So my wife watches real housewives of Orange County...All the fighting and bickering over the littlest insignificant things. All I can think is "no way this show is real, it has to all be scripted just to get content for the show."

Then I read this thread and think, "Ya know, maybe it's all real".

    LMAO That's hilarious!

I wish they made clothes in a variety of "cuts" - like curvy (aka hourglass) and for more boyish figures. I find everything seems to be somewhere in between - which is aggravating! (Don't get me onto trying to get jeans to fit round the waist AND hips!) I did see a sports top once available in a "curvy" and "athletic" cut, but it was not in my size:huh:
I buy midrise. They're high up enough so the crack doesn't show, but they sit at the waist, so you don't have to worry about fitting waist and hips.

Don't some brands offer a "curvy" jean, though, that's for the pear/hourglass shape? I haven't tried any.

Gap has a curvy jean. It does help with the gap but Gap now adds too much stretch so at the end of the day they end up too big all over. Levi's has something too. I believe it takes your measurements and finds you the right fit. Obviously I have not tried this, yet.

lucky brand has a curvier cut to some of their jeans, and the loft carries a curvy girl jean.

Aero has them too. I ordered them because I was fat thinking that's why they made them  However, they have WAY too much stretch to them too, so by the end of the day, they sag everywhere.

Old Navy has a curvy fit. I think it's the Sweetheart fit.

Agree, her brand of beauty is stunning...classic, and many will aspire to it, but cannot achieve it..but I consider the really fit, toned women of today just as stunning in a different way. These women project strength, not a a kind of childlike helplessness...and STRENGTH will always be sexy to me, whether we're talking about men or women.

The most humorous part of this is that I didn't mean for it to turn into this.

Just appreciating how gorgeous she was...and even though she is pregnant in this picture, she doesn't have a huge bulge...I can still appreciate the fact that she looks pretty in this picture.

Girls find anything to bicker about. Even if you read the original post...which obviously most people didn't.

I think she's gorgeous. She's not super toned, she's not 3% body fat...

    She's a bombshell. Opinions?

I'm glad she wasn't 3% body fat, because essential body fat for women is 10-13%.

I am not part of the cult of Marilyn Monroe, but she looks very healthy and attractive there. As others have said, it's not to helpful to emulate her body type if you don't have the same build. For myself, I'm not interested in a super-developed look. I just want to be lean and firm.

Well...there have been whole threads on these forums about people's celebrity idea body types...Will I ever be just like her? No. Do I have a natural hourglass shape? Yes...do I admire her form? Yes.

If I could have any body shape, hers would be it. I'm working on being my best me, but if I were to have the body of a celebrity, there it is.

    Right.

And I'm fairly certain OP really didn't mean that Marilyn had 3% body fat. It was just an example of how her body and body fat percentage and attractiveness to some is much different than what people find attractive now.

    *insert eye roll*

Right. I know she didn't say Marilyn Monroe had 3% body fat. She clearly said she did not. Then she said discuss...... so, I said it was a good thing she didn't, hence, I was discussing....

This was quoted because about 4 posts up the OP accused everyone of not reading the Original Thread. So Puffy was simply then responding directly to it as if she meant it literally. You can't have it both ways . . .

Sadly in this day and age where the ideal female body has no curves no legs no breast this woman is seen as fat. Far be it from the truth she will for ever be an icon of grace and beauty. I'd take Marilyn over any of the models out there today.

Maybe by the fashion industry and even Hollywood, but the average man or woman on the street wouldn't call her fat.

Well, the ones who say Jennifer Lawrence is fat would, but those people tend toward being idiots, so ...

While her figure is nice I'll be honest. If I saw her at the beach or out walking around my thought would be "She's got a nice shape but she really needs to lift some weights."

My personal preference is a gal who has a few curves but also nice muscle definition showing.

Just saying that a woman preferring me to have more muscle as she's watching me on the beach isn't exactly something I care about. I don't get pushing personal preferences for one's own body onto others. I can appreciate the beauty of a more toned body without wanting it for myself.

    Lmao.

I also had a fat girl in my class who always kept talking about her hourglass figure, her Barbie looks and her cheerleader body type. And that men are crazy in love with her and women are crazy jealous.

Everyone was like  She had soft shapeless jellish body 200 pounds at least.

Yeah because we all know fat = curvy. Lol.

I'm not pushing my personal preference on anyone by saying that. It's not like I'm going to walk up to you and say "Honey, LIFT SOME WEIGHTS!" or not talk to you or say hi to you because you weren't muscular.

How is my looking at someone and thinking that pushing something on them?

I think you're kind of reading a bit more into this than you need to.

Regardless of what size she was, how tragic her life was, or how unattainable her curves may be for most...I think we can all agree that she was stunningly beautiful!

    tumblr_ma6paiw1HP1qada1vo1_500.jpg

I love her outfit here as well...

And she's got thighs! Look at that! And she's still stunning.

In my original pic she was preggers-another amazing feat! She's still gaw-geous!

She was a beautiful woman. Everyone is beautiful in one way or another, it's all about preference. Her shape doesn't happen to be my preference, she looks fragile or soft. I prefer strong and defined.

I remember that GAP used to make low rise "curvy fit" jeans (I think they still make the curvy fit-just not the same as wen I used to buy them/when they first came out).

I loved them...they didn't have a gap in the back when you bent over...hugged my hips and thighs well but weren't mom jeans...

Totally off topic, but there it is.

My wording is a bit off. It's the idea that what she looks like is not good enough because it isn't your personal ideal. I don't want a six-pack or super hard, toned arms (low body fat) but I've never had the thought that someone should stop lifting or eat more because she has those features.

I find that kind of insulting, and while I'm sure you wouldn't walk up to a woman on the street and say that, you did just say that to every single woman reading this thread.
