@Kimmertmsn I work part time doing 5.5 hr days sat at a desk with no break. It's way more tiring than my days off when I'm active.

Anyone up for a 10,000 steps a day challenge? I work in an office and sit at a desk most of the day, so this would be a great challenge for me. So for the entire month of May I am going to attempt to get in at least 10,000'steps per day every day. Anyone that would like to join is more than welcome.

I'd love to join you. How do challenges on here work?

It's horrible. I went for a walk tonight, which gave me some energy, ate a salad for dinner, now I'm a zombie again :(

Hey Tammie we are just posting daily or weekly (whichever you prefer), if we reached 10,000 steps per day. Sharing ideas how we are doing this, especially for those of us that are stuck at desks all day. You are more than welcome to join.

12034 Steps today!! I was so worried today would be my worst day and so far it's been pretty good. I think sitting all day made me more determined to walk even farther on my walk this evening. I am using a garmin vivoactive and I love it. It kept vibrating and telling me to move today while I was sitting in my meetings. My boss got a kick out of it ;)

    Understand completely
Get up right now and take a few steps in place. Just move. You will feel better.
    Small baby steps

Just walk 5-10 minutes at a time...I found I can do anything for 5-10 minutes at a time. When I first started and I found myself not moving enough, I started with walking during commercials on TV cuz guaranteed that's what I was doing...watching TV. Set a timer if necessary...even if only for 5 minutes...it really helps me stay motivated.

Something else I use is beans. Just plain, old, ordinary beans! I have 5 of them in plain sight and after each 'timed' walk, I move one over until I have all 5 moved. Then I start all over again.

Today I've done 20,107 steps, I was 397 short of 20k so I walked around the house a bit so I could double my target.

Ended up with 13,904 today. Thanks to everyone for the support today. I think I was tired out today for some reason. I ended up going for a short walk and push mowing part of lawn, so I definitely got some exercise. Ready for bed. :)

    Today I managed 15,256.

Very happy with this figure because earlier today I thought I wasn't going to find time to do a walk and I would've been way under. Some plans changed in my favour so I went out to make the most of today's sunny UK weather.

    20,267 steps

So struggled to get my morning step routine done...was really tired and just didn't want to do it...but persevered and ended up with more steps than I've done in a while. Whew! What a day...so busy but happy with the results!

Btw, I post a day 'late' as I wait til morning to log everything in. That's why I put the date on my posts.

42,024 steps completed today. This includes a 5.25 hour canal walk. And makes it 7 days of target so far.
