WEIGHT LOSS FOR THE WEEK: 3 lbs.
There is a God! I was beginning to wonder when I sat on 180 for 19 days. I even called the Lifestyle Coach provided by my insurance to see if my only hope was a LCD and she referred me to a registered dietitian instead. My appointment isn't for another ten days but now maybe I don't need it since the scale is finally going down again.
The idea of a dietitian sort of freaks me out. I know she is not supposed to be judgemental and that she is not the diet police but I am still very apprehensive. I already scrutinize everything I put in my mouth and now there will be someone else doing it too. Should I cancel the appointment? People allegedly lose more weight when they work with a dietitian. Maybe she can help me avoid another plateau. The Lifestyle Coach said I was not eating enough and she was a dietitian. Maybe I do need the help of a professional but I feel very vulnerable, exposed. Does anyone have any insight or experience with dietitians? Thanks.

@Elphabs, don't be afraid of a dietitian. If you have a good one they are not judgemental. I have the best in the world and so far the insurance has been paying for it for the last two years. He really works with me to develop eating plans I can work with for my lifestyle, my current weight, etc. He is also a fabulous encourager. I was meeting with him ever other week when I was going to a physical therapy specialist who is an hour from where I live. The therapist highly recommended my dietitian. The trouble is that when PT was over I could no longer meet with my dietitian. They had their businesses in the same area and it had already been tough for me to expect my friend to drive me to the PT for a year. I didn't want to have to ask her to drive me for appointments with the dietitians. Well, the dietitian didn't have a problem with doing phone consults and he is available to me at any time by email or Facebook messages if I really have a question or concern or if I'm just feeling really bad about how I'm doing. I feel badly that most of our consults are me talking about the tough parts of life. He just tells me that it is his job to listen because his whole business is set up on helping people get healthier according to the things going on in their lives and their limitations. It's called Case Specific Nutrition. Look ups some of his stuff on YouTube. He might not be in your area, but his videos are very informative. Just search YouTube for Andrew Wade, Case Specific Nutrition or Registered Dietitian Rants.

So I'm down 6.2 pounds for 8 weeks! That's about 0.7 lbs loss per week on an average. So I've got three weeks left and realize I'm not going to hit my initial goals, but also realize that life happens, celebrations come and they go, vacations interfere, weather plays havoc with my walking plan, there you have it...one excuse after the other. I could say it's excuses, or I could just say, "Hey, I'm down 6.2 pounds and be happy with who I am on the inside! That the number on the scale doesn't define who I am! I am defined by who I am on the inside of me and I think that's pretty great! Yay!

Our breakthroughs are right here right now. Can you see them? They are in the little things...Like that choice you made to go to bed early or take a long bubble bath instead of snacking mindlessly through the night. Or maybe it was your choice to get out of bed in the morning and take a long walk even though it was cold and rainy outside. Or just maybe it was your choice to love who you are and who you where made to be instead of telling yourself you'll never amount to anything.
Celebrate your breakthrough today by thinking on what you did do right instead of what you didn't. Don't consume yourself every waking minute with this 'THING'. It doesn't control you, you control 'IT'! Yes, journal your food and yes, log your progress, but then let it go for the rest of your day and live well.
All you have is today, so make it your best.

Thank you! I'm very happy with where I am. I just hit a new low, today (7/5), at 180.7 lbs. The morning I got home from Hawaii (7/2) I actually weighed in at 185.3 lbs. Guess I just needed a few days for my body to normalize.3
