!!!

    Morning everyone;

Sorry my posting has been very sporadic. This week I've really been focusing on my exercise routine. I have been watching what I'm eating.

We had a family reunion last weekend and my cousin sent pictures. My husband commented that those pictures should cause some of us to take note and make some changes. Yep, we've got some changes to make in this household!

Got my exercise in already (a walk/jog). I've got to return some bread to Costco. I bought it on Wed and it had mold growing on it Thurs. and then go and get a haircut.

I hope everyone has a great day.

I’ve been drinking green smoothies – really love them, but my blender struggles. :noway: So I’ve been looking at both the Ninja and Vitamix (soooo expensive). Just wondering if any of you have experience with either and your thoughts on what is good and not so good about each. I’m leaning towards the Ninja for cost reasons but want to make sure those who have one think its worth it. Thanks! :drinker:

Jodios, after discussion with my fitness group I went with the Ninja - got it on Amazon for ~$100, and I'm loving it. It came with three individual smoothie cups; at first I didn't think I would use them, but I use them all.the.time. It's a perfect way to measure out everything. However, if you're adding big bunches of greens you may want to use the big bowl. Having said that, I really like it as a blender too - it has a multi-level blade so less chunkiness on top/more smooth blending overall. It's excellent with ice too. The only complaint I have is that it's fairly loud. I know people who have the Vitamix ($$$, but Costco sometimes has it on sale/coupons) and love it too. I just can't see spending that kind of money on a blender, especially if I'm not using it a lot, although I use my Ninja every day now.

Thanks everyone for the support. Yes, I usually always refer to my stepdaughter as my daughter but have recently started saying step since I keep referring to her "Mom." When I first tried to say something on facebook I realized that saying "my daughter's Mom was found dead" just didn't make sense.

My husband and I went to a counselor and will be making an appointment for her for Monday. We thought she needed to have at least a few days to sort out her feelings before she could talk to someone about them.

We got a copy of the suicide note this morning. It was all about my husband and me. Thank goodness my daughter knows the truth. But still, I wish it had been about how it wasn't her fault, but it was quite the opposite. Anyway, have to catch up on missed work.

    Cheryl from Illinois

Cheryl, I'm so sorry - a sad reminder of how hate can consume you until you can't see anymore.

DH's sister has tried to commit suicide a couple of times - she suffers greatly from manic depression. She keeps thinking her son will "be better off" without her - but it's really quite the opposite. Not only is it rough on the family dealing with the aftermath and health issues, but the loss of trust is devastating. Her son is terrified when his mom leaves. I hope your DSD gains some clarity through all of this that it was all about BM and not her.

Good morning! I'm feeling much better today, just worn out. Migraines drag every bit of energy out of me, almost like a hangover the next day. I feel weak & tired too but the pain is gone. I've gone out every morning but Wednesday for my morning walk. Ok, I am reluctently agreeing that getting up earlier is getting easier. :grumble: hmph, I'm still not a morning person.

I'm so happy that it's Friday. My boss is out today so I have the office to myself again but it's so slow. I do have my tablet so I can read my book.

Wessecg - I am so sorry your (step) daughter has had such a terrible experience—not once but twice in her young life. She is very lucky to have you in her life. She’s strong and with your support she will get through it.

Katla – your sailing trip sounds just amazing. I’d love to try it some time.

Grandmallie – I hope that your foot feels better soon, I can’t imagine being faced with having surgery on my foot, bad enough that I face it with my knees.

Heather – I absolutely love your reward necklace, congrats again on being in the “normal” bmi range. I hope you have a great time with your DGS

Robin – glad to hear you are still loving the new job.

Joyce – I feel the same way but did bite the bullet and took a “before” picture. I am always the one taking the pictures not being in the pictures. I hate all pictures of myself. I agree, time to see a doctor. It’s too much too quick. I pray you feel better for your party & trip to the park.

Jane – congrats to your hubby getting the job. What a relief. Now time to get your lives back on track (happy dance icon  )

Barbie – you wear me out just reading about everything you accomplish in a day

Janie – wow busy girl, good for you

Molly – I’m so sorry for all your pain, I suffer as well. I wish something would help

Pat – Christmas cards? Already? Yikes :noway:

Lila – Thanks but I hate pictures of myself..ugh. I’m in Oshawa just east of Toronto. Where did you live? I took a trip out to BC back in 1980 and absolutely loved it. I would move there in a heartbeat. Unfortunately I’m a total chicken and my “big” move was from Toronto to Oshawa

Vicki – I love the idea of a reward for your 100lb lost. My DD and I are going to go to a concert at Casino Rama when we both hit our 100 lb lost. She’s not far behind me so I’m really hoping we hit it by the spring.

Terri – your sister’s pool sounds like a little bit of heaven.

Dee – isn’t it wonderful when a meal actually turns out. I used to make all these wonderful meals when my kids were little and they would turn their noses up at it. I stopped! Now I’m just too tried most days. Weekends is when I tend to cook more.

Cindy – isn’t it such a wakeup call when we see ourselves in pictures?

    Have a great Friday everyone!!

    Good morning and TGIF!

I got through Jury duty unscathed…yeah! I’m good for at least two years now. I never even got picked for a panel, so although it was a bit boring (thankfully, I had a good book to read), they did let us out early so I had the rest of the day to prepare for my jewelry party.

Speaking of the jewelry party….I don’t usually have those things because I don’t want people to feel obligated to buy, but since this was my best girlfriend’s new enterprise, I wanted to help her out getting started. I only had six people, but a few friends who couldn’t make it ordered ahead of time on a link that credited my party and the total sales ended up around $600.00. I couldn’t believe it! I’d say it was a good start for her. We had some sangria, some snacks, and some girl talk, so it was actually fun!

I quickly scanned the posts, but will have to go back and really read them later, so only a few responses today.

:brokenheart: Cheryl – So sorry to hear that your daughter had to go through that. It’s a traumatic event for anyone to handle and anyone can see she is in pain right now. My thoughts and prayers are going out to her for healing. My granddaughter’s brother-in-law (only 17) committed suicide three years ago and they moved in with her fiancé’s father so he wouldn’t be alone. The father committed suicide last year and the note stated that he couldn’t get over his youngest son’s death. They are still struggling to get past these two tragedies and moved closer to her dad to be near family, as family now has become much more important.

 Janemartin – So happy your husband got the job! Good things happen to those who wait!

 Katla – Ain’t progress grand? Feels good to get a clean bill of health!

 Welcome to all of the newcomers. You will feel the love and support of all who post on this thread.

    GOALS FOR JULY:
Consistent logging (Pretty good except on vacations)
Drink at least 9 glasses of water a day (90%)
Find an exercise class I enjoy (NOT YET!!!)
    RUNNING OUTDOORS (Yep)
LOWER SODIUM FOODS (NOPE, but working on it!)
    STOP OBSESSING ABOUT FOOD (Hmmmmm…..)

Congrats to all on their success, and (((hugs))) to all who are struggling. Hang in…..it gets better!

    Hugs,

Well I called my doctors office. Usually you just get to talk to the receptionist and tell her what you are calling about. But this time I talked to the nurse. I lost another pound , so far this week it's 7 pounds so far. I still feel washed out. It would be so weird to increase my calories. I have been trying to stay with 1300 calories since November. MFP suggests 1480 but doctor and dietician says 1300.

Have a good day everyone, Joyce in Indiana

I thought I'd share a quick story with you since I know a lot of you are animal lovers. The other night I flipped on my porch light to take a peek for the stray cat I always put food out for. I saw grey fur coming up the stairs and almost opened the door. Thank goodness I waited because the next thing I saw was the LARGE grey furballs mask peeking at me. It was a raccoon probably looking for the food. I have no doubt that if I would have opened the door and that would have quite the mess with my furry boys! He just looked around and calmly left when he saw that there was nothing of interest. Then I found out later from the neighbor that some raccoon was chasing a large dog, in the dog's own backyard!

P.S Crazy day yesterday with EKG (normal) and ultrasound (also normal) since I had chest and leg pain. Feeling much better today and off to a job interview.

    Best wishes to all!

I've had my lunch which was a grilled cheese sandwich cooked on the George Foremen. Sandwich made of 2 slices of Healthy Life 35 calorie bread, 1 slice of 2& Kraft cheese, i serving, 10, mini carrots, 1 small Gala apple. 2 hours later I had my afternoon snack which was 1 container of Yoplait light yogurt. I am weak as a cat. So took my blood sugar, was 85 before lunch. Yeah my first meal of the day was 12:30  . Now blood sugar is 84. I have never had any kind of low blood sugar reaction so I have never had any glucose emergency things in the house. We usually have orange juice but DH hubby has been getting some 15 calorie lemonaide for him. My fruits are fresh and my fluids are water so I don't drink orange juice. So I ate probably a Tbsp of strawberry preserves. I know I have a blood pressure cuff somewhere in the house. I'm still waiting for a call from the doctors office to call but his norm is to answer all calls after office hours, unless it is an emergency of course

Feel SO much better after my preserves and then a good supper. I am over my calories and carbs for today but that's OK. At least I'm standing without being dizzy and able to talk coherently. I was trying to talk to the doctors nurse and it was hard for me to get my thoughts out.

So glad you're feeling better, be careful! Especially while you're changing your medication. Be well, sending positive thoughts!
  • Ok, so I'm a newbie. My cousin told me about MFP and said it has been a great motivator for her.
I don't have any friends on MFP so I am reaching out to ask you to be My Fitness Pals.

Recently I turned 50 and I am heavier than I have been all my life. My food choices are good, and I do exercise regularly, but obviously I get too much of the one and too little of the other.

I want help to stay motivated and to keep my eye on my goals: to have excellent health, to be fit and to feel attractive, to love my body and for my husband to love it too.

I welcome stories of how you got started, what was the trigger(s), how you have succeeded, what keeps you going,...

    thank you, Friends

OK Atlanta, Georgia gals -- has anyone used a chimney sweep? I think I hear birdies in the chimney.

Gail, most chimney sweeps will not remove birds in a chimney until after the birds have left for the season (when it gets cold). There are Federal regulations about the removal of migratory birds, and although most of the birds likely to be in a chimney are not migratory birds, removing them will still probably kill them. After it gets cold and the birds aren't nesting, a sweep can remove the nests and install a bird guard to keep them out. You may be able to find a sweep to take care of them now, though. I have birds in my chimney every summer. :)

Hi gals! Beautiful weather here today, only in the mid 80s. We are supposed to have record lows (can you believe it???) for the next two nights…low 50s! We will be sleeping with windows open!

The concert was nice last night until the lightening started then we fled! I finished my diary for yesterday this morning and did fine plus I got 7600 steps in. Today I got custom drapes (well really they are valences) in the dining room. The drapes themselves are gorgeous, but I don’t like the brackets holding them up. First they are a dark wood and all my wood trim is light (but the dark looks great with the fabric), second the brackets themselves are massive, and third they are positioned way too high above the windows. So the installer said to wait until we get our wood floor installed to see how they look, then call him and he’ll come and change whatever I want changed. We played around with them for a while to get some ideas. I worked in the garden for about 1 ½ hours, but probably half of that was sitting and watching all the birds! DH and I just got back from a nice walk.

Janemartin: so glad to hear DH got his job! Good for him. I sure both of you are proud!

Kevrit: haha I have done that so many times!

Barbie: sounds like a very busy day for you!

Sue: baby steps baby steps once again. It’ll come back for you.

    Janie: drink up! Great burn!

Michele: it feels great to start that exercise routine again, doesn’t it?

Molly: hope your fibro settles down and you have some good days

Gail: wow good for you to get that extra exercise in. I remember hearing something about your weather last night on the weather channel but now I can’t remember what it was!

Pat: get those nasty greens in any way you can! Christmas cards…OMG I can’t even think about that now. OH! Actually I did. We had our portrait taken for the church picture directory and we ordered Christmas cards! YAY now I don’t have to think about it!

Lila: I love nothing better than coffee on the deck, except for maybe reading the paper too. Coffee and the morning paper are my favorite routine which I miss when I am working.

Joyce: I agree with you…get to a professional for a checkup! We will be worried until we hear what you find out!

Katla: boob pictures LOL???? We have a system like that here too. It’s great! My mammo is next week I think. I'll see about getting pics LOL

Grandmallie: I wish there was something to ease that painful foot!

Heather: I agree, your visitors will not be noticing any dust or things out of place. I hope you enjoy all your activities that are coming up. I am glad you have cooled off too.

DeeDee: I really pride myself on my cooking, but recently made bread that was heavier than a brick. The kids kept it for months using it as a door stop, book holder-open, etc. It never molded or anything. I swear it was hard as a rock.

Cindy: I often wonder how many people would make changes if they saw some really honest and realistic pictures of themselves. I used to just say “I don’t look like THAT!!!” and ignore it. Good for you to make changes.

M: that kind of mental illness is so hard on everyone.

Sandy: we had a rule for our kids. They had to have one spoonful of everything I made. I don’t think you know this but they were adopted from Russia at 9 and 13. They wouldn’t ever try bread here. They were extremely malnourished but so picky it was ridiculous. So I had a Russian neighbor over who translated for me (and I think added a few choice words of her own….Russians mamas are known for being tough birds) and told them they WOULD eat what I made. No problems since LOL. That was over 7 years ago and I am just now finding out what they do and don’t like. I think they were scared!

Kathy: so glad you got the job!

Joyce: so glad you found out what the problem is….since you have lost weigh your dose probably needed to be adjusted. Stay well now!

    Wantotbehot: welcome aboard!

Gail: there is a company called Critter Control at least here in NE and they can remove animals that even have federal protections on them (Beth is right about that). She is also right about nesting.

OK ladies. I need to add my gardening to the exercise column and go get rid of these huge grey streaks in my hair (what??? Me have grey:? NOooooooooooooooooo)

Take care, Meg from pleasantly cool Omaha

Ok, so I'm a newbie.

My “aha moment” when this photo of me in a sweater that a knit thinking I had knit it large and roomy and it was tight and l looked like a lumpy old woman in it.

I decided to start by planning my meals for the day and sticking to the plan. Then I found MFP and began to log my food and make gradual changes to eliminate empty calories and eat nutrition dense food. Then I began to look for ways to be more active.

Less than a year later, this is what the sweater looked like on me.

What motivates me is to stay connected to this thread every day and log my food and exercise every day. Keep coming back to this thread and you'll be amazed at the results and you'll become part of our supportive community.

Hi Ladies-I really enjoyed reading your posts. I too am 50+ and on my weight loss journey. I started back in Feb, to exercise 3 x a week with a super fitness group. In Mar we started a Big Loser competition, where you had to workout 5-6 days a week and well log your food daily. I accepted the challenge and eventually won! Yep, after 90 days I had loss 37 lbs, that was 1 June. Now it is 26 July and I have lost only an additional 10 lbs despite the fact that I am still working out faithfully 6 days a week and eating right, still logging daily. So I am guessing this is the dreaded "plateau". I am changing things up, trying new workouts to trick my body etc. but well, hopefully I will finally reach that -50lb mark soon.
I am going on vacation with my sis at the end of Aug. We will be visiting our family, that we haven't seen since Aug 2006, and many lbs (less) ago. So...I want to lose 10 more lbs by then to be where I was back then. I am really in much better shape now even if the scale is not as kind. I feel wonderful, well aside from a little pain in my right knee (new) which I probably from too much cardio.
So ladies...it is very nice to meet you all and I hope I can be of support for you.

OK, this is really really weird. I snuck on the scale today (tomorrow is my official weigh in) and the scale says that I weigh LESS than before I left. Must be somthing wrong with the scale because I sure don't feel like I'm weighing any less.

Going to drop our aluminum off at the Humane Society and then off to the deep water class. Tomorrow is yoga.

Molly - sure hope you feel better fast.

Gail - good for you going to the Y rather than work. Which is more important anyway, you or work?

Pat - we really haven't cleaned the pool since we got back, it's been raining so much. We're talking about doing some work behind the equipment pad today so after the Y I'll come right home. It's not supposed to be as humid, either.

Lila - ohhhh...a new fridge. What kind are you getting?

joyce - please let us know how things are going. I'm concerned for you. You don't have to be a nurse to know that losing 6 pounds and 10 inches in a month means something is wrong. Hope you find out what.

katla - have a great time. Honestly, I'd never heard of MyHealth but it sure sounds wonderful!

grandmalle - would doing exercises in the deep water of the pool help you? That would be zero pressure on your heel but you'd still be working

DeeDee - you dinner sounds wonderful! And you didn't invite me????? Hmmmmfffff..... (SMILE)

Sandy - I usually plan my meals for the upcoming week and do the cooking on Sun (sometimes Sat), then just heat up the leftovers.

Lucy in DE - did you have to go to jury dty every day? When I was called, I just had to go on Monday and then call every night to see if I was needed the next day. How nice of you to help your friend out with the jewelry party that way!

Joyce in IN - you're getting me concerned, now

iwanttobeahot - welcome to a great group. You'll get lots of inspriation here. Keep logging in. I guess for me the trigger was a picture that was taken of the backside of me when my first daughter had her prom. I was so WIDE. I find that logging EVERYTHING, even nibbles, helps me so much to stay on the right path.

Beth - thanks for the advice to Gail. I never had birds in my chinmeny, so I never knew that chimneysweeps wouldn't clean out your chimney until the birds stopped nesting. Interesting fact

Meg - I think that when they installed the drapery rod in our bedroom they installed it a bit too high. But that I'm living with. Maybe the woman had custom drapes, but I doubt it

barbie - never in a million years would I have thought that was you! What a change in you over that year! You look fantastic!

Mel - welcome! You sound so determined. You're doing everything that you can, your body just needs to respond.

Well, tomorrow I'm going to take the plunge. Gee, wish it was in the pool:). Anyway, I'm going to weigh myself. As you know, I was scared to when we first got back, but I need to, can't keep putting this off. So tomorrow's the day!

We did work outside a bit today, but only for about 2-1/2 hrs. Vince wanted to put landscape fabric over some of the drainage pipes, he dug the trench for landscape lighting in case we ever need it along one fence. I personally don't think we'll need it. I also dug a trench for an extension of one of the drainage pipes. But after the 2-1/2 hrs he said that he was tired and wanted to stop, that he didn't want to jeaopardize his health. I didn't want him to, either. So we stopped working but I went into the pool for an hour. It's just so so relaxing floating while the waterfall is on. If I hadn't had my timer on, I probably would have just laid out there for hours on end.
