    yeah that's especially bad for women. I was like, 24, 25 years old when Charlize Theron broke into movies and was everywhere, and younger than me (like, 19 or something), and I was thinking "Crap. I've just settled into having a house and a job and now I'm too old to be of social relevance anymore?"

    I am what used to be called a "baby bust" kid--right after the boom, but then all the marketing types lumped us in with the boomers again because our numbers were too small to have our own category. So for awhile all the actresses were 5 years older than me. Then over a year or two boom--suddenly hollywood was casting for the next big demographic group, 5 years younger than me. Media has been really bad for people in my generation because when we were looking for partners all the movies etc. were glorifying adapting to marriage and first kids, which was 5 years ahead of where we were socially, then when we got to that stage all the movies skipped back to being about falling in love for the group 5 years behind.
